Tchaikovsky's 6th is long and intensive PAIN. All the misery and sadness Tchaikovsky had during his life manifested in this last symphony. I played it in an orchestra and it was really hard not to cry, especially in the last part of the 4th movement^^ The pianist played the movement so amazingly beautifull and pathetic, it really took my breath away. Excellent!!!!
The most powerful piece of music for piano I've ever heard. If anyone wants to get someone into playing piano, he/she should introduce him/her to this movement (the original orchestral version), and then show him/her this video. I'm trying to play Klengel's or Pachulski's transcriptions available on the internet on my Clavinova electric piano at home but I guess it will never sound like that.
This music is prophetic the ultimate destiny of mankind it definitely spelled the end of the Romanov era.The grand vals will be over and then there will be eternal silence.
