I just finished the "A" model , and I can tell you , it's the best model of anything I have ever built in my 60 years of building !
The latest Spitfire kit and the P-38 Lightning are also great kits to build!...
"Wow" is an understatement. A winner for Tamiya.
Patiently awaiting a Tamiya F-22 1/48...
YESSSSS!!!... I saw a demonstration flight of the F-22 in an airshow last November and that plane is beyond awesome...the way it turns in mid air is unbelievable!!!...
I will loose my mind if it is ever announced
Thank you, Andy. Got it on order with your store.
I pre-ordered this from you a few days ago, and now... I am really excited about this kit. The details are amazing! I'm really glad they have the marking for a Miramar based squadron as my Dad was stationed there when it was Navy. I have the A&B models ready and waiting to be built at the same time. This is a great time period to be into this hobby!
Japan is soooo advanced when it comes to model making/production. The details of this kit is insane!
I LOVE how you have kept the same video entro since the beginning!!!!!!
When I hear 1:05 I know I'm in for some modeling nostalgia 😌☺
Hey...Hello from Wisconsin. And I love the F-35C. I fly it in MSFS. Haven't gotten it in plastic form yet...but I probably will. Thanks for the video. And in WI...there are F-35's flying around here all the time...I call them the Weekend Fly-boys...smiles.
I've been working on the engines for all 3 versions of the F-35 for numerous years, and Tamiyas the only one to get its looks correct.
Are the “panel” details really that proud of the fuselage on the real bird? Looks exaggerated to me.
@@andyconway5610 They are. I work in the Fort Worth factory. The panel details are actually much thinner on the real thing.
@@andyconway5610 It would have been better if it was just a decal. They are not elevated, but everyone does that for some reason.
The weapons bay looks amazing. The fittings are very well moulded - it's as if the have somehow slide-moulded the details.
Andy lives in my dream
Two canopies - to display both open and closed positions - just like the F-35A model!
Great looking kit!! 👍👍
Can’t wait!!!! Have two of them on pre-order…..BTW….The C model has a larger wing than the A and B….
That is a sweet looking kit!
incredible detail!
Preorder for $70.40. Not a bad deal Andy, thanks!
It really suits the bigger wing definitely tempted with this one a month to clear the bench for it 😂 cheers for the early preview.
Beautiful kit!
That looks awesome, thanks for the preview.
Now, if Tamiya would finally release other versions of the F-4 Phantom
Hi Andy, I hope you're well. I have e watched your channel now for many years and thoroughly enjoy it. That said lately, the absence of an actual model being built which is a shame.
Please can you start produce build videos again.
A nice kit. The Vincennes was a cruiser. The Carl Vinson is an aircraft carrier.
hehehe would love to see them land a F35B on the Vincennes! :)
Thanks Andy, great video.
Looking forward to making this one!
I believe the reason for 2 canopies is if you see there were two frames, one in the open and one in the closed position, the frame and canopy are glued together but popped onto the model and allows you to switch between open amd closed without being locked into just one is my guess.
Love the F35 but I've been hoping for them to do an F 15 Srike Eagle like the one in 1/32 ! And by the way, the reason for two smoked canopies is a choice between open or closed!
Tamiya weren't messing around with this one were they? To be honest, you got my full attention with that first sprue.
I knew you were impressed just by the tone of your voice (me too.) Please tell us that you're going to make one, pretty please....
Are the two canopies so you can change the canopy from open to close after the kit is complete?
Great review, Andy. It has nice detail, especially in the weapons and gear bays....but it still does not come close to what's inside the real ones. I know...I work on them in the factory in Fort Worth. Of course Lockheed will only release so much info.
Consider to build one Andy?
Must have!
Yeah I just handed in all my pre-orders today in and this is part of my collection thanks for having pre-orders. So any word on when the Yamato is coming in and why no pre-order for that thanks Walter?
WOWEE WOW WOW! 😂
Probably won't be building that Kitty Hawk F-35C that I have in the stash!
How are things going with your new location going? I hope all is going very well.
Anyone else think the nose of that plane resembles a Kookaburra. 🤔
Wonder how many of Andy's viewers know what a kookaburra is .
I see a Seagull , right colours too . M
Makes me miss the fatter one from the X-35 tbh
Not until now. Now I can't not see it lol
Amazing, how do I order
missing your builds James
One of the canopies is clear, the other a goldish color.
Tamiya always manufacturers the best plastic models. Can't beat Tamiya's quality, ingenuity, and detailed but not. Cluttered as many Chinese model makers, the parts fit like Lego blocks. Did i mention Tamiya has the best manuals too. So, will this model be released in early December?
nah theyre way overrated and priced Everyone from meng to border are releasing kits with metal barels and 3d printed parts while Tamiya can't even bother to ditch woefully outdated vinyl tracks for their /35 lineup
BUILD IT
One canopy is tinted
Both are tinted, you simply can make them in open and closed position and swap at any moment.
I genuinely appreciate the quality of Tamiya’s tooling for the F-35 family-there’s no doubt it’s a straightforward, hassle-free build with impressive results. But to be honest, the F-35 itself, especially with its limited, almost monotonous paint schemes, has to be one of the dullest aircraft visually right now. As much as I admire the engineering behind it, it just doesn’t have the visual appeal that makes other models exciting to build and display.
The C is the best F-35 because it has more wheels.
日本では 未発売です 海外では 先行新発売は うらやましい!( ´∀`)b 完成は 気長に お待ちしています
I built a Meng 1/48 F-48 a couple of years back and I still have PTSD from taping off all the recessed areas. I really hope some aftermarket company steps up and makes a masking set for the C-version.
Just a comment for the algorithm.
@@robertjensen1438 just a don't bother , for the algorithm.
How much wil this joker cost ? £ 160 ? 😂😂🤣🤣👎👎👎👎
As Andy stated list price is $88 USD which I believe is about £68. But pre-order is $70 USD or about £54.
