Man, one of my favorite conversations ever was with one of my best friends, a very big super Monster Hunter fan, in which I told him about the time Monster Hunter was in a fighting game with a story mode, only the story mode was shit, Monster Hunter didn't do anything in it, was literally chopped out of the default roster to be sold back to the player as DLC, and to add insult to injury, was one of the most interesting and fun-to-use characters because of their big, slow, full-screen combos. My best friend was so upset because for the first time in a while, he felt the sting of knowing your beloved childhood franchise was completely abused.
Every time I watch this playthrough, and they talk about Battle for the Stones, I want to know what the mind stone, so I'm going to leave this for anyone curious: The Mind Stone allows the Stone Bearer to control their opponent’s mind by choosing both of their characters and Infinity Stone. That shit is beyond getting the first free hit, that's just deciding to win in most cases.
I agree with the sentiment of "I'm tired of seeing DMC3 Dante". If (god forbid) we get a MVC4 that's faithful to the tone and gameplay of 3, I'd love to see them adapt 4 or 5's moveset.
Just thinking; how well would it play out if, for the final boss, if they took a page outta Smash Bros book and the big health boss battle, let you call in all the heroes, your first two/team dies, switch out to next two, so on
I have never seen a fighting game with such a lack of care put into its story mode before. Like, why even bother making a story mode if its just going to be boring?
Mike Patton, RIP, was the lead singer of Faith No More and the voice actor for Spencer in the Bionic Commando reboot. They made Spencer look more like Patton in that game and he retained that look for MVC3 and MVCI.
Watching this, I'm reminded how lucky we are that Pat and Woolie kept the ball rolling after the fall out. And Matt's not funny, just loud IMO, so trimming the fat is a big bonus!
It plays fine, it just looks like shit and there’s no real effort put into it. It also came out in a time where Marvel were not interested in pushing the X-Men while Fox still owned them.
Matt *still* isn't getting enough credit for "i've covered infinity wars yknow"
The most criminally sandbagged line in all of SBFP.
the way matt screams THATS FUCKIN LAME at 20:35 is perfect
Pretty much sums up MVC:I

Really? A Monster Hunter fan should know a thing or two about shit stories in video games
@@slicknicdwyer It wasn't so much the shit story that bugged him, but literally everything else.
@@slicknicdwyerYou shut up. Monster Hunter's stories are P-E-R-F-E-C-T

Woolie ended up being wrong, Ryu's just chilling in Sf6. Ken on the otherhand...
I love that Pat actively sounds like he's disappointed that Frank West had an ingenious solution to the Symbiote Monster Rampage.
8:46 love this Captain America Tangent.
21:44 He yells S.T.A.R.S even when no S.T.A.R.S. are around
Chris is standing right in front of him 😂

Big bo doesnt think Chris is a star. "A freaking star, man!"

33:50 maybe she’ll be in Max’s mod 🤷♂️?
What were they talking about Faith No More

I know Woolie is bad with names, but hearing him referrer to Mike Patton as "Faith no More Guy" hurt me mentally AND spiritualy
12:06 and then harada did that

If another mvc happens, I pray Spencer is booted out of the fucking game

Skele-tits. 40:55
Captain Marvel is just a cheap shitty Echo fighter version of Nova
i think a dev outright said "marvel is this game's nova"
Wow that game is awful!
