USING MATERIALS FROM MY LAND TO BUILD MY DREAM PROPERTY - OFF-GRID LIVING IN NORTHERN AZ

- My journey to 100% self sufficient continues as I make preparations to build an RV cover/awning over my camper. I'm using materials sourced from my land in order to get this structure built. I love using these tree trunks as part of the base structure, I think they look so cool. Hope you all are enjoying Memorial Day, thanks for tuning in! ~ Brian
Definition of "Off-Grid": Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities.
Self investment is the best investment. That property is looking great.
Those Gabion baskets are a great idea! Again, using materials from your property...repurposing vs buying. So smart! And they will look so good! The scenery as you travel to retrieve water is gorgeous! Those skies are to die for. Nice to see Sierra getting out and about. Slow and steady is good. Thanks for taking us along!

Brian, have you ever watched bushcraft videos on youtube? If not , you can get a lot of great ideas on utilizing natural materials found on your land there. They build the coolest stuff some of them...the bushcrafters....I'm glad to see you making progress. I live in PA but have been following your channel for a while now and cheer your progress on....good to see....
even with the rain Brian it still looks beautiful and peaceful enjoy
I could not even imagine living in such a beautiful, peaceful place. Take care Brian and sweet Sierra.
why could you NOT ? if you said its beautiful and peaceful?
you could run a few large spikes into the sides of juniper, it would help lock them in when covered by rock
Nice camp. You picked a great view. 👍🏻👍🏻
Gopher snakes are great to have one your property!
King snakes are better. But, it's too cold in my part of Arizona.
Those are great too!
Nice part of the world there, good onya mate, well done , enjoy 🤙🙂🦘
Thank you, I really enjoy living out here!
Beautiful Rain ☔ 🌧️ Beautiful day Good morning Brian and Sierra 💕 💖💖💖
We always called them Rock Jacks. In the Oregon Desert country at gate openings would be Rock Jacks. Thanks for sharing your videos. Jake McClellan The Oregon Boy 👦
This looks so comfortable.
Love what you are doing. Blessed man
I'd love to have my own land. This is the epitome of peace right here.
On another note, I'd never heard of a community well before.
Yeah, they are draining off the states ground water. Instead of harnessing rain water. Arizona has a water issue. Why y’all keep moving here?
@@oakmaiden2133Community wells draw from local aquifers which fill from rain and snow melt. The state relies on the Colorado River which is where the issue lies, not rural areas like this.
Hi Brian! Hi Sierra! FYI I've done rock projects before and I used a pitchfork to pick them. Saved my back for sure. Everything looks great there! Have a great week!
Hi Brian, Your so on top of it when it comes to getting things done. So blessed to have this place to call home. When I need a happy thought, I think of you and your land and how you came to own it. 🤗🌹✨
Love how you respect Nature's fellow inhabitants! It's amazing how many people needlessly hate Rattlesnakes! For starters they have the Decency most of the time to let you know they are there! We are in their space thanks to Development!
Keep the great content coming. Great to see sweet Sierra motoring around her homestead. 🧡
Thank you Margie, I'm very happy with the way things are coming along out here. Hope you have a great day!
Your doing great work on your land. Must feel so satisfying. Rufus and I wish you and Sierra a beautiful summer together ❤
Good idea on using the rocks to support the poles. I wouldn't have never thought of that! I would have tried to find a bag of cement and done it the city slicker way!! lol I forget sometimes how far you are from the big box stores! You sure have enough projects to keep you busy. Give Sierra a hug for me!!
Is it potable water or do you have to boil it? Sierra is doing so well. Love to see her checking out her home.
The community wells supply potable water, rainwater is non potable
Always happy to see Sierra beautiful as ever. There are soooo many people that would love to do what you arew doing and with the way things are going you certainly made the right move when you did!!
Great to see another video so soon. Man that rain is crazy.
glad u r back to make more videos.
Hugs and kisses to Sierra. It's gonna look great when you get it all done Brian. ❤❤
Thanks Marla, I'm excited with my progress so far!
What a beautiful flower at the beginning. Aww Serria❤
Love it! It's really coming together nicely. The natural beauty of your place is astounding.
Hi Brian and Sierra. Your posts for the awning are going to look great and be functional too for your water retention setup. Even the rocks look awesome. Hope you are having a great day and stay safe.
Thanks Alice! I love how my property is looking these days, can't wait to see what it looks like once I get everything built. Have a great Tuesday! ~ Brian
That is a good set up with the community well and those juniper poles should work out well.
Hey Brian. Love the videos and content you share. Sending good vibes for your girl Sierra. Looking forward to more. Thank you. "Some nomads are at home everywhere. Others are at home nowhere, and I was one of those." Robyn Davidson. Peace & good vibes to you and Sierra. 🤙🏽🐾
Hope you get everything done before winter starts. The drone shots are nice to see.
Thanks William, I'm having a great time getting all of this stuff dialed in. Hope you have a great Tuesday!
Amazing views!! Your home is going to be very special
Thanks Pam, I love the terrain out here!
happy to see your body guard is doing well.
Tip. Remove the bark and use a blow torch on the tree to cure the wood and save from rot. Lots of info on youtube on this and log cabin wood.
Hello, yeah I didn't feel the extra work was necessary due to the fact juniper is very rot resistant and this structure will only be up 10 years max. I'll eventually build my FS lookout tower replica in this spot so in 10 years these logs will still be extremely solid. It's crazy how there are still old cowboy fence posts from the 1800s around here which weren't fire treated, they would just stick them in the ground and let the bark eventually fall off. It's amazing how well this wood performs with minimal effort to cure it. Hope you have a great Memorial Day afternoon, thank you for tuning in! ~ Brian
id like to be apart of that out there , honestly...wish i new were and how...id fit right in im sure
Stunning, my dream is to leave like that!
I feel very fortunate to be out here!
Nice set up and view!! Had you not said Arizona...I would have thought you lived in Australia!! LOL!!
Looking good "bud"... Would love to have such serenity! What county would I look in for similar land?
Hi Brian. I think that was a gopher snake, great to have around to keep the rodent population under control.
Yeah, that was a Sonoran Gopher Snake...happy they are here to keep the packrats at bay!
A gopher snake or bull snake, but it certainly is not a garden snake.
Morning buddy!
Yo! Happy Memorial Day, Brother!
Hi Brian just saw your RUclips and subscribed… curious as to where your land is and how did you find it? Looking to move back to Az .
Hey were those rocks from the public driving road Brian!? 🤔🤣 or maybe from your driveway
Yep!
Is the water drinkable right, I out of the well? $92/year is very reasonable! Throw in road maintenance and it’s one hell of a deal! Good choice of land! Do you have to your share of road maintenance or is it contracted out? Thanxz
Hello from British Columbia Canada
🇨🇦🖐👍♥️🛣🌲🌳🖼🖌🎨🏮🤠🕶🐕
What part of northern AZ is that. What’s your nearest city. That area looks beautiful
Looks like your from Colorado also. How much is land and where is it in AZ?? Txs
👍
Those tanks are cheap enought I would get two and fill both at one time
how much water can you take per month? do you pay per litre? or what if someone needs more water then others ?
It was a gopher snake
Yo Brian - how many gallons of water are you legally allowed to take per year from that POA well???
Hey Deacon MMA, I'm allowed 4,000 gallons per month which I'll never come close to using. I'm kinda surprised it's such a high amount per resident, I assumed it would be much lower. No complaints here!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures that's awesome bro & well worth the $92 per year for that much water access & road maintenance!!! - thanks for the fast response bro!
Do you have to get tags for your trailer?
No, I don't have to tag it if I plan to just keep it on my property.
How is Sierra coming along?
Hi Kim, she's been slowing down quite a bit lately. It's been tough to see.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures 'm so sorry to hear this.
He has no rain water collection system huh?????
I don’t get it
What city are you in ? New suspicious
