Tu-160 (factory designation: "product 70", designation of the developer - "K", according to NATO codification: Blackjack) is a supersonic strategic bomber-missile carrier with a variable sweep wing, developed at the Tupolev Design Bureau in the 1970s. This aircraft was SO good that it outperforms the B2 bomber twice in every category.... can carry twice as many weapons, for double the range, while flying considerably faster and higher up.

The russian air force still operates the TU160 in numbers. This example must of been left behind when the Soviet union dissolved.

@@timtec3000 Ви помиляєтесь: за весь час Росія добудувала лише один ту-160 (планер був збудований за часів СРСР).По кількості іх лише 17,якщо не помиляюсь.Дуже ненадійний літак.Навіть тепер росіяни не використовують його для обстрілу Украіни і користуються для пусків х 55,х 555,х 101 перевіреним і надійним ту 95.

I agree, but they don't probably have the money or the technical experience to operate and maintain such a complex aircraft. The Russian air force still operates the TU160 even ordering new airframes.
Наші союзники, в тому числі США дуже постаралися, щоб якнайскоріше роззброїти уламок СРСР, напічканий ракетами та танками. Але що ми могли вдіяти, коли при владі в нас були колишні комуністи, жадібна до наживи підла верхівка колишнього СРСР?
Цей літак НЕ був прийнятий на озброєння в СРСР, у ньому відсутні деякі важливі системи, експлуатація фактично неможлива, коли розробник за кордоном (Москва) і зовсім не дружньо дивиться на саме існування в твоєї країни армії, тим більше зі стратегічною авіацією. Як наприклад протектор колеса шасі замінити, чи сальник в гідравлічній системі?
P.S. За один політ цей неефективний монстр спалює 150000 кг палива, що рівнозначне польотам трьох полків винищувачів МіГ-29 у 60 літаків. А навіщо?

Очень жаль, что люди с эго и грубыми амбициями разрабатывают эти прекрасные машины только для одной цели! «Убийство и разрушение»! Может ли мир представить, что Локид и Туполев работали вместе, чтобы построить самолет для обслуживания пассажиров, который работал бы на нефтяном топливе? Всем пожалуйста, я американец.
