  • How does meditation affect the brain? Can it help a brain injury? Can a person living with a brain injury meditate? What kind of meditation is best?
Brain Injury affects 2.3 million Americans yearly, and meditation is an effective therapy for better brain function. Dr. Alarik Arenander is a neuroscientist, educator, national lecturer, and leading researcher in the neurobiology of brain development. His work has helped establish the field of neuroscience as science’s leading area for exploring human potential. You have helped me so much! I wanted to tell you a quick story. I just went to a neurologist. I explained everything that had/was happening to me. Guess what he said! He said it was likely a MOOD DISORDER. Wow. Thankfully I only went to get a prescription, but had I been expecting help I would have been crushed.

Are you saying in this video that a brain injury can be wholly cured by meditation?

definitely NOT. I would never make a claim like that about anything but many things can help tremendously

Thanks Nathalie, I pick a quiet time most days and try to clear my head. I'm not sure it's meditation but something close.

Is there a TM exercise example for having a direct experience?

I am now able to meditate some after unwinding my respiratory diaphragm (that was stuck from the shell shock of the impact)
But not sure what TM is…
I’m best to learn through a participating experience.
