I remember throwing my friend for the first time during a spar. He was like “Wow that gave me a new perspective on the world.” I was like “Yeah what was that?” He responded with “Upside down.”
We teach the kids in our club to use Ogoshi as a quick reaction to an over-the-back grip. If they get your back, shoot your hips in, follow in with your backstep, and throw. Often it is done Kenkayotsu. We, for whatever reason, have a good number of lefties in the club, so we all are in opposite stance about a third of the time.
The last time I wore my purple bjj belt to a judo class they all laughed at me and commented wtf is that belt? 😅 I wear my white belt now as I am a white belt in judo...
@@AniWho268 Was a new gym. I told the sensei I do bjj and I'm a purple belt. His like cool, ok you can wear that. Oh ok? So I did. Fuck did I walk into that one.
Im not so good with the ogoshi especially on wider/ bigger guys. This should help me. I got judo in an hour. I'll update back if I learned this way successfully haha
La ceinture violette n'existe pas au judo. Il salue en disant Ouss,on dit pas ça au judo. Mais Ré,er quand on salue au debut et en fin de séance mais'au sol, pas débout
if you do it like that without kuzushi you will get countered very easy Edit: I mean that you (as someone who's trying to learn) have to unbalance first before doing the Ogoshi, wich is the base for all techiques

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but you're telling an olympic gold medalist this.

@Mixmod Bakhtin he isn't teaching the basics of o goshi. He teaching the foot movement to make it faster.
