After 4 years, a puzzle has been revealed. May I live long enough to witness all the lore of League can give. All the missing pieces that brings joy to all lore lovers. Kudos Necrit, a survivor from 2021.
I'm so sad he isn't. As a Yorick main, I hear his voice lines all the time. About how he wants to save the isles from corruption. Yet riot games want to make the popular champions part of the lore....

I have 2 theories. 1) The fabled "Ruined King" was named Madred. If you look at the game, Blade of the Ruined King was a replacement for Madred's Bloodrazor. They both have pretty much the same stats. The reason the +25 armor was not added to bork as it was in Madred's Bloodrazor could be because, due to the death of his queen, Madred's defenses were weakened. (Honestly I'm not sure if this theory is even valid) Or 2) The "ruined king" was the husband of Avarosa. "Lissandra engineered the death of her sister Avarosa, the true queen of Freljord, although what transpired is known only by the Ice Witch herself." the lore. Which would suggest that Bork originates from Freljord. Now, if you have heard Kindred's quote when it buys bork, Lamb says "forged in a land unwelcome to us". Which would make sense seeing how the Watchers could have had magical powers to keep Kindred at bay. Since they were immortal, and they could grant people immortality. It would seem like the most unwelcoming place for someone like Kindred, who is known as the apparition of death. Also, please do add the link to the poem on Shadow Isles. Thanks!
That kindred interaction means that kindred hated the mist/shadow isles because kindred is the personification of death, and the people in the shadow isles cheated death.
I think the second one would make sense since braum was one of the teased champion in Ruined King game, and we don't know how and why Braum was there in bilgewater and going to shadow isles.

I watched this one lore video on the old yorick and i think i like it more. grave digger familey and yorick is cursed with a burden of digging, he died mysteriously and showed up at the shadow isles, thinking he could dig more and more graves till he finally meet his quota to goto paradise, however that quota never came, so he decided to join the league of legends so people would remeber, yorick mori. its so sad and depressing but i think its fucking awesome.

I think Jeddy's right. If I recall, the way Riot explained Yorick's ghouls is that they were containers for globs of mist which contained several souls. The Maiden, I assume, is just a very large one of these containers.
