The steps you've just shown are the exact first steps I always do when configuring a new macbook. I wish more people were aware of those little tweaks. Thank you for sharing, you'll help many people!
The only thing I wouldn't follow is using "Magic" mouse. Your wrist will hurt after just 5min of using it. Worst Apple product ever, don't understand why would they stick to same bad design for so many years.

unfortunately I could not find myself to buy an m3 so I just bought a used MacBook Air m1 16 GB on eBay for now
