I didn't really like the first games stealth or stealing mechanic. It's dumb how I can sneak and steal things without getting caught and still someohow have the town lost trust in me for that when I never got caught.,

Very nice! I am doing a run almost exactly like this one, for the last achievements, except that I need to have a low level in drinking, for the "You had one job!" which I couldn't do with older saves in my normal playthrough. Thanks for all the tips!

This game is worth it!

You’re not getting the expansions for free, you get them if you buy the gold edition which is priced with the dlcs in mind. And the reason they’re locking “quests” behind a preorder is because they’re purely cosmetic bonuses for supporting the game early, it’s not like you’re missing out on proper game content.

Second rule- dont support liars, sellouts and people who hide things. Its not about woke stuff in game, its about retconning established characters and betraying your own beliefs. I stopped preordering because I bought into the hype of Cyberpunk 2077…. In the end, that game didn’t wow me as much as I expected, what’s more I just didn’t enjoy it that much……. So no more preordering… then I bought KCD Royal Edition on PlayStation for $3….. just 3. 200 hours of in game time later, I’m preordering KCD 2 Gold edition..

I pre-ordered the standard edition. Then the roadmap trailer came out. I cancelled my pre-order and immediately pre-ordered the gold edition. Just watching the clock now

Seeing them give out review copies one month prior release made me also pre-order it. They would never do this if it would be bug infested. NDA or not. On top KCD 2 looks and seems to feel like KCD 1 so im probably very happy with this.

Cannon mode is good. all the endings is the reason I hate odyssey and Valhalla the games are better with a real cannon that’s why origins is so much better with better written characters

As a stealth player I want good stealth mechanics and good AI. On trailers and gameplays I see that there are interesting stealth options and terrible opponents AI- NPCs are stupid and attack with hidden blade is sometimes not instakill for regular NPC. I am seriously worried. What more boss fights which I saw on gameplays looks bad- they are easy and non dynamic, much worse than in Sekiro for sure. I also love good story, characters, dialogues and beutiful graphics. Graphics is beutiful for sure. Story and characters? Hard to say for now. Will this game give me a chance to fell like Ghost of Japan which will destroy templars while hidding in shadows? I doubt it :/ I don't think the problem with games is weaving a political agenda into them, after all the conflict between assassins and templars is a reflection of the conflict between anarchists and conservatives, freedom and order as you mentioned. The problem is that this agenda is artificially weaved in by copy-pasting conflicts from our world.

Personally, I don’t think this game is going to reinvent the wheel nor do I think it needs to. Not every single video game needs to be an innovative masterpiece to be considered a good game or even a masterpiece. I’ve played a lot of games that I wouldn’t consider a masterpiece, but I would consider Good games. All in all I think this game is obviously going to sell well because the assassins Creed fans are loyal. Is this game going to save Ubisoft ? most definitely won’t it’s just gonna give them time and a boost. because they need to have a banger after a banger one game is not going to save the basket of apples, so after shadows if it does succeed cause there still that big IF, the next games have to continue the trend of being good

let's be clear, no good game can work only on gameplay or fun factor. Anthem was fun to play but bad on everything else. it did fail terribly. the problem is more complicate, shadow is not only about yasuke is about how japan of the warring states is describe. the first trailer with yasuke walking into a village in full battle armor, used for war only. while acting with no respect of the bushido create a disonnance. and that not the only point... a lot of error in the environement and how thing are protrayed is not always good. people think it's mostly yt "grifter", but the situation of shadow is terrible in japan. they wait the game come out and if they found anything that don't respect them past.... ubisoft is good for have a lot of trouble. japan laws about history protection is far far harder than in any other country. now for touch about yasuke situation, yes, use a black person in japan where at this time maybe, at best you had maybe 100-1000 black people in all japan. feel wrong, why this assassin creed did break the mold and decide to not use someone from the country, worst why use someone that did exist. it's clearly political move... but it's a bad one... you can't come after soo many game, with rule set and decide: "for this game screw this, historial accuracy of the country... ignore it... using an historical figure as main character, yeah" plus it's kinda pose a problem...AC is about using the animus for explore the past hidden into the dna. if yasuke and naoe are playable it means them dna are link.... plus if they are gay, how they have continue them lineage? all in all outside the political move, we end with a product that simply shit on everything that was part of the series... for me it's hard pass. they have gone too far and disrespect the series too much at this point. like with dragon age the veilguard. yes this game will kill ubisoft and it's needed for make a wake up sign that stuff need to change and that game must respect the series they are coming from. they need to respect player by not taking them for idiot while trying to lecture them about some political idea... we are playing (at least me) video game for fun.... i don't want to be lectured about something... i'm old enough for decide if something is wrong or right by myself. when you leave you capacity to think to someone else... it's when you become a slave, what is sad because the message of assassin creed was always be free, think for yourself.... not what they are trying to do right now.

These people often discourage anyone who shows interest in the game they dislike, and unfortunately, their tactics can be effective. This is what happened to Cyberpunk 2077. The game turns out to be one of the (if not the best) games of all time in terms of story and world-building, now cbp2077 has a more active player base than most live service games for 2 years! And still, there are a lot of people hating on the game. (Mostly who play GTA 5 just shoot pedestrians) And they are effective at turning new players down religiously. In 2022, even I doubt (I don't judge a game until I play it), should I give it a try? Are these haters right? But I was wrong. The game had a historical comeback. I'm expecting a similar comeback from the Assassin's Creed franchise, but I think it's even harder for Ubisoft since their reputation has been deep in the abyss for a long time. And those gender/race politics not gonna help either.

I understand your overall point, but I don’t think it’s necessarily that games are political, or are trying to diversify, it’s twofold: the way a particular game was made-from gameplay, writing-which is fair, not because of their sociopolitical ambitions. However there are those who complain about DEI because they simply buy into the YT grift & freak out about just about any representation whatsoever. Ubisoft should get flak for their business practice and innovation, not because one half of the playable roster is based on loose historical understanding of a person.

shadows can be great. If Ubisoft went through its current issues earlier, and released shadows instead of odissey and valhalla, i think a lot of people wouldnt be talking about the downfall of assassin's creed, and instead about its evolution. We could dream of a bayek sequel, and if pushed more agressively, maybe ubisoft would give us some of the parkour we have been missing since unity.

There are tons of situations I can think of where stealthing during broad daylight is actually better. Some heavily fortified and guarded places will actually be easier to visit during the day, for instance the Rattay Rathaus which is filled with valuable loot and at least a dozen chests, is completely void of people during the day but full of NPCs at night. The correct time of day to go thieving is the time of day when there's less people. Sometimes it's the day, sometimes it's the night. It's very situational.

You literally have to perform all the daily duties of a monk while secretly pursuing your objective. If you neglect your responsibilities, you face punishment. i really felt like the stealth being "bad" in this game was a skill issue, i never had issues with it and i have gone flawless a few times. atleast the hidden blade is a one hit kill in this game, i found the stealth in odyssey the most frustrating cause not all enemies are a 1 hit and you are forced to go into combat
