Unfortunately, the door trim in the VW Eos is glued into the door. But thanks on the dash instructions. I plan to swap the silver with the wood trim taken from another Eos.
Great video thanks. Quick question here: Can it be possible my golf 5 don´t have trims ?? I think I have a single solid piece withouth detachable trims :/ I have a Golf V Trendline
Is the door trim on the Golf S removeable. I tried to remove mine like in the video but it seems to be moulded with the adjacent door trim. I left it in case i damaged it and the surrounding area but if i know it can be taken off, i will give it another go.
@@RYO-dy8rkNo. You have to either change the door card or cut out the opening along the moulding lines. I decided to send the silver trim moulding back to the seller for a refund as i did not know if the fitting holes will be there if i cut the moulding. You could check first at the breakers on a golf then decide.
How to remove steering wheel trims? The ones where are the buttons. I would like to take them out and repaint them, do I need to take off the airbag or do they just pop out?
The interior trim on my golf 5 - 2004 cannot be removed cos it's attached with the other parts of the dash. Is there any possibility to apply the carbon vinyl without removing them ?? thanx a lot.
+adnan Xhemajli Is it a mark 4? I thought the golf 5s started in 2005.5, but maybe that's just in the United States. And it can be done it's just more difficult because it will have to be shaped perfectly and not wrapped around the actual part. My VW emblem carbon fiber inlay video has a technique in it that might work if you definitely can't figure out how to remove the trim. I hope this helps!
@@RYO-dy8rk @CashedOutCars it is the first type of golf 5 production and the trims are attached or let me say welded with the dashboard, so I coudnt remove.
When it pops lose, you will feel like you broke it. Is there any way to make the plastic less likely to crack before doing trim work? My car is 11 years old now, and the heat isn't kind to the interior (though it's much better than on my Mk4).
Great video! Getting tired of the engine spun metal trim in my R32. Ever remove the trim around the shift knob? and in your vinyl video how much material did you use/buy?
+Evan Pickard I haven't removed it all the way, however i'm pretty sure it just prys off too. You can see the part well in my shift boot change video. And I just bought a roll off of ebay that was 24 inches by 60 inches and it was plenty, I have tons left over. I'm not sure how much I actually used. Good luck!
+franfred12 just peel it off carefully, you might have to use heat but it shouldn't damage it. It might leave glue residue but that could be taken off with chemicals like goo gone. Then you can use a plastic polish if you want to shine it up
I wrapped mine in comic book paper and did the the whole center console piece, the cupholder piece, the lower console piece (which was a bitch. I get compliments on it and everybody thinks it's sticker wrapped when i tell them it's actual comic book pages they trip.
+CashedOutCars check out my video @ 14:49 you'll see my interior "Hot Import Nights Scottsdale, AZ 2016 I entered my car and I have other vids with my car as well!

Great tutorial, i used a knife to take them out as i didn't have any plastic tools but by being careful i didn't damage any of the plastic.
Just watching this in the uk brilliant trim looks amazing good job you have done there.

This is a really well formatted DIY. Thanks!

+Mr Luca it probably is possible, I've only really worked with my US spec car
The EU 1.6's often don't have that trim piece. I know because my golf doesn't it's a whole solid piece

Thank you for informative video.
Is the procedure same for Passat B8 doors?
You’re welcome! haven’t done it personally but I can’t imagine it’d be too different. Good luck!
The black carbon fiber looks good. Where did you get your vinyl
Thanks! This is a very similar product: amzn.to/3tha8aY
Good video. Excellent narration. Look forward to seeing your other stuff.
+Matt Bartol thanks! If you own the Miata in your profile picture I think you'll be very happy with the channel!

Heat it up before you pop it out, heat makes things less brittle and prone to breaking, and be careful!
Are those trims carbon fiber at all?
I used carbon fiber vinyl to give it that look
what size of vinyl did you buy? will 1520mm x 600mm be enough to cover the trim
Hey man! How did the vinyl wrap on the trims hold up in time? I want to do the same on my G5, hope they last.
It held up well! If you take your time and clean the parts you're using, and get a high quality wrap you shouldn't have an issue
@@CashedOutCars thx for answering man! Wish you all the best.
Nice look and very informative! Thanks!
+Joel Miller thanks! I'm glad it helped you out
Thanks man, just painted mine red. Think I’ll go for the carbon fibre look after this
Glad to hear it helped!
Thanks used this for my mk5 r32. Because if you didn't know you'd break the hooks
Awesome, glad it helped you out!
How much material did you need for the trim I have a mkV gti and I wanna do the trim just want to order it and be lazy and measure it out
+Andrew Ross I bought a 5x2 foot piece which did all this trim and the trim around the radio and I still have some left over

+Michael M I believe that it should be the same but I can't guarantee it, good luck!
Harder to put em in then take em out somehow broke a clip while putting them in
looks much better than that factory shit...good job
There was a factory spec that came carbon fiber
How can I remove the wrap without damaging the glossy finish on the trim?

thanks a lot dude

Thanks for such instructive video.
AWESOME!!! Great vid.
How do you remove the centre where the radio etc is
Check out my "How To Install Carbon Fiber Vinyl" video on my channel, I show you how to do that in there.
To the point. Good
I wonder why they changed the name from golf to rabbit for the US?
I'd guess they were probably trying to revive the name from the first generation Rabbits just for a heritage kinda thing. I like my Wabbit though!
