Julio Rodriguez I find that comedians dont need help from the interviewer while they're talking or telling a story because that's kind of a comedian's job. The interruptions from Jimmy or any talk show host is to help the guest move on with their story with as less awkwardly or unfunny moments as possibly. Trust me sometimes interruptions from the host can really help a dull interview such as musicians or just plain boring actors.
David Spade is one of those guys that always kills on these types of shows. Always has a killer story w/ witty liners. He's such an underrated comedians. One of the greatest ever (at least of my generation).
And they keep asking him how was it working with Farley, really?! He's clever and subtle, and Farley was the loud, look at me type of a "comedian", like USA vs. UK.

Different subcultures have basic human things in common which we all share but then there are tons of superficial differences, so we get that funny anxiety of feeling like we're not fitting in when we're the odd one out. Most of us are civilized 21st century people so usually it's all in the mind and in reality the rest of the group is being very inclusive which is how he portrays it....obviously nobody really gives a shit that he's white, they invited him! But he can't get over it and starts acting weird which if you've ever been in that situation leads to hilarious awkwardness and misunderstandings, way more than if you joined in. David Spade is not only a great standup comedian, he's a stand-up human too. He's aged really well (which is to say he is mature and admirable in demeanor) and his ability to entertain is still solid. I really love him as a comic and would be really happy to meet him!

I think those people who travel a lot really understand that mentioning a cultural or racial difference idoesnt mean your talking down or criticising it. People should be equal in the eyes of the law and society but when it comes to lives traits and culture people are far from equal but also neither above or below one another. Even If youre culture and upbringing are alike to one another there is always something that made you into who you are and even if its somehow just 1 difference well that 1 difference is something that someone else will never be able to know what its like having. So instead of fighting over differences and instead of acting like we are all the same ppeople need to be sharing what its like and what its lead to and connect through that
Racism and stereotypes can be amazing when done right. I think it's really a matter of remaining humble and grounded, being able to laugh at yourself and your own race/stereotypes. Few people joke more at their own expense than David Spade which is why he can get away with such comments.

I disagree with almost everything you said, starting with making the unnecessary and obvious point that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't believe that "people so humble put aside their pride" to do small roles. The people that try out for the lead roles but don't get them aren't downgraded to smaller parts, they just aren't in the film. The people that get the smaller parts auditioned for those parts and are happy to have them. Also every role does not matter. In most cases the smaller the part, the easier it is to cut or change. Not everyone counts, in fact most people don't.
