I miss the 90’s so damn much! Back when everything was at its peak. Movies, TV, music, everything! Baywatch was the best thing on TV. The writers did an amazing job writing storylines about what being there for each other looks like. It shed some light on how important lifeguards are and what it means to the be there for others. As a 90's kid in Ireland this was like watching something from another planet. The power and beauty and wealth of peak USA. Sad to see the decline of California nowadays but the 80's and 90's looked like a blast
Over here in sweden too. Well, they had over a BILLION viewers every episode back then (atleast for a few seasons). Absolutely massive. Mostly thanx to pam i believe, lol
Baywatch was part of our lives during the 90's, we would go to school and talk about it and even over playgrounds we would discuss Baywatch, missed my childhood.
There is this strange feeling seeing the peak of the golden age in this intro, they already had everything that makes life easier in the 90s but without internet and smart phones, so they were still able to enjoy their lives as human beings.
There definitely was some cool camera work through out this series! Filming in/around water is NOT an easy feat. ALOT of people make fun of Baywatch, but geez, give credit where credit is due, this show hooked us back in every weekend!
Reminds of a time when tv shows were like mini events each week that we could all share together & talk about the next day. No toxic social media, less cell phones & without divisive political propaganda saturating everything. I'm sad no future generation will ever experience that feeling again.
Yep. It was better. So called " Social media " and cell phones made it all less social. In those days people actually interacted with each other. Now everybody is isolated and glued to their phones. I miss the old days to
hoedemakerbart I agree with both of you. Times were somewhat better back then and tv was A LOT better back then. They say leave your past in the past, but how can you do that when tv shows likes Baywatch was so good then.
I came here for the nostalgia of it. It feels cosy remembering watching this on a Saturday evening after spending the day with my friends and family. I was a kid then and it all just felt so much safer and lighter. I miss it.

I’m watching this on amazon prime and on season 1, episode 4. I love this show, I was born in 1990 but I just love everything about the 80s and 90s. I just love how there was no smart phones, kids dressed and behaved like kids, kids having fun outside and being active, not looking at a screen. Just more interaction with people, I love the 90s cheesy music too :D
I was never into this show but the intro gives me such nostalgic memories of my childhood before high-speed internet & smart phones when there would often seem like there was nothing to do but watch whatever happened to be on tv… and quite often that was Baywatch.

I go through intense emotions whenever I hear this. I was born in 1985 and I grew up watching “Knight rider“ with David Hasselhoff and then subsequently started watching “Baywatch”, usually with my grandmother. It was considered a wholesome family friendly show, and I started re-watching the show during the pandemic lockdown and I just found that it created intense emotions in me that almost brings me to tears, whenever I hear The theme song to Baywatch. I was born in 77, so a bit older & would have been in a different phase of life in the Baywatch years. I was never really a fan, but due to there only being 4 channels we all watched it from time to time. It's made me cry because we had potential & mobility in society that we don't now & being 30 years older doesn't account for that loss. We got robbed of something, not even gonna be subtle about who either, old mostly white people who were already really rich anyway took it from us.
