if the subcategories have their own collection set up for them then you can do this. But if you're using a collection filter to display the subcategories then this won't work for you.
thankyou so much for this video , but my problem is half solved . i only want sub collections in one collection of the collection list , but rest of the collections have empty collection list because i created sub collection in one of the collection . please tell me how can i get rid of the empty collection list in rest of the collection .
The collection list section allows you to set up a single "block" for each collection. So if you only want to use one of the blocks and get rid of the other two blocks, you can just hit the delete button (trash icon) on both of them.
Could you create a video demonstrating how to do a collection like the Nike store collection , scroll down to the 'Explore Collection' section, and you will see what I’m talking about , im trying to move the purchase button, headline, and text to a different locations within that collection , hope you understand what I’m trying to say
The problem with this method is that i need to add in the fixed no. Of sub-collections. However, I have collections where the no of sub-collections I want to show vary. If I make a template of 3 sub-collections and link 2 sub-collections only, the 3rd block in the collection list does not disappear dynamically and shows up as empty on the page. The only solution is to create a separate template for each collection page then. Not sure if I explained it properly.
Oh, I see what you mean. It would be better if the collection list section doesn’t show an element on the screen at all if there’s no sub collection for it. This can be done pretty easily, but would require writing some custom liquid code to check for the existence of a collection before rendering it on the screen.
I am in the same predicament. I just started on shopify a couple days ago so am quite green. Can you explain the template setup for each collection page? TIA
Very good information. thank you 🙏
