This video is about the Isle of Safety, which sheltered trolley (and later bus) passengers in Downtown Hartford, Connecticut from 1913 to 1976. It is now at the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor, Connecticut.

I remember waiting for the bus with my mother when I was a kid, and now bring my grandkids to wait for the trolleys at the museum. It feels like I've gone full circle!

Another great video. My dad is taking us to visit our uncle, so dad said we are going to the trolley museum. You did Lord and Taylor, ever thought of doing East Hartford sights. I'm reading the history of East Hartford that my dad got when he was growing up in it.

I remember as a kid a sign in the Isle of Safety that said: NO SPITTING. I was also low bidder in the mid 1980s to move the structure to Barnard Park across from Park Street.

I saw the title and had to see this wow I remember the isle of safety in downtown Hartford. I don’t live very far from the museum I’ll bring my granddaughter. Never thought I’d be looking at history that I was part of and could show my grandchildren. Lol thank you for this
