Every time I watch this video, it makes me cry. The Killers get so much emotion and passion into their songs, I'm sure they're one of the most underrated bands of the decade.
every single time the strings swell to those high notes I get chill bumps and the hair on the back of my neck stands up, when the song ends I am almost in tears. Every. Single. Time. I don't even care for many of The Killers songs (Human is my fave) but this one is just off the charts.
This song has actually created an atmosphere of no flaming I've looked through like 10 pages of comments and have seen no arguments. That's incredible.
I'm not a fan of The Killers. But this song is so good I'd pay for an entire concert just to hear it. It's...Magnificent, epic, marvellous in every possible way.
I don't really cry, but the strangest thing happened to me while listening to this performance: my eyes were so full of water that streams of liquid salt came out of my eye sockets and I had to blink to avoid being blinded by them. It was very weird...
Picture it: Nov 28, 2023, sitting in the grocery store’s parking lot watching this with massive tears in your eyes. It’s me. What a performance. Gets me every time.
I gotta say the killers are probably the best live band I've heard besides some of the classics. Such a great song you can Really tell Brandon puts his soul into this one since its for his mother.
This is an amazing performance...the live orchestra in the back ground...so much energy involved...they should have released this with the live orchestra!!
THAT'S WHAT I CALL GREAT MUSIC!!! *caps off* This performance blew me away!!! Absolutely fantastic!! So good to know that incredible bands like this still appear on the popular media, because frankly, everything else there kind of sucks. this performance was filled with passion. They aren't just amazing musicians. They blend together like few can, and Brandon's voice is absolutely fantastic. wow.
Great musical arrangement! I love it how the harp starts first, then the strings, a break and then guitars with the drums until at the end only one guitar. Beautifull! Great song.
I wasn't too into this song until I saw this performance. Now it's one of my favorites. They were amazing and with the orchestra in the back it made it perfect.
at 3:46 you can see that the woman on the left playing violin has a big smile on her face. hell, If I had the opportunity to play this AMAZING song in that orchestra with the AMAZING Killers, I'd have a huge smile too. :)
It would've been amazing if the Beatles did this with their later albums, having an orchestra to perform with them. Amazing performance by THEEEE Killers! ^_^
Simply increeeeeeeeeedible. Words just aren't enough. I've been watching this a minimum of once a day since i first came across it. is it just me or is Brandon crying at the very end?
I was at their concert in Miami last night. They simply rocked, they have really good sound performing live. They played hits and couple off tracks. Go see them its worth the money, or have friends that work for a newspaper and get extremely lucky to get tix practically free.
Looking back at that first comment, I'm not too sure why I swore and came across as aggressive. Incidentally, on what I said earlier, I will say that this song is one of theirs I think I enjoy most, for the emotion in it and the thought behind it - the emotion and passion particularly in this performance.
@DedeCali15 Brandon's mom. This song was written about how his parents met, his father's conversion to the LDS faith and begging his mother to not die. She had brain cancer and died in February.
I saw this on TV! It blew my mind! Thanks for posting, now I can watch again whenever I please :) My mum was watching it with me and saw Brandon's geeky little dances, she was like "he really can't dance." But I think it's adoreable.
This is one of their greatest performances live. The song was the perfect choice and they did it great.
I got chills and tears at the end.
me too
lol i see this on every video of them
This is the greatest live performance of all time. I cry everytime.
This is one of those songs where the live version absolutely blows away the studio verson
so much more emotion in an incredibly emotional song
I can't imagine the emotion Brandon Flowers goes through when singing this song, and how he remembers everything about his mom each time :(
The strength in his voice and heart. How does he manage to sing this song live knowing what it is about.
This is what a band with a feeling means.
Im 59 and should be reliving the sixties, but The Killers are something else, what a class act. Brandon Flowers is a real showman....Hey Thanks.
One of the best performances….♥️ love, love this song.
The strings and tympani add such richness and depth
It brings tears to my eyes seeing and hearing the passion in his voice during the last chorus, He's singing about his mother.
In 100 years time, the World will be still be watching this performance.
Who's still listening in 2020!! I play this song on repeat, my favorite song from them..❤️💔💔💔😭😔👸🏰
it's the greatest live performance i've seen
2023…still incredible.
Check out Beastie Boys ‘sabotage’ from letterman, as well…both songs are so perfectly raw, but SO well performed.
quite possibly the killers best live performance.. just absolutely perfect.
Brandon almost cried in the end I feel him just hearing this song makes me wanna idk it's just an awesome feeling
This song is about his mother. Whom has passed away. I'd totally understand why'd he get so emotional.
Every time I watch this video, it makes me cry. The Killers get so much emotion and passion into their songs, I'm sure they're one of the most underrated bands of the decade.
one of the only songs to bring me to tears. God bless Brandon and his family 😢

I'm not a fan of The Killers.

Just great, I can't stop listen to this live performance.
I don't really cry, but the strangest thing happened to me while listening to this performance: my eyes were so full of water that streams of liquid salt came out of my eye sockets and I had to blink to avoid being blinded by them. It was very weird...

This is my favorite version of this song. So much more passionate than the studio version! Brandon looks like he's about to take flight by the end.
