For the first time, after decades of acquisition, all but three tax lots within the town are offered for sale. This 250 acre, 28 parcel highway and riverfront package consists of rural commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, farm forest and timber resource zonings. Crucial water rights and existing infrastructure present endless possibilities. Incorporate the community and create rare opportunities not found anywhere else. Douglas County is eager to see the south county’s inventory of commercial, industrial and natural resource zonings prosper.
My grandparents homesteaded close to there. Some of the happiest times of my life were spent in the mountains and streams around Tiller.

This is what Oregon Looks like. It is beautiful.
Mostly on the west side of the cascade mountains it is very pretty. Eastern Oregon is considered a Transitional Desert. I lived in Oregon in the 1960's and in the late 1970's and it was very pretty! Trying to get steady work there back then was nearly impossible so I left. Now I am retired and considering moving north again but probably to Western Idaho.
home sweet home....one the best places on earth. No Doubt.
Beautiful video...VERY well done!
Would love to be able to purchase this and offer those willing to come and populate it a piece of the settlement. To be able to build toward a rather specific theme and see about making sure all the homes, businesses and other structures are green energy, perhaps rebuild some with hempcrete, recycling all and any materials. Making a vital system of green energy, high speed internet via cable & satellite, maintain a clean water, low pollution and co-habitation with the natural environment. Community of all for one and one for all feeling, if someone needs help the community will come together to offer it. A place that's a Sanctuary from the chaos and troubles of the world.
have you found any places where communities actually help each other instinctively?
@@utubit22 Yes it’s called “outside of America”
Beautiful....!
I spent a whole summer living in a tent by the creek care taking. Awesome times.
care taking who?
if i had the 4 million i'd love to buy this rural area town "tiller oregon"
i'd buy an leave it how it is i wouldn't build a thing. i'd start a big homestead, employ the few that live there, we've got stop building & building or were left with abandoned buildings to rot for years. we need country towns i've been in Oregon all my life
are you Sam Elliot?
This EXACTLY who I imagine is narrating this.
Love your voice.
Yes, Sam Elliott has the best voice ever!!
This reminds me of the movie. A river runs through it.
I had a man at my register yesterday who lives there and told me it was bought by Chinese interests who are going to put in a huge destination park of some kind. I hope that isn't' true, but if it is, there goes another beautiful piece of Oregon to communist foreign interests. I am so sad. I spent so much of my childhood at Ernie and Gracie's house and garden behind the tavern. What a shame all that beauty is gone forever.
No price?
beef its what for dinner and ford truck built tough ; ) good old sam elliot i hear he even lives in oregon on a ranch some where between eugene and salmen but towards the coast range, i miss those areas, live now up in northern alberta canada in a small village surrounded by the queens land, but we some times think of sale-ing to move south, and this would be perfect, but if we sale the oil/fracking industry would destroy our area so were staying to protect it
the pacific northwest is the emerald jewel of north america
Who produced this video and did the VO work please? It's outstanding and I am interested in possible collaboration.
was it sold ?
I wonder how many millions this goes for?
Is this still for sale?
Oh, what would I do for superior credit!
Take a check? I'm short on cash...
Ok being serious it's up for 4 million I think ? Is that price fixed or open to offers ?
fog360 Bushcraft
Where do you live?
Uk
fog360 Bushcraft why u gonna buy it if u from the uk
Good business investment, with some friends
***** ok cool u got that ton of money?
Holy shit, an unincorporated piece of land. If someone bought that land and kept it unincorporated, that right there could be a new free country. Yes, small, but federal and state government could have NO control over the people on that property since it's not incorporated.
TCHF Trevor & Cheyenne Horticulture & Farming Lets go get it. Adverse possesion is legal.
Did they ever sell this town? Gosh, this makes me so sad to watch.
I hope a conservationist obtained the land.
It makes you wonder who the town went bankrupt to, who now owns the lean and is trying to sell it off. Could be the state of Oregon or perhaps Chase bank. Oregon has been selling off state owned lands lately because it's budgets are way under water. But banks normally hang onto land until inflation due to their money printing allows them to exit properties at a "profit".
AFAIK some real estate company bought pice by pice in the last years after most citizens moved away due to the closure of a sawmill.
Great Video. I've heard this song before. I can't remember where. Does anybody know?
"October Sky" by Mark Isham, main theme to the film October Sky
Better like Meth if you want to move there.
Scott Hunt
how much.
3.85 million
What's that accent from?
Ponderosa! Bonanza!
That land Is far more prosperous without people than it ever would be with "land development" and such. It's a shame that it's being sold, especially because of the way this land is being marketed. Advertised as "pristine" but the living forest being veiwed as "standing board feet" instead of the home that it is for many critters... any time this ad says "pristine conditions" it also says "ready for the buyer to destroy it forever". When those trees get cut down, the critters will go somewhere... most likely right into that town. Any smart person that buys this property with plans for a future would leave those trees alone. This kind of crap makes me want to puke... obviously this land is in the wrong hands though.
is this another CULT/SCAM?
