If the Foo's are going to keep going (and after seeing this amazing tribute, I think they will), Rufus is the most logical new drummer. Taylor was like an uncle to him - his mentor. It's perhaps a little too on the nose that he looks a ton like him, but there's no question that he plays with Taylor's energy and passion.
Yes I think Rufus is natural choice - but Rufus is drummer in The Darkness and I don’t think he’d leave them ( unless he does both ) . Think Foo fighters might have to alternate drummers

I also feel like Dave gave Justin Hawkins so much airtime at these events as a "sorry I might steal your drummer" gesture.

Just great to hear and see the guys up there playing. That incredible sound of the Foo Fighters 👌
No one can replace Taylor; however, if the Foos continue, the only logical choice would be Rufus. Dave has a connection with him and Taylor would approve, I believe. Nandi and Shane are too young to the grooling work that is needed. This is just so hard....love you Taylor. Besides the family and millions of fans, Dave and the rest of the Foos, my heart is just broken for you all.

Shane Hawkins got the spotlight that night because holy fuck he was beyond godlike. But let us not forget the incredible display Mr. Rufus Taylor gave us here. Thank you, Rufus. I'm sure your dad was giggling the entire song
