Honestly if it wasn't a gacha game, Genshin would be like one of the top 10 games _ever_ made. Absolutely massive world that puts even BoTW to shame and that keeps on growing, that also feels rewarding to explore from the amount of rewards spread across it. The hindering gacha factor isn't even that bad, because as a F2P it's easy to budget and guarantee any character that you want (as long as their rerun actually comes around, RIP Shenhe stans). The pity system is a lot more lenient than many other gachas, and the paid options like Welkin Moon are honestly a good deal, getting roughly 25% an entire pity just for $5.
I agree! for a F2P package, its one of the best, and while the gacha factor exists, its kind of a shame that its the reason some people turn away from trying the game out.
Even looking at voice acting gigs, there are a lot of fan projects in Genshin. Unfortunately they’re looking for imitation voices though instead of original voices. Though I’ve still only played 30-40 minutes of Genshin. I don’t think I’m a Breath of the Wild/clone game fan
Tbh I think the world building is what hooked most ppl in too - realized it after editing but they did a great job building the world which made ppl latch on and probably want to do those fan projects
