So everyone keeps saying, but I'm just not hearing it. The 5.1 mix already gave a good surround impression and even at times made it sound like things were above you (similarly to the trick Master and Commander used). If you want to be blown away by sound, you need to watch Civil War.
Visually I thought the film never looked better other than some dated CGI, but I'm just scratching my head at the constant praise for the Atmos mix by everyone. For me, it didn't actually do much to improve the already decent (at the time) 5.1 mix, and I also think the dialogue was mixed very poorly compared to everything else. It was very thin and hollow sounding. If you want a new reference for Atmos, you need to watch the UHD of Civil War. Even when it was just streaming I thought it had one of the most impressive mixes I've ever heard at home. One of the most realistic for sure. So far, it's the one to beat in 2024 for sound.
I love this movie! I saw it with my ex-wife when it was originally released in theaters on opening day and I also got a chance to watch it at the drive-in theater here in town about a month ago. I also ordered the steel book and slipcover versions of this film. I can’t wait to watch it!I keep hearing about how great the Dolby Atmos track is on this. I can’t wait to see how it sounds on my system! Thanks for the great review!
Great transfer. Theater got a workout watching this. Wife didn't let me go past -20 so I had to rewatch it later just a little louder. Looked amazing. Sound was scary
The Dolby-Atmos mix rocks !
Agree 100% great sound experience alone
People don’t need to watch this movie for the visuals. They need to listen to the movie for its sound. It’s a masterpiece for sound
@@RedVersion89KENT yes it is

Looking forward to this one. Thanks for the feedback buddy.
The hot spot!

The new Atmos track has much better LFE and adds plenty of height effects. How is it not a significant upgrade? 🤔

Was the mentioning of the ex important to the story?

I like the Auro 3D better than the Atmos. The voice of god and the center front height really make a difference
It's soft because it was shot with old-school anamorphic lenses.
Turbine Atmos Mix Same than uhd us Twister? If Not where are the Main difference?
Mine comes tomorrow. Cannot wait. Glad you enjoyed it.
Now the debate gets hotter! Best Dolby Atmos 4K: “Gravity” or “Twister” 🤔
After more people actually watch Civil War, it's going to be Gravity vs Civil War.
Unless I got the wrong file I found sound average esp the bass
Got my copy today, can't wait to watch it.
Looking forward to getting this one and experiencing it in my home theater!
And the dialogue sounded fake and terrible
bass rolls off at like 50Hz, awful LFE track.
Pre-ordered on Amazon, will have it tomorrow! Btw, I have all twelve 18" drivers playing now, should be fun🙂
