James Bearpark Great video guys. I notice neither of you had a mini torque wrench when assembling your posh bikes. That’s not setting a very good example. Think how disastrous it would have been for your bucket list ride should some of that Caron fiber gave away.
Really nice video, bute I never saw they guy/guys who are filming the whole ride. Can you get them involved next time or make an extra bts video about the filming crew ?
I've been following GCN since 2013..I'm so glad to see you riding in the island where I was born and over the same roads I usually train...hope you enjoy Gran Canaria...cheers!
I don't know how demanding for Si, Dan, Matt and Lasty a vlog could be, but this kind of content is as awesome and quite interesting (for me) as the epic rides (still loving Matt and Si vs Dan). Congratulations for the excellent job, team!
I'm from Finland and I too escaped to the warmth and sunshine of Gran Canaria earlier this year. The first day trip was (of course) from Ingles to the top of the island. I grew a habit to ride to the top almost each day, and surprisingly it didn't wear me out, and I see myself as a beginner (10 years of riding to school =). It was my second time there and I highly recommend the trip to anyone from a shitty climate. Best moments of my life climbing the exact roads GCN did!
I just want to say that this and the entire "Gran Canaria" bucket list ride video have to be one of my absolute favorites. You all did an excellent job of giving me a small sense of what it might be like to have been there with you on this amazing ride. Except for one ride I was lucky enough to do on the island of Oahu, all my riding has been on the east coast of the U.S....so make all the "epic ride" videos you guys can, cause I thoroughly have enjoyed what I hope to be the first of many!
One of GCN's best videos. Loved the editing, music, footage, etc. There's more to cycling then just being on the bike, and this covered another aspect. Keep this up!!!
We need more of these videos!! very entertaining with the in-real life stuffs happening before they start making the videos for the ride. I've learn so much things from GCN (tips and training). kudos to everyone!! Greetings from Quebec, Canada
A great vid. I was there with you, in my dreams ! Inspiring! I am retired now at home in Wales, feeling miserably robbed after the Rugby yesterday, awaiting windy sleet -1 weather! Why do I do this to myself. Next year, and I mean it this time, I will spend my time on my bike improving my cycling skills and fitness, in the sun somewhere. I will, I really will! Thank you GCN.
Hello GCN Team, thank you for the great cycling entertainment you deliver on RUclips, this is top work, and the size of your ever-growing audience speaks volumes. While cycling across Northern Thailand in Jan/early Feb, I was thinking of your training plan for the next Taiwan KOM. Road 1097 and 1148 between Chiang Klang and Chiang Kham, Road 1249 from Fang to Doi Ang Khang and back. Of course Road 1095 to Pai and Mae Hong Son. But don't forget Road 1263 between Khun Yuam and Mae Chaem. I now know how to spell "epic". Looking forward to the next show. (A special thought for Matt who gives us in our late 40s and above a lot of motivation).
Well done guys! More videos like this please, the filming style felt like we were going on the trip with you. Looking forward to the main event tomorrow!
Heat wave all week here in OZ suffering from Cabin Fever so off for the Sunday morning ride, 27c at 7 am . Thanks for the great video to watch over my bowl of breakfast I am now as inspired as one can be after 31 years on the bike.
Global Cycling Network I like the idea of a tag team race. Maybe picking different routes to a cafe, and have cycling related obstacles along the way. It should incorporate CX.
Whilst I'm under bo illusion that this video is in direct response to my asking for such a thing - THANK YOU!!! Loved this video so much! Great to see how it's all done! If I worked in a hotel and someone rang the bell like that they'd be bucket riding with severely swollen testicles.
3/4 through the video and, WOW, just wow. Love the scenery shots from both places, love the food shots (American here, always interested in what all you normally eat, plus I rode this morning - so food is always on the tickets after weekend morning rides). More of these (Behind the Scenes - doesn't have to be epic if there's food shots), please.
Great video guys. I'm looking forward to south japan soon.. especially Shikoku. Also New Zealand in on my list.. plus East of the Alps in Slovakia, and into Georgia.. Iceland.. Coloumbia.. almost everywhere!
For travel, I use one of those cheap red Trek ones that they [sometimes] give free with a bike. I think Giant also has them, as do others. They're very lightweight and perfect for travel. You can snag em off eBay for dirt cheap.
and here I am... sitting in Germany.. where it rains... and is cold... thinking to myself: "I need to quit my job and start being GCN presenter"! Great job guys! Made me a little jealous :)
Great video guys, I agree, i've done the neighbouring islands before and last year tried GC for the first time. It really does have the best roads. I got round most of the island when out there and looks like your epic ride was one I did last summer. Hope to get back to GC this year again.
Great video!! Just from the look on your faces, one can tell how happy you guys were to be there. And that weather! I'm definitely inspired to try this to escape from the winter. I'm done with it already here in NY. #bucketlist
Well I had never travelled abroad before but you inspired me to head to the tour and knock off The Alpe and Ventoux. All with easy jet and it was easy!!!! If a chopper like me can do it then anyone can.
I love what you guys are doing. Your videos really help me to stand the bad and muddy weather and to keep me motivated. Although ... I'm a bit jealous.
Loved tthe video, and the vlog style. Hope you didn't forgot to film the bike dismantle and packaging, it's something we all want to see. Love Dan's bike box!
+Alvaro Gaspar we've done a couple of videos on the correct way to pack various types of bike bags. From now on, that sort of video will be over on GCN Tech, and we'll make sure we cover to best way to pack your bike bag there soon.
One of the best videos you've ever made, loved it 🙂 Although, having said that, without the other videos it would be somewhat of a pointless video, which is an interesting quandary
Wait a second, the biggest self check area but you have to board the plane by the stairs outside in the rain, I mean it's not like its ever good weather there 😂🤣 Sweet ride you guys ended up doing!! 🔥💪🤙
Excellent video guys, need more of this style, great subject and an insight into travelling with a bike box. Not always as easy as it says in the airlines bumf.
Another great video from GCN and Matt and Lasty must be yellows when they still sit in a rainy Brittain. What they do in the same time would be fun to know. Other wise that is interresting know how easy that is take the bike with you and I think Dan´s cycle bag was most interesting. I looking toward see the continue of the travel and my own dream place ride a bike must be Toscana in Italy.
So envious, so beautiful, it almost brings me to tears. Oh also. Dan has the best hair. (no I'm not gay so lets stop those stupid comments right there)
Love all of the GCN content but this is so appealing under the current Winter chill. I'm new to these parts of the world so can you post/circulate details and logistics of this ride so punters like us can do the same trip? Keep up the informative and entertaining content and more of these behind the scenes vlogs please!
Comment with your dream cycling location 🌍
Japan. Ride beautiful mountains, finish every day with tea and hot springs.
+Helicase21 we really want to make it over to Japan soon.
Northern France or Belgium I’ve never gotten to ride in Europe and I desperately want too!
That would be smooth, dry asphalt :)
Croatia, coast or islands you choose!!
We need more of these videos!
Thanks James, we'd love to make more, so watch this space...
Agreed!!!!
Global Cycling Network Would love to see more of this ride and that dangerous road you've been mentioning.
James Bearpark und
James Bearpark Great video guys. I notice neither of you had a mini torque wrench when assembling your posh bikes. That’s not setting a very good example. Think how disastrous it would have been for your bucket list ride should some of that Caron fiber gave away.
Excellent! We need more of these vlog style behind the scenes videos. Nice one GCN! 👍🎥🚴
+Nige Ayers thanks Nige. We'll definitely try and make a few more.
Nige Ayers That is true. I like these kind of videos too. Keep it up.
Although less is more
Really nice video, bute I never saw they guy/guys who are filming the whole ride. Can you get them involved next time or make an extra bts video about the filming crew ?
maroh92 + just about to say the exact thing. pls gcn. a real bts video.
maroh92 5:08
maroh92 I think they shot it them self’s. All the angles seem like them. Except for the meal screen. Someone helps them out
This is the quality content we all deserve
+notmark thanks - we loved making this video, so really pleased you like it too
I've been following GCN since 2013..I'm so glad to see you riding in the island where I was born and over the same roads I usually train...hope you enjoy Gran Canaria...cheers!
+Tanausu Vega Morales we did very much enjoy our time there - great place to ride!
I don't know how demanding for Si, Dan, Matt and Lasty a vlog could be, but this kind of content is as awesome and quite interesting (for me) as the epic rides (still loving Matt and Si vs Dan). Congratulations for the excellent job, team!
I see that Simon touched to accept he hadn't packed any dangerous good. I guess he didn't bring any wattage bazookas.
+Euan Munro haha!
Sorry for asking this but do electronic gears have Lithium batteries? If so then they can't fly in the baggage hold......

One of GCN's best videos. Loved the editing, music, footage, etc. There's more to cycling then just being on the bike, and this covered another aspect. Keep this up!!!
Thanks Mijo!
Easily one of the best vids you've done recently. As a blog style video is so much more engaging to watch. Top stuff, more please
We need more of these videos!! very entertaining with the in-real life stuffs happening before they start making the videos for the ride. I've learn so much things from GCN (tips and training). kudos to everyone!! Greetings from Quebec, Canada

Don't blame you for going to Gran Canaria, went there on a golf holiday last year and spent the whole time wishing I was cycling
Surprisingly good format, thoroughly enjoyed.
Smashing video, great to see the behind the scenes stuff, its like a mini GCN vlog!
Love behind the scenes and bloopers! Keep them coming!
This is awesome! Thank you for posting and filming.
Would love to see the GCN guys attempt an epic bikepacking trip

You guys have the coolest job ever.
With Emma Pooley being the next GCN presenter, I think it's time for a new GCN Presenters challenge.
+Liam Sangaku 100%. What should be the challenge, though?
+Global Cycling Network Like a mini run/bike challenge. A tag team race.
Global Cycling Network I like the idea of a tag team race. Maybe picking different routes to a cafe, and have cycling related obstacles along the way. It should incorporate CX.
Oh god, not Emma Pooley...
Global Cycling Network TT up Alp D’huez everyone weighed down with 50% of their body weight
Dan should be a weather reporter. "Scattered showers of sideways rain with winds strong enough to ruin your hair"
Wept tears of salty envy watching this in Corona misery :( So cool, thanks for making a great sport even more funner.
Whilst I'm under bo illusion that this video is in direct response to my asking for such a thing - THANK YOU!!!
Loved this video so much! Great to see how it's all done!

This is an interesting video, like the format very relax and organic. Keep it up guys!👍
More of this behind the scenes/vlog type content please!
I would like to see Sy and Dan climbing the epic Serra da Estrela in Portugal from the Volta a Portugal. Cheers and keep the good job.
Great video guys. I'm looking forward to south japan soon.. especially Shikoku. Also New Zealand in on my list.. plus East of the Alps in Slovakia, and into Georgia.. Iceland.. Coloumbia.. almost everywhere!
Thanks. That was a lot of fun. A dream cycling location for me is the high desert of western US. Great open roads, Vista’s and mountains.
Loved this one guys 👏👏👏 more please
loved this vlog style video!
I find your lack of a torque wrench alarming.
Second
For travel, I use one of those cheap red Trek ones that they [sometimes] give free with a bike. I think Giant also has them, as do others. They're very lightweight and perfect for travel. You can snag em off eBay for dirt cheap.
You guys should vlog more often! I love it !
I love Gran Canaria next time i go back there i'm taking my bike, i wasn't a cyclist last time i was there but i do remember the roads, fantastic.
i really enjoyed this would love more of this type of content
I spotted you guys at the gate. I missed a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in a GCN video.
Where were you headed, or coming back from?
Slovenia. My gate was slightly further down from theirs.
Real life video, like it. Keeps it real for the rest of us! Nice one GCN!
and here I am... sitting in Germany.. where it rains... and is cold... thinking to myself: "I need to quit my job and start being GCN presenter"! Great job guys! Made me a little jealous :)
Loving the format! Cheers lads

Excellent video - glad I am not the only one who stresses about losing/leaving behind my Canyon seat post holder
Well I had never travelled abroad before but you inspired me to head to the tour and knock off The Alpe and Ventoux. All with easy jet and it was easy!!!! If a chopper like me can do it then anyone can.
This is awesome! Can't wait for the actual rode!
More behind the scenes please. This was fantastic!
I love what you guys are doing. Your videos really help me to stand the bad and muddy weather and to keep me motivated. Although ... I'm a bit jealous.

Cannes - Cap D'antibes - Nice and the backyard ;)
well done guys, more of this style of filming please
Man I just loved your bike bag opening! Thanks!
Fantastic. It's on my bucket list.
Really like this behind the scenes. makes a trip like this look doable
Loved this!
One of the best videos you've ever made, loved it 🙂
Although, having said that, without the other videos it would be somewhat of a pointless video, which is an interesting quandary
Really like this video. Get yourselves to Norway! Looks stunning there
Loved this video, dream job
Loved this type of video!!
Remember those days when you could get on a plane and travel to other places in the world?
Wait a second, the biggest self check area but you have to board the plane by the stairs outside in the rain, I mean it's not like its ever good weather there 😂🤣 Sweet ride you guys ended up doing!! 🔥💪🤙
How can anyone not like this video?????
Excellent video guys, need more of this style, great subject and an insight into travelling with a bike box. Not always as easy as it says in the airlines bumf.
You were very lucky with the weather, it even snowed at the top of the island the past week and lots of wind too!
Great video. This is the kind of content I’ve been missing
+Big_ Ring_W thanks, really pleased you like today's video. Something we'll have to make more of.

What a great video. Really nice to see the other side of filming and you guys doing 'norm' stuff. Love it.
More of these after the pandemic pls!
Thanks Gary, hopefully we can!
Great story guys. I loved the recurring sun and rain theme! Time for a monthly destination adventure vacation show next?
There's certainly more in the pipeline, stay tuned!
love this kind of vlogs
god that looks glorious!! really looking forward to this one!
Nice to see you were able to fly on an A320NEO! Awesome :)
These guys have become proper superstars
Oh you are going to enjoy Crete as much and may be even more!!!
It must be awesome to work for a company that sends you in trips like this to ride. Lots of fun!
We're incredibly lucky!
More of these types of videos, really enjoyed it, although would have liked some more footage of some of the route
Penny Wise That’s today’s video!
Dan's hard-shell bike carrier is the way to go.
Great video. Behind scenes always interesting so more please including how GCN show put together and filmed!
I do enjoy these types of videos, dare I say, preferred. I would recommend introducing the camera crew as part of a fuller "behind the scenes" video.
100% epic clip👌👏👍🤗 I hope for more! Greetings from Germany
Like this film. Thx for posting
Gran Canaria Tourist Board will be most grateful I'm sure for putting this little gem on the map for cyclists.
Great video! Looks like a lot of fun.. makes me want to head south (we've just had about a foot of snow in Iowa - USA - in the last week)
Dan looked nakerd over beers. Great video Guys. Lanzarote has a few gems aswell
So envious, so beautiful, it almost brings me to tears. Oh also. Dan has the best hair. (no I'm not gay so lets stop those stupid comments right there)

Yep, check out the route in the description!
Great vid guys! The route looked "taxing", a bit like 23 across - 'making great demands' (6)
😉
You have given me the courage to consider packing my bike for a trip.
You'll love it!
Was looking forward to seeing some clips of the ride! & I have that exact same route saved on my Strava for the next time I go back to GC.
+Mark Vogler the ride video is coming up tomorrow evening
I was there when you were and passed you in our hire car on Friday - what an epic week of weather!! Looking forward to the actual video
This video just came up on my suggested videos today. What a difference a couple of years makes eh!?
I want to be a GCN presenter ! Looks like the best job in the world !
