Wonderful video! A possible idea for another video could be one devoted to long forgotten Hartford hotels - like the Hotel Hartford, Thomas Hooker, Garde, Heublein, Vendome, Allyn, Bond, Statler Hilton, even the Shoreham.

When discussing the 242 Trumbull Street building, how could you forget the most famous thing about the building. It was home to the offices of the Hartford Whalers.
If you ever would like to do the Hartford Armory, let me know. I can get you access to go inside and walk around, checking out all the memorabilia. I've always wanted to check out the Archway they built in the beginning of the river. I wonder if the two turrets on top have rooms in them.
Hi Dan, I have a paperback “book” that Society for Savings gave out when I was in Elementary school in 1969. We went on a field trip there, and got to go inside the vault, afterwards we were each given a copy. I lost my copy but found one on eBay of all places. I went to D.F. Burns school which is still on Putnam St. Can I send you a picture of the cover? I thought about it watching this video on Pratt Street.

I don't have any pics of that area. There might be something in the collections of the Hartford History Center at the Hartford Public Library.
