Have you ever had prolonged hoarseness, sore or painful throat, or sudden change of voice? Did you see an ENT (preferably a laryngologist)? Also, here is my newest PLAYLIST: Singing If SICK - Should you? What to Do? ruclips.net/p/PLaWjWxiTysDD7ARzga3rdkc-xOKrR5v4H&si=D02ETFWwgU8D-puH
Of course, but for singers, I always recommend a laryngologist who specializes in the larynx over an ENT. my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/14520-laryngology
Victoria I just wanted to ask a question when you get off vocal rest is it normal to feel rusty and your voice feeling kind of uncontrolled. I had reflux so I've been on and off vocal rest for 4 months now its annoying because I want to record!!! Last I sang on Friday I felt a burning in my throat I don't know if it was dehydration or if it was caused from the reflux... I cwnt see an ENT for 6 months because in canada we have a very bad system.. but I guess that's the cost for getting it free! I dont have any loss of range or pain at the moment but i do have a thick phlegm feeling in my thoat!
This is not medical advice because I do not know your condition. I always recommend starting back slowly and easily after illness. This is EXCELLENT advice! I work in the field. Keep in mind that an ENT (ear, nose throat) is an otoLARYNGOLOGIST.
