Un entusiasmante spettacolo musicale dedicato alle sigle dei telefilm degli anni '70 e '80: Star Trek, Spazio 1999, Love Boat, Dallas, Chips, Starsky e Hutch e tutte le altre che riemergono nella memoria di un tempo passato ma ancora vicino. A proporre questo insolito e simpaticissimo revival la New Project Funk Orchestra e Marco Pierobon, uno dei trombettisti più noti e virtuosi del panorama internazionale.

I've always loved Barry Gray's music, and turning the UFO theme into a jam session is sheer genius.

@@junction4bigband sorry David, only just seen your comment?!? My UFO is actually part of a selection of about 6 Gerry Anderson themes from Stingray to UFO. It's been on my "list" of things to rewrite as a booklet type form as the selection is a bit of a killer at about 8 mins long!

What no girls with purple wigs on! Always makes me think of the moon base girls when I hear this lol, they looked so sexy. Unfortunately UFO is the sort of 70s program that seems a bit anorak like, I always want to watch it alone like a guilty pleasure of my childhood. Even when I was at school most kids didn't seem to watch it, their loss but only a few mates also watched it, I loved it shame not everyone did.
All my friends watched UFO when it was re-run in the mid 70's. We would get together to see it at times.
I've got all the episodes on DVD. It's a great time capsule for just how people in 1970 envisioned the 1980's as being.
This is a great take on this music. Very cool. I do have to say that the costume kind of prevents me from sharing without an explanation though. :) Nice job.

Some lovely chords in this version that give the theme more resonance - however I doubt lead guy could pass as a SHADO operative in that gear even on the Moon base

The jazz improvs were nice and the overall ensemble was very solid. But I missed the organ part on the original. They have a keyboard player, but he has a stage piano (not an organ) and he really can't be heard. A nice organ solo would have improved things.
I wondered the same. They could have featured the keyboard a little.

Needs some underpants on the outside, and the half-time feel doesn't seem quite right.

GREAT music but... STUPID COSTUME! That costume was a really bad idea! Couldn't you find a space costume for instance? The sight of that stupid costume ruins a lot of the musical performance I think.
