Wow, what an ordeal to remove plastic… Those trim triangles were the most difficult to remove. I used trim tools and was gentle, but I also tweaked a couple of those plastic thingies, one broke off in the console clip.😩 (Thankfully I bought a plastic welder before embarking on my Jetta improvements knowing I’d break off or split at least one plastic part. Next stop: 3D printer…👍🏼) Thank you for this video. It’s very thorough. You’re in my Jetta, on my iPad, with me while I do this project. 😄
A little late but do you have to take the rear of it off? I see in your video you have the rear removed. I have to replaced my shifter assembly but I just need the center part taken out unless you have to remove the whole thing.
If you are here because you only want to replace the slider of the cup holder, you dont need to remove everything. Just push aside the top part of the slider and slowly insert your new cover slider thing until its all in ( you have to remove the old one first if it was broken like mine, i just used something to push it out via the holes beneath the rubber mats/padding. hope this helps someone
Hello Ar T, I have the same problem with my car but I need more details on how you put back the new slider(the old one I remove it as you described here)

Thank you this helped. I wasn’t pulling the parking break up enough and it was blocking the consoles exit!

Thanks for the tip, I don't look forward to removing the whole console for this one small thing. I'll try your method first.
Thanks so much, mate!
Hello, you have made an excellent tutorial video, thank you very much

God bless you
@@ghitaroberto9960 god bless you too!
Can you do this without removing the arm rest?
Thanks A lot for this video....❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic 😊
You have to remove the rear part of the central console right?
The console won't move with the rear part installed
Hellomoneyful Yup! You have to do exactly like I showed in the video tutorial.
@@Servicetutorials You never showed how to remove the armrest/rear section of the console. It just wasn't there after step 10.
@@ASSOpid We have another video tutorial for armrest: ruclips.net/video/Vl0ZLX_Hhxs/видео.html
Did you think about removing the nob and the boot before removing the console? Would've been easier than that struggle at the end of the video
would of been 200x easier.
Need to run a wire from head unit to hand brake switch - is this the best way - thx
Did the armrest have to come out first to do this ? Thanks
Nick Fadis Yes, Nick! You have to remove the armrest first.
@@Servicetutorials how you managed to pull up the handbrake high enough to take out the console?
@@nicky1271 did you ever work this out?
