Im noticing after I delete a default layer, a few minutes later Visio randomly creates new layers and assigns objects without my knowledge. It's as if its constantly scanning and sees a chair and says, "Oh! Thats furniture. I'll create a layer called furniture and put the chair in it". Any ideas on how to stop this behavior?
@@ITsEasyTraining1st - On closer inspection today I finally realized what was happening. I was copy pasting some shapes from another Visio floorplan and the shapes had already been assigned with layers. Also, default shapes provided within Visio have layer names assigned to them. So no matter where I was getting my shapes from they were ALL tagged with layer names. sometimes more than one layer.
Can 1 object be assigned to multiple layers? I'm creating a process flow diagram and I want to use layers to show the different possible flows, depending on the decisions made. Objects such as the decision box would need to be shown in different layers. Is that posible?
SO IS THERE ANY WAY TO MAKE ONE SHAPE APPEAR OVER TOP OF THE OTHERS? IS THAT NOT WHAT A LAYERING FUNCTION IN ANY OTHER PROGRAM WOULD DO? VISIO. IS. UTTER. TRASH.
@@ITsEasyTraining1st i know this is 2 yrs old but I think they're trying to do what I'm trying to do which is how layers work in art programs. I want to put certain layers on top of other layers and below others. For example, two rectangles with an arrow in between and the arrow is below the left rectangle but infront of the right. You can do this by individually playing with the "move back" and "move forward" options but it's tedious when you have a lottttttt of shapes
@@Dr.CalliopeTorres Layer can be turn on or off. I am not sure why it is not working. Just delete all the pre-set layers and then create your own set which can be displayed or not.
@@ITsEasyTraining1st nope not what we're asking haha! All layers need to be visible, just some overlapping others (not fully). You can see all the layers but some bits are behind some layers while in front of others. It's okay, I don't think visio has the capability- besides the tedious bring to front options I'll have to do haha
How to use layers in Visio. Check out courses at www.itseasy.co.uk or online courses at www.itseasytraining.co.uk
Love it

I will have a look. I have not seen that

Yes they can in layer properties and you can also view a layer spearately
Hi, Can you make boxes visible when pressing a button
I am not sure, you would probably have to create a macro
any way to use layers in VISIO web version?
not sure i don't have it
volume is too low.
Sorry about that

Do you mean to make it see through underneath
