I think part of the masyaf brotherhood's rules were created out of pride. They lived in a fortress, performed public assassinations, refused to use poison. These showed that they grew arrogant, prideful and it cost them a lot of potential victories.

Hidden Ones: "We're gonna figure this out... eventually."
Assassins: "Our predecessors figured this out early on."

When i think of hidden ones i think of the early days of a brutal codeless brotherhood while the assasins are calm and collected

The difference is the word 'Assassin' was not yet used for them and the Hidden ones fought against the order which took the name 'Templar' around the same time of the crusades

I've always found the Hidden Ones to be a more extreme version of the Assassins

lmfao what they are willing to take less risks then the levant brotherhood without a doubt

@ the Levantine brotherhood isn’t the only branch of assasins

@Zikuto_ there are only 7 historical branches between alamut masyaf and the other 5 that I recognize as Canon the rest are filler lol

This is why people complaining about not wearing hoods in Syndicate makes me annoyed.
Evie not wearing any headwear and Jacob wearing a tophat is obviously going to fit in much better in Victorian London than a hood.

Well, Syndicate has bigger problems than that.

@ ‘Course it does, but everyone always complains about that in particular primarily.
That being said there are plenty of other things which I think definitely need to be addressed, like the fact that Evie is _dreadfully_ stuck up (though not as bad as Connor), or the fact that, due to the fact that it was ripped almost directly from Unity, the gameplay is janky as fuck, and the combat just sucks.

Simple difference is that the hidden ones are secret organization while the assassin's order is avengers 2.0
Walking around while ppl knowing you're a assassin is not being in the shadows, being into politics openly is not a assassin.

Agree. But I guess it can also depend on the individual's job in the group (i.e. recon agents that mainly gather info rather than assassinate targets.)

0:38 as far as i remember, in Valhalla they are still called Hidden Ones. There are Hidden Ones Bureau scattered across England where you can find Hidden Ones gear like armor and weapon, also there is one active bureau in Eivor's village, managed by Hytham
This also make sense if you think about Mirage too, because the timeline between Mirage and Valhalla is not so far

Yup! They are still Hidden Ones in Valhalla and there were the abandoned Bureaus all throughout England. I just placed a "???" in Valhalla just coz Eivor didn't join them lol. But we do get some more info about them through notes and letters.

@TheMaudeth ah yes. Eivor technically didn't join Hidden Ones. Since their goal is aligned, eivor did every job related to the Hidden Ones, even sometimes acted like Hidden Ones (this one is depending on how we play eivor tbh)
For me, eivor didn't join formally, but his actions proved him to be worthy to become Hidden Ones

I always preferred the names assassins and templars but maybe it’s a nostalgia thing
