  • Before Dunkin' (Donuts) Park was built in Hartford, Connecticut, there was a parking lot and before that a car dealership there. But before that there was a dense row of buildings that included a hotel, as well as wall paper, hardware and furniture stores. Find out about this lost piece of Old Hartford.

Another great video. I vividly recall this area. I took the bus from East Hartford, when I was a junior and senior in high school to Main Street, waited in front of G. Fox and rode to my part time job north up Main Street to a company located behind the old Fuller Brush building.

I’m from Massachusetts so when I saw Dunkin, I assumed donuts😂 I drove all over Connecticut for a job and loved the history. I’m enjoying these videos. Thanks

Very interesting...I work for the Yard Goats and it's cool to see how the area used to look and see some small fragments that actually still remain northwest of the stadium.

Love your videos! I hope this doesn’t come off as rude or demanding, but it would be cool if you made a video about the Civic center before the XL. I drive through downtown often and I always try to remember what the inside and area looked like before. Have a great day.

The taxpayers of Hartford paid to build both the Yard Goat baseball field and the Hartford Civic Center and its a dishonor to them to exclusively refer to those places with a commercial name. When these places need maintenance, who pays for it? The commercial sponsors will just pull out and not give a damn when the places make them look bad. If these guys want to pay to advertise at the taxpayers expense insist they refer to the places as The Yard Goat stadium sponsored by Dunkin or The Hartford Civic Center sponsored by XL. We should not let big business take credit for the sacrifices and hard work our community put into having these facilities. Truly the taxpayers should be insulted not to be acknowledged for the existance of their creations.
