I like how you do all these by yourself. I can't get myself a car to play with but I like looking at modification videos and fantasize about doing things myself. Your videos feel very personal and interesting. Keep up the good work
Dude! That video was a well-made wealth of knowledge! I am about to install my Warn Stubby Rock Crawler and you really helped me out. I look forward to seeing what you do to your rig next. Thank you for producing such a detailed and professional quality video and then sharing it with the world! Happy New Year to you!
+CJ Johnson Well all right!!! Glad it helped give you an idea of what you where in for...Congrats on your install...I kind of wish I went with the stubby after looking at a few of my friends Jeeps but so far, looks and quality wise I'm SUPER happy with this install.
+William Barrow Thank you so much for taking a minute and saying something nice! I really appreciate that and feel like these videos can help guys going through the process. Thanks again!
I really enjoy dirt everyday longtime fan since it started but liking your videos equally as much if not more in some areas very enthusiastic explain everything very clear and your descriptive youre straight to the point with some nonsense to keep it fun entertaining to watch ,a great RUclips personality.
Good looking set up can't wait to see more of the jeep. I know you said your a camera guy on Dirt every day, which I have watched since it started, but they need to have you on as a guest sometime!
+Robert Ritchey Ha! That's awful nice of you but I'm MUCH better for the show behind the scenes!!! Now I'm just going to try to get my buddy Mike Todd out into the hills before the year is out for some good ol boys wheeling. Thanks for the good words though, really!!!
I'm "Warning" you Jason... you better not get stuck while out there on the trail now. lol. I've really enjoyed watching Fred and Dirt Everyday and I'm happy that you're on the team now. Fred's a wealth of knowledge and pretty funny to boot. Just don't let him talk you into wearing the Pink Bigfoot costume, lol. ttyl bro. -Drew
+Supradrew™ Ah, I see what you did there...lol. Yes, it has been a great learning process hanging out with Fred and the crazies on Dirt Every Day. What is this Pink Bigfoot you speak of??? (kidding) I hope you are doing well!
hi.., not yet.., 1st Australia holiday this March:), ARB Bumper & Warn Zeon 8 will follow this Summer;) my Jk got J.W.Speaker new LED front & taillights :)
Plastic doesn’t dent or scratch. If you slam a metal skid plate into a rock things break and bend. The winch is a great insurance policy. I trail ride alone sometimes too. I’d like to have this set up on my new jl.
Yeah, you keep running that plastic and let me know how that works out. There are more videos in this playlist of me running the Rubicon trail and the aftermath... metal skids are mandatory equipment.
AutoEdits I appreciate your advice and info! Skid plates are important, sometimes over kill happens. I got a large gouge in my front plastic plate last time out. It did what it was supposed to do. With 285 hp, how much weight is too much weight? Your winch is definitely worth carrying. I don’t want to be too top heavy or too heavy all around. Thanks!
Instead of the zip tie, use the wire that comes with this winch. Feed the wire through, use needle nose pliers, sideways, grab the wire, and roll the wire around the pliers. Then pull.
These are great videos - I love seeing your journey as you add pieces to the Jeep. Would love to see if you can get away with a very low lift for your 37's, I love the look of the low-slung, big-tire jeep.
Thanks so much... I am really liking the look of the thing low slung as well but after the next trip into the hills if it doesn't get me where I want to go then changes have to get made!
🌟Big Tip:🌟 remove your grill, then remove that plastic piece you drill out. MUCH better access to the inside bumper bolts. The driver side still SUCKS but it's a little easier.
Nice video… well edited and clean, you hit most of the main points of the video. However, I can’t help but notice you either had the easiest install of anyone ever who bought this bumper for a JK, or you conveniently skipped them to make the bumper install appear easier than it really is. Looking at other comments of people who actually installed it, they seem to be having a lot of the same issues as me. The anti-nod brackets do not fit. First I used a rubber mallet to bend them just enough that the bumper could attach to its holes. But even after that, they do not line up. At all. One of the top holes can align, but that does not seem intentional. Secondly, unless you read the manual before you purchase it, you will not be aware that you will need to sheer off parts of the frame. Why is this not mentioned before you can buy it? I guess you can say that’s a lesson learned… luckily I had the tools already and just needed new bits and cutting wheels. You talked about the vacuum pump and how to deal with it in great detail, but then kinda forgot about it after the bumper went on. In the package they sent me, the bracket is too short. A bit PO’d about it, but I’m handy enough and have scrap around to make a better one. But at the cost of this thing, I shouldn’t have to. The manual is a joke. It’s terribly done, hard to read unless you look it up in color, but even then it skips ahead in steps, revisits them and doesn’t explain why.
Sorry to hear you had so many little challenges. My install went exactly as shown, I get no benefit from faking an "easy" installation. Plenty of my upgrade videos include instances like you mention in your comment... It's part of the process... for better or worse. Glad you ended up getting yours done.
Hey, I remember watching another you tube video of a guy that had to use a die grinder or drill to clearance out the holes to fit. I guess I was lucky and it went on pretty easy for this install. Try that if you have those tools... The metal is plenty strong if you have to open the holes up!
Thanks for the advice. I had to drill out the the top outboard frame holes just to get the thing on. Still couldn't line up all the bolts though. Must just be me. My new warn zeon 10-s is in the mail right now and should be here soon. ill let you know how that goes. Hopefully its as easy as you made it seem.
Hi great content. Just bought a 07 Jeep Wrangler. I have the warn 89430 bumper (same as you) and the warn 95ti winch . Looking to update bumper before I do anything else. I am looking for the hoop (bull bar) that you installed. Where did you buy it from (part #)? Also would need the winch tray and the fair lead to guide rope. Trying to find the right combo of parts.. any help , where you purchased and part numbers if through Warn.thank you for your help
Thanks I viewed the video. I figured most of the parts needed in this video. The Warn website was somewhat helpful. So many parts for them. It the dang fairlead mounting bracket, having trouble with. Where did you find the one in this video? 9:19
I realize this is an older video and this question may have already been asked and answered but Im doing a Warn bumper and winch on my jeep and am curious as to how much suspension sag I should expect ? I already have a 2.5 inch lift so should I expect to have to install spacers or will I need new front springs ? Btw.... You have some great videos !
Hey Erik - just a heads up, but there are several companies that make awesome brush guard/bumper bars with and without spots for lights that you can simply add on to your stock bumper. One of the companies is called Maximus 3 - they sell a few that don't require any cutting, from what I understand.
thank you so much. I'm working on making the jeep what I want. just upgraded the sound bar inside so the stereo sounds nice. put in an amp and a under the seat sub
That's the best part of Jeep ownership - making them how you want them! Search around for free/cheap mods (like the MagLite holder, tweeter mod, etc) if you're looking for some more inspiration without spending a ton of cash. :D
+Erik Black How did you go about deciding what audio upgrades you wanted to do/ could afford? I have the infinity package in my jku and the sound bar speakers are pitiful but I am really not sure if I should get a sub or put a sub in the sound bar or need to upgrade all speakers and tweeters to accommodate a sub
well I have always had big subs and amps in all my rides, but in my jeep I didn't want all that speaker box stuff but wanted good sound, so I just did a little research and found what I wanted for the jeep and installed myself. first I replaced the sound bar with 150watt rms 3 ways that really wasent hard to find, but really sound good.
+tommyboy1two Ha! I actually got a couple of days off on Xmas week so I'm hoping to get out for a few days in the Jeep and then I'll edit that together as soon as I can!!! Hope you have a good holiday!
Thank you I hope you have a great holiday day too also I would also like to thank you for all hard work you put into your videos they really helped the through a low time in by life thank you soo much man
+tommyboy1two I'm sorry to hear about the low spot but I'm very honored to have helped with this silly car stuff! Just so you know, I have had some fairly rough patches over the last several years and sometimes they made sense (bad things happened) and sometimes they didn't (most things in my life were pretty ok at the time) but I would feel really hopeless and defeated. The thing I've learned is to just keep moving forward and don't EVER give up on that! Thanks for sharing my friend!
Did you have to specifically ask for that particular grill guard when you ordered you bumper? I want to order the crawler bumper but with the same grille guard you have but warn only list another type of grill guard with the jk crawler bumper.
+Mark Huebsch I have a few thousand miles on it now with the stock suspension and it feels different but still drives great. I will put a lift on it at some point but not because of the winch...the thing just needs a few more inches of ground clearance to get where I'm going!
Great video and looks to your Jeep. This is the exact look I want for my JWUR. I have a favor to ask of you.... Could you list the part numbers so I can order the bumper, skid plate, winch and winch plate. It would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!
+Greg Gilbert I ordered just about everything from this page right here: www.warn.com/truck/mounting-systems/jk_bumper.shtml Best of luck, it's a pretty fun install!
Nice video! A few questions: 1) Did the guy you spoke with recommend an electric winch over a hydraulic one? 2) Does that bumper limit your tire size? Those look like stock tires and I wonder if 33s or 35s would hit the bumper 3) Don’t you get the front of the vehicle sagging if you don’t add spacers due to the extra weight of the new bumper?
hey whats the weight of your bumper I'm new to the jeep world i have a Sahara JK 2014 I'm afraid that if i put a heavy bumper i may wear my shooks should i worry about it with out doing a lift kit any tips would be appreciate I'm going to be doing the lift but not now if you can help me withs this question thanks
Hello. Just got an ‘18 JK Rubicon. Want to upgrade front and rear plastic bumpers to steel. May get a stubby for front. (Will also add a winch) Wondering how much extra weight affects suspension. Should I “balance” weight by doing both simultaneously? Upgrade suspension/add lift first?
Congrats on your new Jeep and welcome! If you can do front and rear at the same time, I recommend that. I did notice the weight of the bumper and winch on the front. Putting 1.5" spring spacers in the front ended up really helping out a lot.
Thank you. I just saw the video where you did the spacers and bump stops, all though I couldn't really see where you did the spring spacers). Was also considering aluminum, but don't see nearly as many options. Thanks again!
Fantastic content Jason! I think I'm pretty jealous of all of your upgrades... except the width of your bumper. Any reason you didn't go stubby with those 37s?
Well, when I started this build the mid length bumper seemed to be the right choice for an Overland type of rig ... but it has evolved since then into a more aggressive Jeep. Stick around...I think I might just cut the ends of the current bumper. Thanks for watching and commenting!
+TheRp424 I sold it to help get the JK. It was a great rig but I was getting to the point where I was wanting front and rear lockers and a few other things and just went for it.
This has probably been asked a bazillion times, but are you doing this in the living room? Is that laminate flooring? That is really a sweet idea for a garage. How does it hold up to oil and grease, etc.? What do you think would happen in northern climes with road salt and lots of rainwater, etc.? I probably know the answer to that... :-(
You're not going to believe this but 37" BFG tires are on their way!!!!! Now I just have to figure out how to make them fit...lift or small fenders? Suggestions?
Ha! No that was the sound guy who was in the back seat... I was either outside shooting or in my Tundra driving like a maniac. There are several shots in that episode of me driving...my favorite is the end of the sand dunes segment carving a rad turn by some motorcycle guys! Thanks so much for watching!
+autoedit no problem, I subbed because jeeps are starting to grow on me. I have a 2016 tacoma on a lease answer I think I know what to get next once the lease is up lol I like how customizable jeeps. definitely would ride around with with no doors or roof.
I like how you do all these by yourself. I can't get myself a car to play with but I like looking at modification videos and fantasize about doing things myself. Your videos feel very personal and interesting. Keep up the good work
I never comment on RUclips videos, but your JK series has me hooked (have a 2014 JK Unlimited Rubicon myself). Keep em coming!
Best jeep Chanel ! Thanks for the time you give ❤️ love from France

For some reason learning from your learning has been most informative- I guess it's real or close to my reality. Thanks a lot and keep them coming!
+William Barrow Thank you so much for taking a minute and saying something nice! I really appreciate that and feel like these videos can help guys going through the process. Thanks again!

Awesome to hear... thanks so much!!!
I just bought a used 2013 Rubicon and your video really helped. Thanks for posting it.
So glad to hear that! Congrats and Jeep wave!
Great guy, he absolutely knows how to handle the Wrangler s.. respect bro ..
Sweet upgrade man ..it makes the jeep look 10x meaner
Good looking set up can't wait to see more of the jeep. I know you said your a camera guy on Dirt every day, which I have watched since it started, but they need to have you on as a guest sometime!

Thoroughly enjoy, and have enjoyed your videos for a while now. Hope to see them for a long time to come, even after large Marge is "Complete"
+Jason Barker Me too! Thanks a bunch!
This is a great video. You made it so easy to follow and very informative as well.
I'm "Warning" you Jason... you better not get stuck while out there on the trail now. lol. I've really enjoyed watching Fred and Dirt Everyday and I'm happy that you're on the team now. Finally! Another Jeep video! Thank you.
+alan jackson lol, your welcome man! thanks for hanging in there!
Your jeep looks awesome, Jason! Fred knows what he's talking about. Sometimes the KISS protocol is the best.
+Gunner Ginn I was surprised by the advice but I agree with you for sure!
Thanks Dude!
Absolutely love your content and video work!
Thank you!
Love your videos. One point....a Jeep is never referred to as a "car" :)
Lol
hi.., not yet.., 1st Australia holiday this March:), ARB Bumper & Warn Zeon 8 will follow this Summer;) my Jk got J.W.Speaker new LED front & taillights :)
Love the Mustang poster in the work area!
That's one of my favorite builds... the Anvil Mustang by Pure Vision Designs
con tus habilidades has demostrado que el jeep es un mecano gracias por tus argumentos que transmiten seguridad !!!! eres un crak !!!!
Very nice and detailed Video Bro, you just sold me on this bumper setup. Thank You , will let you know when it is installed :)

"Hmmm.. what would be cool looking?" Famous last words...
great videos man! I'm buying a jeep soon and doing all the same upgrades
+James Young (impactix) Alright, I like to hear that!
+James Young (impactix) Same here!
Great job on the video . I recently bought a 2016 Rubicon unlimited and thought the same thing , get a winch before any other mod
finally you make it, amazing videos keep making cool videos, here since viper engine project Eli from México
+SHERIBOY Howdy Friend!!! Thanks for sticking with me through all these years...glad to hear from Mexico!
+autoedit yea man huge fan, epic idea throw a mopar engine in that jeep
+SHERIBOY That would be an awesome swap...maybe once I get the rest of the rig dialed in!
Wow so great video. Now all I have to do is buy my own JK. Haha
Instead of the zip tie, use the wire that comes with this winch. Feed the wire through, use needle nose pliers, sideways, grab the wire, and roll the wire around the pliers. Then pull.

So true
badass can't wait till I pay my jeep off definitely throwing this bumper on
+twofacedconker Awesome to hear that... it does really make them look tougher.
Excellent video. I have a question whether I can install a tow bar on this metal bumper for flat-towing the Jeep.
You absolutely can. My brother in law currently uses this very bumper on his Jeep as a tow vehicle behind is motorhome.
Great informative video! Thanks for posting.
I was a subscriber of this channel and had NO IDEA you work on Dirt Everyday... BTW that Jeep looks nice now!
+davide30541 YUP, Surprise! I hope you think that is pretty cool cause I like it there!
AHH that is why your content is top notch! Work with the man Fred himself :D Great stuff dude!
Great video man! Awesome stuff
🌟Big Tip:🌟 remove your grill, then remove that plastic piece you drill out. MUCH better access to the inside bumper bolts. The driver side still SUCKS but it's a little easier.
Thanks!
what happened to the vacuum?..
it stays on the same place?
Your videos are exceptional! So much knowledge transfer in one video. Very educational indeed!

wow, really cool & excellent job!will do it too!
+260476260476 Thanks! Did you get a bumper for your Jeep? Hope this helped a little to let you know what your in for!
nice work... i'm trying to do mine but it's snowing and blowing up here in idaho
You made this look way easier then it was. I'm five hours in and still can't get the bolts to line up properly...

Great videos. good way on explaining and tips. thanks.
I really enjoy your channel, very high quality all around. Sub'd. Cheers!
Much appreciated, thanks!
1500 for this beast lol..guess ima need to work some OT! nicely done..
Yeah, 4 wheelin is expensive!!!
Hi great content. Just bought a 07 Jeep Wrangler. I have the warn 89430 bumper (same as you) and the warn 95ti winch . Looking to update bumper before I do anything else.

I have the easiest time putting on the bumpers and adding stuff on, but when it comes to wiring I suck
When are you going to make a video on using the winch
I realize this is an older video and this question may have already been asked and answered but Im doing a Warn bumper and winch on my jeep and am curious as to how much suspension sag I should expect ? It sagged about an inch on stock springs. The MetalCloak springs didn't even know the winch was there.

Love the jeep favorite part is the manual
+Mackenzie Yarbough Me too!
Great videos! Once the front bumper and winch is attached, did you add spacers to compensate for any sag?
Those d-rings are actually called Bow shackles or anchor shackles with a clevis pin.
Looks like 5/8 or 3/4 inch shackles
I already have a 2016 jeep and would love to have the single brush guard in the front. don't need the wench put would love the single bar

Hey Jason. Cool rig. Any winching vids to post soon?
Thanks. I have to remount it because I'm changing the bumper but that's it for the time being...
Did you by chance make any of your videos on how to use your winch??
Love your videos btw!
It was going so well until 7:25
Cbr 600 why
Joshua John he doesn't want to cut into his mall crawler
Hey Jason! What kinda bracket did you use for the vacuum pump?
Metal Cloak relocation bracket.
can we expect a Christmas special video from you lol
+tommyboy1two Ha! I actually got a couple of days off on Xmas week so I'm hoping to get out for a few days in the Jeep and then I'll edit that together as soon as I can!!! Hope you have a good holiday!
Thank you I hope you have a great holiday day too also I would also like to thank you for all hard work you put into your videos they really helped the through a low time in by life thank you soo much man
+tommyboy1two I'm sorry to hear about the low spot but I'm very honored to have helped with this silly car stuff! Very nice
Did you have to specifically ask for that particular grill guard when you ordered you bumper? I want to order the crawler bumper but with the same grille guard you have but warn only list another type of grill guard with the jk crawler bumper.
It was an option on the website when I made the order so yes.
great videos! I'm looking to switch out my stock bumper on my 2012 JK. Since it's a 2012, I won't have to worry about relocating my vacuum canister ?
Are you doing anymore video of your jeep?
Did the added weight of the bumper cause any extra suspension sag or require any modifications to the front suspension for you? Great video!
+Mark Huebsch I have a few thousand miles on it now with the stock suspension and it feels different but still drives great. I will put a lift on it at some point but not because of the winch...the thing just needs a few more inches of ground clearance to get where I'm going!

very cool video
Great video and looks to your Jeep. This is the exact look I want for my JWUR. I have a favor to ask of you.... Could you list the part numbers so I can order the bumper, skid plate, winch and winch plate. It would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!
+Greg Gilbert I ordered just about everything from this page right here:
www.warn.com/truck/mounting-systems/jk_bumper.shtml
Best of luck, it's a pretty fun install!
+autoedit Awesome!! Thank you for spending at least $3,000 of my money. I spent a little time on their website. It's all good
will the stock battery be enough juice to run the winch and some led light bars?
Nice video! A few questions:
1) Did the guy you spoke with recommend an electric winch over a hydraulic one?
2) Does that bumper limit your tire size? Those look like stock tires and I wonder if 33s or 35s would hit the bumper
3) Don’t you get the front of the vehicle sagging if you don’t add spacers due to the extra weight of the new bumper?
Electric winch, I ran 37" tires with no problems, I did add 1" spring spacers in the front to accommodate the extra weight.
AutoEdits thanks for the response sir!
Отличная работа!
What kinda bolts are the ones on lower guard I bought it and I didn't come with hardware
hey whats the weight of your bumper I'm new to the jeep world i have a Sahara JK 2014 I'm afraid that if i put a heavy bumper i may wear my shooks should i worry about it with out doing a lift kit any tips would be appreciate I'm going to be doing the lift but not now if you can help me withs this question thanks
does he work for Brave Wilderness
Thanks for introducing me to that! Awesome stuff

Well, when I started this build the mid length bumper seemed to be the right choice for an Overland type of rig ... but it has evolved since then into a more aggressive Jeep. Stick around...I think I might just cut the ends of the current bumper.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
nice bumper
Thanks! Now I'm trying to get the matching rear bumper.
How much did it cost you everything?
Well parts.
So I missed the part about the Vacuum bracket. What happened?
Nothing really to show other than a small bracket and the canister bolted right up.
How big is the brush guard you have on the bumper.
What size tires are those? Is that jeep on a stock lift and stock size tires
+Trey Gallik Those are the stock 32" BFGs and completely stock suspension.
love your knew jeep! what happen to the wj?
+TheRp424 I sold it to help get the JK. It was a great rig but I was getting to the point where I was wanting front and rear lockers and a few other things and just went for it.
Awesome man
Another great video, thanks for posting Jason. May I ask how much did you spend both winch and bumper? I know that specific warn is not cheap.
The winch was about $1200 and after more research the 10S is a bit overkill and should have gone with the 8.
Thanks, $1200 is a bit over my budget, but its a Warn, you get what you pay for:)
10+++++ video.
Thanks so much!!!
how long did you run that full length bumper? Did it rub first time out? I have a stubby and it contacts.
Are you running 37 and stock wheels?
@@AutoEdits no was 35s, 38's now with 4.5 backspacing and 1.75 wheel spacers. I noticed you are no longer running this bumper?
@@c.r.rockreapers6549 I run the Metalcloak stubby front bumper and have been very happy with it. ruclips.net/video/WHzIgT4KqXI/видео.html
Hey. Did your bumper come with the warn side decal?
I think it did. It might have come with the recovery bag.
Thank you very much
I’m so jealous
Look how far the suspension dripped after he dropped the winch in? Next upgrade... a lift kit...lol
37" lift and regearing coming soon!!
You're not going to believe this but 37" BFG tires are on their way!!!!! Now I just have to figure out how to make them fit...lift or small fenders? Suggestions?
+autoedit 3" lift with stock fenders & 5.13 gears
+Reddiggler Thanks!
ok so I have to ask, did you really get sick when you guys filmed the DED episode of the tundra in the dunes
+autoedit what part of socal do you live? I live in Corona. Riverside county
I'm up in Santa Clarita, by Magic Mountain.

Has this bumper faded for you? Read some reviews that it supposedly fades after a year or so
It didn't for me but I spray a little lube on it once in a while.
I have a winch on mine but i want it off and want the stock bumper lol
But why? I would never go on a trail run in this without the winch.
The only upgrade where it's actually completely ok if you *don't* end up having to use it.
it really good
+Gamerlover Lover Thanks!
what was the model number of the bumper, please?
