KD went the shortcut route like Bron which hinders their legacy. Can’t compare KD/Bron with the MJ’s, Kobe’s, & 80’s 90’s players & past players & every great that endured! You can only compare KD with Bron etc because they both took the same shortcut route to win their fake rings. Now when you compare KD & Bron, KD has dominated him therefore he’s better then Bron period! KD is not top 10 neither is Bron sorry to be brutally honest. And before you bring up Bron more MVP’s etc there’s ALOT of CONTEXT behind that. That’s why Giannis(even though he’s not as skilled) & Curry are better then those guys ie KD/Bron. Giannis has the intangibles that make him greater & Curry has shown that he’s skilled enough & assassin enough(baby faced assassin) to be better then those guys… Giannis showed it in 2021 Curry has showed it in 2015 & just recently 2022…

Got 2/4 in that run, only lost to Magic's Lakers twice. LeBron made 4 straight finals as well from 2011-2014, and only won 2 as well. Should have been 3 at least, LeBron has no excuses for losing to the less talented Mavericks. The mid 80s Lakers were super squads. You are right though, Ticket was wrong.
@@aaotrey106 He and his fans have an excuse for every other series he lost, but I'm just saying there is no plausible excuse for that 2011 NBA Finals meltdown. LeBron has never made an excuse for that meltdown because he and his fans have nothing they can concoct to excuse that complete surrender choke of a performance.
@@aaotrey106 But... as we know now, that is not a consistent behaviour for him. Accountability has never been LeBron's strong suit, which rubs off on his fans. Just think about every other Finals loss in his career, there is a built in excuse.

1. Ticket is hella annoying. 2. The Spurs WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP the year LeBron was drafted. Then they won again in 05 and 07. They played up to at least the Eastern Conference Semifinals 12 out of 13 years from '03-'15. They definitely go to 7 str8 Finals if they get Lebron in '03 3. The Spurs were winning 55+ games a year for 5 out of 7 years from '89-'96. During that era in the West though, teams were LOADED. And that meant that who came out of the West was really more about the matchups. It wasn't so much that the Spurs weren't çontenders, sometimes they just ran into the one team that had their number. The proof is in the pudding. 4 out of those 7 years, San Antonio lost to the eventual Conference champion while only making it to the Conference Finals once. Western conference champs from '89-96: Portland, Lakers, Portland, Phoenix, Houston 2x, Seattle. Eastern Conference champs during that same period: Detroit, Chicago 3x, NYK, Orlando, Chicago again
How did Lebron cheat the grind when he still had to lead in every stat category for him to win the championship ? He did on the heat and the Cavs nobody on ticket list every had to do that to win not jordan only thing he had to do is score
So how did MJ win defensive player of the year and lead the league in steals 3 times if all he did was score ? How did he average 5 assists and 6 rebounds per game for his career ?
It was different back then owners put together good organizations good teams good coaches they really wanted to win nowadays owners just want to make money and are cool with not winning
Kareem abdul jaber is seriously underated. Dude was FMVP in their third championship. Also he finsished 4th in MVP voting in the 1984-85 season. Magics first thre titles he had a top five player, Duncan never had a top five teamate at any point in his career. Plus Kareem was screwed in 1980 for FMVP. Magic is in the 6-10 range all time. Mount Rushmore Guarentees: MJ, LeBron, Kareem Players with an argument for the 4th spot: Bird, Magic, Kobe, Duncan, Russel. Personally I have Duncan. If Steph's prime last a couple more years and wins another ring he passes Magic and enters that 5-7 range.

2:00:20 well the 80s were a different era. The Lakers needed those players to just combat the Celtics, 76ers and Pistons in the 80s who in themselves had loaded squads
The problem is that KD made that shit look too easy. If they had struggled the first year and lost then won the next two, people would be fine with the chips.

1:57:05 thats the toughest one to me. And to be honest, you can flip a coin between Magic and Tim in terms of winning for the organisation. But I will give the slight edge to Magic because the Lakers became that global franchise with his arrival and the winning aura excellence he brought. Because before Magic, the Lakers were looked at as underachievers or choke artists at best. And that Showtime era made the Lakers into one of the greatest franchises of all sports
You can say the same for tim. They had no championships before he got there and the five they got is because of him. Him and the admiral put spurs on the map

@@gunny-lneck4352 well its not about glamour, its about excellence. Its about success and dominance. The prestige and the aura of the Lakers all started with the Showtime Lakers. Thats the barometer for success
I would say Magic was more impactful than Duncan overall, though Duncan has a legit case. I would pick Magic because he actually made the Lakers into a dynasty, where as Duncan never made the Spurs into a dynasty. The Spurs always kind of won in between true dynastic teams like the Bulls and Lakers. Magic won his 5 titles in a 9 year time span, took his Lakers to 9 Finals appearances in 12 seasons. Duncan needed 15 years to get his 5 titles, and went to 6 Finals in a 17 year stretch. The Spurs won 4 titles in a 9 year stretch. Tim Duncan was more consistent and more durable, but not as dominant or as impactful when it comes to winning or their respective primes. Magic was more impactful/valuable to his Lakers than Duncan was to his Spurs. It's close though when you factor in defense, but Magic's offense is a lot greater than Duncan's offense. Kobe doesn't belong in that convo of impact with neither of these guys.

1:48:26 well they changed Pat Riley to Mike Dunleavy Sr. who implemented a more half court based offense and Vlade Divac at center and Magic went to the finals. Its a shame that we didn't get to see more of Magic and the impact the Lakers would have had with retooling their squad from 91
That is one of the more underrated playoff finals runs of all-time. Magic was a man possessed that season, he led his Lakers past the heavy favorited Blazers who could have ended up going to three straight finals potentially otherwise. Magic is getting so buried these days, he's by far the greatest PG of all-time. His basketball IQ is only matched by Bird, but his passing is second to none.
@@QuestionEverything562 I agree. And I really don't get why people want to downplay Magic's impact all of a sudden. Like you will hear some of the panelists like Del say that Magic is not top 10 or 20 and I am like baffled by that.
1:39:19 Magic Johnson no doubt about it. The Lakers franchise went from an underachieving franchise to an all time franchise in all of sports because of the arrival and the sustained success that Magic Johnson brought to the Lakers. He elevated to franchise
Shaquille O'Neal was the next carrier of the torch after Michael Jordan. His team defeated the Chicago Bulls in that half season where Jordan wore number 45. The Orlando Magic years are when he made a name for himself, and the Los Angeles Laker years are when he secured his position as the greatest player playing basketball at that time or the best player playing basketball at that time. He is partially responsible for destroying any idea of a euro centric NBA agenda because of his style of play which is why his way of offense and defense are not popularized today by the NBA media. And if your rebuttal is Kobe Bryant was the dominant player taking the back seat......keep in mind how expendable Kobe Bryant was at that time although his bargaining power was youth.....the Lakers saw that Eddie Jones had just done what Kobe Bryant was drafted to continue. And don't forget, Kobe Bryant drafted his game after Michael Jordan. Where in contrast Shaquille O'Neal was NOT like any other force of strength anyone has ever seen outside of Wilt, and Ben Wallace (But Ben Wallace was solely built to stop players like Shaquille O'Neal) who eventually stopped him. Big men that utilize raw strength are a rare.😎
If lebron still come in the league as a superstar & had the same kind of power, would lebron have tolerated pap? Would the spurs have kept that core together? I do think if lebron was in the west he would of ironed out his weaknesses a lot earlier. There's just to many factors for a straightforward what if scenario. I doubt he makes it to 7 finals, in 10 years, but i could see him having 5 rings in 15.
Based on Spurs record in that period, I'd say they could have gone to 7back to back finals appearances if they can keep the core together for that period of time. Lebron would infuse the team with a much better frontcourt that is hard to defend no matter who they played. Because who is gonna double team Lebron with Duncan, Parker, and ganobli on the floor? Any of the other teams 5 player guarding the spurs would have had no person to guard Lebron out there. Because they have to worry about Duncan Ganobli on the 3pt line, and Parker's jumper. And you can't leave them open either to guard a LBJ. It's tough to argue that any teams in the West is stopping Spurs w/ Lebron, even Kobe and the Lakers. Remember Spurs won a chip in 2003. And that was the last year of Shaq as a Laker. You are entitled to your opinion tho. I just think nobody stops the spurs with a Lebron
Yes he would have, LeBron turned into what he did because Cleveland basically let him do whatever he wanted. Pop would nip that right in the bud, especially a young LeBron that was still learning. Also, why wouldn't the Spurs keep the core together? It's not like LeBron's presence changes anything for them. Manu still comes off the bench, Parker is still the playmaker and Timmy D is still the leader until he'd logically turn it over to LeBron. At worst, LeBron wins 4 rings in SA (2005, 2007, 2013 and 2014). And if he still decides to go to Cleveland and LA he'd win 2 more so he'd have 6 rings and probably 2 losses because of GS in 17 and 18.
It doesn’t matter whether if Raptors was a threat or not but it’s rare to see the top player (they were all stars, leading their teams in scoring) from 3 teams to come together and play in the same team. That’s rare as hell.

@@kylesandusky6342it's funny I heard Chris Broussard say Gianna's won a championship without another superstar and LeBron hasn't. Gianna's never had to go up against teams like the Spurs, OKC and Golden State. The only team you can compare the Suns to is the Heat.

1:49:00 well the Lakers needed that much firepower. The 76ers in the 80s had firepower, the Boston Celtics in the 80s had firepower, the Bad Boy Pistons in the late 80s had firepower. So the Showtime Lakers needed those players if they wanted to beat those teams for the championships
I didn’t think low and ticket would stick around the way they did. I’m glad they did
I’d love to be in a debate with the older dudes because I feel like it would be a much enjoyable debate regardless whether we agree or disagree. The idea that people are debating Kobe or Magic as far as more impactful as a winner is insane. Lakers were always a contender even after Kareem retired.

Listen I’m a huge KD fan and let me say in this Era KD has been the best player for many years tremendously skilled but Ticket is 💯on his KD take!

2. The Spurs WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP the year LeBron was drafted. Then they won again in 05 and 07. They played up to at least the Eastern Conference Semifinals 12 out of 13 years from '03-'15. They definitely go to 7 str8 Finals if they get Lebron in '03
Western conference champs from '89-96:
Portland, Lakers, Portland, Phoenix, Houston 2x, Seattle.
Eastern Conference champs during that same period:

1:57:05 thats the toughest one to me. And to be honest, you can flip a coin between Magic and Tim in terms of winning for the organisation. But I will give the slight edge to Magic because the Lakers became that global franchise with his arrival and the winning aura excellence he brought. Because before Magic, the Lakers were looked at as underachievers or choke artists at best. And that Showtime era made the Lakers into one of the greatest franchises of all sports
You can say the same for tim. They had no championships before he got there and the five they got is because of him. Him and the admiral put spurs on the map
@@SAC_0825 yeah they put them on the map. But the Lakers as a franchise is on a different level than the Spurs.

Spurs were 50 game or better win team from 2003 to 2017 so lebron added is at least +5 or +6 games on that record.
I think pop wud have known wht he had frm the beginning
Based on Spurs track record and the fact that Lebron loves Pop, that partnership would've worked
It doesn’t matter whether if Raptors was a threat or not but it’s rare to see the top player (they were all stars, leading their teams in scoring) from 3 teams to come together and play in the same team. That’s rare as hell.
