You should have a look on the highlights of yesterday's derby between Dynamo Dresden and Energie Cottbus. The supporters and the game itself were spectacular. The last time this match was played, is 6 years ago already and it's one of our big eastern-derbies - so there's a big rivalry between them. Pretty decent atmosphere for a third-division-match.

Thank you for the Video from my hometown and my favorite club, where i was able to play for 3 years as a child. The Town, the region and the fans certainly deserve to be in the 2nd or 1st Bundesliga, but we have had bad luck with investors in the past. For this reason, the members have a great right to have a say in the club, unlike Red Bull Leipzig, for example, which has no members. If you are back in Dresden for a game, let us know and we will really experience Dynamo.

Finally someone is mentioning the D.E.F.C. from 1873 which was indeed the first football club outside of Great Britain. Not many know that, not even in Dresden. English guest workers used to play on a lawn approximately where todays Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion is located. In 1898 the Dresdner SC was found, partly by former members of the DEFC. They won the cup in 1940 and 1941 and the championship in 1943 and 1944. After the war the GDR regime did everything to destroy the club (because DSC was upper class and not working class) and supported the newly found Dynamo club instead. The DSC got banned and only restarted in 1990. After a quick rise to 3rd tier in the 90s they fell to 7th tier. They have their own home, the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion and a crazy history. Maybe you can make a video about that club as well. Love from Dresden.

It's actually disgusting how East German teams were mega disadvantaged by having less than a handful of their teams join the Bundesliga after reunification. Dynamo Dresden and BFC Dynamo (Dynamo Berlin who aren't allowed to be called that because of "Soviet" connections) would've been Bundesliga mainstays if ran properly and not shafted to the lower leagues like the majority of East German teams.

I personally feel they have made the same achievement as the Bundesliga champions so it ought to be included as their present day first division title records for example just like how Liverpool’s 2019-20 Premier League title was added to their 18 First Division titles making it 19 altogether. You can not compare this. The PL is the successor of the old First Division while DDR league was in another country, a better second division. When GDR teams played first time in Western league all GDR teams in 2nd Bundesliga Northern and Southern Division three out of six teams ended on the last places and were relegated. In First Division Dresden ended on place 14 while Rostock was relegated. Ten years later Hansa Rostock was the only ex GDR team that remained in the first wo leagues.

@@RysFootyParadise It's a bit difficult to understand the GDR football system from the outside. Most clubs were affiliated to companies, so-called company sports associations (or in german: BSG = Betriebssportgemeinschaft). Others were army sports clubs. And then there were the police clubs, such as Dynamo Dresden and BFC Dynamo from Berlin. There was also no free transfer market like in England or West Germany. Players were delegated. That's why sports officials from the SED (the one big party in the GDR) often decided which players had to play where. Even the players had little say in the matter. Erich Mielke, the head of the STASI, was a big fan of BFC Dynamo, which is why some of the best players in the GDR were always delegated there. And games were also manipulated in Mielke's interests.

13:45 no he was right. At least last Season (2023/24) we had an average of nearly 30k Fans (including Away Fans) in the RHS. Nice you visited Dresden! We all in Dresden hoipe that one day we will play again in the Bundesliga. Our core slogan is "Wir haben einen Traum" (means "We have a dream"). It refers to the goal of achieving 100 matches in european cups. For now we are stucking at 98 matches still from the GDR-Time. So one day maybe, we can play in the Conference League, Euro League or maybe even the Champions League. It's a long way still to go for it. But we have the model of Union Berlin. So its possible. Ever east-german club has a very big pride. It's a shame for many of us Dynamo Fans only playing in the 3rd Devision of german football. But anyway with Aachen, Essen, Cottbus, Rostock, Bielefeld, 1860 München, Aue, Saarbrücken, Mannheim and Osnabrück this Season we have a good field of participants with huge tradition and crazy fans like us, so it's less that bad. :D

I hope you make lots & lots more German football content in the future the more the better.
I would say my favourite clubs in Germany are
    Hamburger S.V ,
    Hansa Rostock & Bayern
Rangers have a very close friendship with
Hamburger S.V & there as a Rangers supporter club from Larne & they followed
    Larne , Hansa Rostock &
Rangers, but as far as I am aware, the supporters club no longer exists .
    I absolutely can't stand
    Borussia Dortmund &
Saint. Pauli with their friendship with Celtic.
Their is more German clubs. I like than hate, to be honest. I just like the entire fan culture in
    Germany.
    The good thing
about Dynamo Dresden is they play in my favourite colour combo.
When are you planning on making more German content ?.
I agree with you 100% about
    The Premier League in
England, it's difficult season after season after season now to see anyone, but
Manchester City is winning it, getting more & more predictable as
    as the seasons go on
    It was good to see
Aston Villa do so well last season. I just can't see
anyone getting remotely close to stopping City winning the title again, not Arsenal, not anyone.

      I would say the
      North West of Germany
is a football hotbed due to the fact that whare was a lot of heavy industry in that part of Germany in the past.
I dont like the term farmers league as it's disrespectful to any country's football league
& it's like saying they dont have the right to play the game at all plus to me it's a bit of an American term that has creped in to
      standard English.
      I do think in Scotland
our club game is now a day's a backwater for the game.
      I think we have seen
in terms of German football the 50 + 1 rule is only 50% of the answer but it's still open to manipulation look
at R.B Lipzig & the money
Bayern get from Audi yearly though sponship deals.
Hamburger S.V have one of the highest memberships in Germany
but the club has been run shambolicy off the pitch at all levels in recent times.
It's sad what is happening to our game greed is destroying sport in general
Red Bull & The City group are playing a massive part in that we also have so much financial greed in the game now at all levels
      players, agents, owners
      T.V company's & kit manufacturers they are
all extremely greedy when it comes to money
but in Germany fans unite against it here in the U.K we are all just to happy
to sitt on our hands & do nothing about it
all power to German football fans.
