Ruination, the biggest lore event: no progression for characters, except for Thresh (Akshan and Gwen doesn’t count, cause they didn’t exist before event. And Viego released just to lose his queen and be trapped again)
Pentakill, doesn’t have its own event: creating the world with ancient gods of metal, having a great antagonist and revealing what leads to existence of KDA and Seraphine (in lore)

I honestly think Pentakill is not in same “universe” as the way we thought, Pentakill could appear as a virtual band in K/DA world (which is technically our world, The Earth), just like how Star Guardian is just a manga in Odyssey. Otherwise, Riot basically said we used to worship Metal and nothing else, and DJ Sona’s hair can fly (Seraphine’s poster).
Yup, that's most likely how it works. Though since Riot never has to address this connection, we can pretend Viego spawned Seraphine :3

or they are all real in the music universe, and this is just a PR stunt the band likes to do with their funding. A lot of music groups irl have "Lore" even though its not real.
It's a big stage gimmick, otherwise Pentakill wouldn't have helped Viego make his pieces have more kick to them. I do want to know the IRL version of how the band came up with such an idea.
Alright the thought of a “Praytar” is really cool to me. I’m just imagining a regular communion in a church and then the priest says:
“And on the third day, our Lord said thusly: *shreds sick guitar solo*” 🎸🎶
Amen is just replaced with another sick guitar solo. That would be a sight to see: just a crowd of people playing a guitar solo in perfect unison.

I love this. "Praytar", "Stringstress", "Roadwalker"... all this sounds so over the top, kinda like something out of Penny Arcade.
Pentakill was late for the Dissonance because they had to console Yorick for what happened in his Role in the Ruination Event.
The mental image of like Karthus, Mordekaiser and Olaf buying Yorick a drink to cheer him up is somehow weirdly wholesome
When a "small lore" is better than the big lore that you put enough effort, to in the end make it ok to bad at best.
Pentakill obviously had a lot of work put on it, we can tell the people that worked on it were really passionate about the project, issue is when the marketing team is a bunch of idiots.

I was waiting for the part where I would turn against Viego, but no, he was literally right and won in the end. My King.
They did Viego dirty. Mans was the real mc.

So yeah, Viego won. He was right and he changed everything. He actually won, doesn't matter if Penta kill there doesn't matter if the noisome host is still there,Doesnt matter if he Died or not. He did what he said out to do Show them all bring new music and make change.
And he got KTFO and sacrificed in the end so, I guess that means we're all winners
Imagine if this was a event in game. Playing for progress, unlocking the songs, helping viego, maybe even a new game mode like metal based odysee, all ending in huge hype for the live concert on the last day. But i guess that would be too much for the client.. instead we got.. well nothing honestly, not even a 3rd Pentakill icon.
Probably because Ruination flopped Riot thought "well, too bad, I guess they don't like these events"

like the old star guardian events and stuff? If Riot still did these wacky events with unique mechanics I would have loved to see a Guitar Hero-like minigame with snippets of Viego's songs and Pentakill as teasers, allowing us to choose which side we want. And depending on our performance we would get bigger progress rewards, hell it could have been a teambased progress bar so "Veteran" Rythm game players could carry their teams so the newbies can focus on the fun. I don't play League anymore but I would sure login to play Rythm minigames in the client.
I believe Pentakill’s lore is designed within the KDA universe, rather than it being the precursor to it. Plenty of metal bands create lore surrounding their music. So while Pentakill does exist in KDA, I’m not necessarily on board with its lore being canon to KDA

I honestly think that Rito's writers took inspiration from Brutal Legend, which is VERY underrated and awesome game, actually it's one of my top games ever made and seeing the similiarities makes my hearth warm.

I guess at this point Riot just retconned Pentakill again...for those who dont know, they were a band from Runeterra when all started, but KDA kind of retconed that, first Evelyn mentioning Karthus as her inspiration or something, then later making KDA part of the real world. The Pentakill album covers I take more as easter eggs more then anything, but I am sure Riot just retconed Pentakill lore again with this event.

I can't tell if Pentakill lore is just made up for fun as a PR thing in the music universe or it's the actual history where humans used to worship Rock in the past, and after the incident with Viego, it spawned other genres of music. I'm fine with either but the latter is much more awesome.
I wonder if, on the off chance no one would click during one of concert's segments, Riot would let Viego win.

While the whole event being decided by the playerbasr would be cool, don't think Riot would do it...the effort required for it would be huge, since would basically double it
they did that on the legends of runaterra ruination event, in wild rift also, and guess what, viego won in both events because we choose him over the centinels xD so they did not let us choose on this because riot knew we would side with our metal daddy viego, and they wanted pentakill to win

imagine this is like a debut for Viego in colab with Pentakill, the band and the singer quite friendly afterward and hang out after or at a fan meeting with the KD/A.

Bands like Pentakill just has that lore and personality going for them. They proabaly just regular people who play heavy metal and Viego was a solo act that probably collab with them

Maybe you missed this but Melodie's voice is used half way through the scrolling art work, to which she finds viego and is left in a screaming state of agony and pain. We can likely assume she is dead.

I know Riot probably meant to use noisome’s second definition but I can’t help but laugh at the idea of the “Gods that smell like shit”
It's hilarious, that to get pop music you actually have to have a very simple rhythm, while metal, jazz, some sub genres of rock, electronic music might have complex changing tempos throughout, so breaking a metronome shouldn't bring pop music
