I'm shocked by how clean the top end of that engine was! Looks like Pennzoil is definitely the way to go. That filter failure was definitely where you got lucky. I bet the bearings in this engine look pretty worn out now due to that, but I'm sure it'll be fine as long as you keep putting the good stuf in it lol
very impressed with how well the car held up. I imagine you were frequently topping off the oil. At the little shop i work at, i see many many cars with much worse oil daily, and less than 10k miles on their oil change.
My previous neighbor was a very lazy man, who lived off of government checks. He never had a car because he could not afford it, until a used mazda 2 came up for sale by a friend of his for $400. He proceeded to use it for the next 4 years without doing a single bit of maintenance to it at all. I once asked him if he ever opened the hood, and he told me he didnt know how to open it. He didn't even put any washer fluid in it. It stopped working when it had over 200,000 miles, 60,000 of which was all on one oil fill and filter, without even topping up the oil once.
I got a 06 2.3 mazda b2300 319841kms and going strong. I didn't know that the different years of mazdas have a different ignition system or spark system. I wonder if the coils are better for powerout put. Are they even swapable? Good video, man. I never comment on videos. You have a good sense of humor and I am now going to change my oil! 🎉 Easy Rome🤙
Looking at all the different coils they are all different plug styles so u would have to change coil packs, but you could definitely look into different company’s and check there spark rating to have a better output.
I just got new 24 Chevy Express Cargo van 6.6 V8 and at 575 miles did oil job just got 2000 miles on it and doing another change.. then go about 5000 miles.. tge computer says my oil is still 85% good, but it being new. Feel better doing a 2nd break in oil change 1500 miles after the first oil change..
New cars oil life normally last a lot longer, given the type of oil they use and how the engines are made, most are safe for 6-10k miles before a oil Change but that’s changes on dealership recommendations, however u can change how often you want your car to read its oil life, and set it to the miles you’re most comfortable with.
do the math.. the frivolous oil changes that arent helping anything will add up to cost as much as an entire replacement engine over the life of the vehicle... which you could still end up needing because theres a hundred reasons for an engine to fail even with sparkling clean oil in it
I always do that one anyway new, on any new air compressor I'll run them open valves for 30 minutes then change the oil again. Oil is usually very gray after that since they are dirty internally from manufacturing. I apply this to everything that is lubricated.
@@AndrewBrowner not changing the oil is pretty much the number one reason why engines explode. I went to school to be an auto mechanic way back in 1989. Dave Carmel a long way since then. Things are so much simpler back then.
Scary thing is looking for a car out there when: -there’s people unlike you (that decided to do this as a sacrificial experiment and have knowledge on mechanics) that actually don’t know anything about cars that just neglect them or don’t change it’s oil and you buy their car and it ends up shutting the bed or burning oil because they didn’t take care of it early in it’s life
good content, just trim the fat in the future and the channel will pick up steam, this could of been a 6-8 minute video not alot of people wanna tune into a 32 minute oil change from a new channel
I know my goal was a short video but then fell down the rabbit hole of everything breaking and figured it would make a good journey, future videos will definitely be shorter, thank you for the feed back tho 🙏

Always topping off 💪
What conditions do you think the vehicles were subjected to for oil under 10K to be in worse shape than this 60K?
@@EvzenKovar-i5p a lot of cars get used and abused with little to no maintenance performed, some people just do not care at all.
That dude is a character, I would love to see more work done on that Mazda 3 though.
Rome is my favorite guy! Dude is a great man! Hard worker and willing to learn and do anything! Keep it up bro!
Very entertaining my guy, thanks for the content, subscribed
To focus on spark plugs, hold your hand behind the plug. It lets the camera focus on a larger area.
+1 vote for your M3 series. Subscribed.
Thanks for the science experiment 🤝
Of course my man!

You must live in the south because all the old mazda's in the midwest have rotted out frames.
I do 😂

That dang car is a trooper….
You should use a high quality 100% full synthetic like amsoil engine oil and go another 60k
That would be great but the engine is about to be gone, LOL

this was good shit rome 🔥🔥
I think the plugs might be telling you they’re burning oil
That truck has been through a lot😂 including fire lol

try the valvoline restore oil.
Put sum dat original Lucas into it, almost eliminates that oil consumption👌
its gon start knocking inna couple days (knock on wood) but thats how it usually go
If it does I won’t even be mad
Rod bearings on these engines are the strongest so pray
Mazda 3 worked hard
it will be surely your last oil change 😂
It’ll never dieeee
