Every time low comes on all he does is try to embarrass someone, but all he does is make himself look bad. Low knows it makes absolutely 0 sense to pay thompson what he wanted just because of the past, but he’ll still argue they should’ve done it and be terrible for the next decade just so he can try to make pen look bad even though pen was 100% on point.
@@robesterd8132he always does this, he doesn’t even care about picking the right point. Pen laid out how paying him would doom the franchise for the next decade with losing picks due to the apron penalties, not being able to sign or trade any players, etc.
And low literally said “I don’t care, it doesn’t matter” and argued they should’ve paid him anyways. All he cares about is trying to make other people look bad even when they’re right with their argument. This is a guy who screams at people at the top of his lungs that they’re dumb, they’re idiots, they shouldn’t be allowed to talk basketball because of how stupid they are, and here he is saying an organization should pay a washed up player for what he did for them 6+ years ago and suffer all the previously mentioned penalties as a result. If someone that low hates like ticket was making this same argument low would be screaming and laughing at them, calling them an idiot.

Lemme write this here; Klay is a legend. But Klay aint moving the needle for your next championship. And if its not for a championship, the second apron isnt worth it. Paul George and Klay Thompson aren't the same. They're not in the same league. And I don't think Klay liked to hear that.
Give you the situation. You're broke. You got to pay surgery for your kid to save their life. You'll be in debt for 25 years. You do it. You borrow $250k and pay back $800k over 25 years in interest.
Now ask yourself if you'd take that same loan to buy a new car and you'll get the point. The goal is championship #5. Not saving Klays feelings. They were upfront with him. They offered him 2x what he was worth and he wanted more. Usually I side with the player. This time, I'm siding with the Warriors.

The fact that people dont acknowledge the Mavs defensive scheme is so annoying. There defensive scheme is funneling players to the bigs. Thats why every perimeter player has a really high blowby percentage on the team. Josh Green is one of the worst screen navigators in the nba and they replaced that with Grimes who is one of the best screen navigators. DJJ is a solid defender but people dont realize prior to the Gafford and PJ trade his defense was not that impactful at all because pre trade deadline they didnt play a funnel defense. Naji is not as quick or athletic as DJJ but he is just as active and stronger. Klay is just straight up better than Tim Hardaway in every aspect of basketball. People dont realize how destructive THJ was to the mavs in the 2nd half of the szn. The main rzn the Mavs lost the finals was they shot 17% on open 3s. Naji, Klay, and Grimes helps that while having the defense stay the same if not better.

Pen’s argument wasn’t bad and it was somewhat convincing. He was still wrong though. Klay wasn’t wrong to leave and he wasn’t selfish. Pen thinks of it that way because he’s looking at it as an owner/ GM would. They think when a player like Klay ask for respect he’s wrong but he’s not based on what he’s done for the franchise. Then to downplay Klay like that is wild.
To piggyback on jalens point about fans preferring dynasties, I think the nba having 82 games plus a 16 win tournament to the championship causes viewers to be fatigued at times so the ratings aren’t as strong as a 16 game football season

They just lost in the finals, but if they trade Draymond away (and yes, KD comes back from his injury and Klay comes back from his injuries, and they still have Poole), don't you think that championship window would have still been there? Or at least they would have won two more with Steph, KD, Klay, and Poole because I believe both are there.
