Scary thing is looking for a car out there when: -there’s people unlike you (that decided to do this as a sacrificial experiment and have knowledge on mechanics) that actually don’t know anything about cars that just neglect them or don’t change it’s oil and you buy their car and it ends up shutting the bed or burning oil because they didn’t take care of it early in it’s life

I'm shocked by how clean the top end of that engine was! Looks like Pennzoil is definitely the way to go. That filter failure was definitely where you got lucky. I bet the bearings in this engine look pretty worn out now due to that, but I'm sure it'll be fine as long as you keep putting the good stuf in it lol

try the valvoline restore oil.

You should use a high quality 100% full synthetic like amsoil engine oil and go another 60k

very impressed with how well the car held up. I imagine you were frequently topping off the oil. At the little shop i work at, i see many many cars with much worse oil daily, and less than 10k miles on their oil change.

Rod bearings on these engines are the strongest so pray

My previous neighbor was a very lazy man, who lived off of government checks. He never had a car because he could not afford it, until a used mazda 2 came up for sale by a friend of his for $400. He proceeded to use it for the next 4 years without doing a single bit of maintenance to it at all. I once asked him if he ever opened the hood, and he told me he didnt know how to open it. He didn't even put any washer fluid in it. It stopped working when it had over 200,000 miles, 60,000 of which was all on one oil fill and filter, without even topping up the oil once.

You must live in the south because all the old mazda's in the midwest have rotted out frames.

To focus on spark plugs, hold your hand behind the plug. It lets the camera focus on a larger area.

I got a 06 2.3 mazda b2300 319841kms and going strong. I didn't know that the different years of mazdas have a different ignition system or spark system. I just got new 24 Chevy Express Cargo van 6.6 V8 and at 575 miles did oil job just got 2000 miles on it and doing another change.. then go about 5000 miles.. tge computer says my oil is still 85% good, but it being new. Feel better doing a 2nd break in oil change 1500 miles after the first oil change..

I have a 700 r4 in mine and I'll run the dog s*** out of it I've been running it for two years two days ago I spent $9,800 on a White's racing engine with a 700 r4 transmission it is a 383 stroker 515 horsepower with a 700 r4 transmission as long as you know how to work that detent cable that is what controls your transmission line pressure and if you have it hooked up wrong it will destroy your transmission in one day but if you know what you're doing it will last forever

The charger had a 440 magnum or a 426 hemi for the two bighest motors the 440 is not a hemi motor and the origional general didnt have a hemi in it the hrmi wasnt known until the move until bo asks cooter, jesus cooter is that a hemi? Implying that it had the magnum in it before that

Timing definitely out would go with turbo 350 transmission and msd ignition would be a noticeable performance change

Your timing off it should fire right up. It’s turning over a little slow but not too slow

Whatever you do with the motor, i would suggest getting aluminum heads if you want to make more power more reliably, and you’ll need to get a higher stall converter if you get a bigger cam etc etc

They’ve done a real life comparison, in reality the General Lee would have won in a race, Big engine more displacement, more horsepower, more traction, and well it looked better to. The General Lee show Wise was a 500+ horse power car, and in Smokey and the bandit it was a 455 Pontiac/Olds engine, and at the time it was pitifully weak, Only producing 200 or so horsepower along with its Chevy counter part the 454. I’m a GM Guy, but the General Lee 69 Charger would have won, both in looks and in racing. the Mopar car I love with all my heart
