After holding the SCORPION EVO and B&T GHM9 there was no comparison in build quality and craftsmanship. Hands down the GHM9 felt like running my hands down a fully restored 65' Impala SS whereas when I picked up the Evo it felt like running my hands on a 05" civic. I mustard up the extra 1250 dollars and went with the GHM9 (only an extra 650 bucks if I didn't get the 600.00 tail hook brace ) but it was too cool for school . I know for a fact that this is a firearm that will outlast the Scorpion... Extar... Or any other fully Polly sub guns on the market . I plan on passing this on to my 13 yr old son when the time is right . It takes all my 33 , 17 , 15 , 12 round glock mags and spits out ..monarch fmj..geco hp..aguila hp .... Remington fmj ...hornady hp and windchester fmj's like it was competing in a long distance spitting contest... Not one jam in 500 rounds... I know it is still new but I can guarantee you that this gun will be around long after me.......
Never really knew much about B&T till I picked up my APC9k a few months ago. I can say that I love it and absolutely love everything about B&T and their offerings.
Finally adding a B&T to my collection with a GHM9. Just put one on layaway with a retractable Tail Hook Brace. After buying a lot of HK Handguns it felt like the natural next step for the collection. Can't wait!
*Sorry to waste a pinned comment on this, but I've got important info:* 1) CZ Fans BTFO: ruclips.net/video/i4LZTVcOWnQ/видео.html and www.czfirearms.us/index.php?PHPSESSID=569be2e357885bbb0d1e0953e56337c4&topic=91371.0 2) MSRP: There wasn't an official MSRP or any "street price" when I made this video, but right now it looks like the *pistol* versions are running $1200-$1300 and the stock is $150. So the price on the GHM9 is, functionally, $1,350 to $1,450. This is how I calculated the price for the Scorpion (pistol+stock), so I think it's fair to give a more precise number for comparison. 3) Hollow Points: I had a few people ask me how this ran with JHP. I didn't get the chance to run it with JHP this time, however, I did shoot a few boxes of CCI Blazer Aluminum 147gr which has a flat-nose profile (see here: i.imgur.com/nQII9L5.jpg) and it ran perfectly. I'll maybe do an MPX versus GHM9 video in the future where I run JHPs through both just to be sure. I hope you guys liked the video. - James
For sure. I like what you do, James... Your videos are fun, well said, and informative. Keep up the good work and by the way... Thank God Patrick doesn't do anymore vids ;) lol
I love mine dude. It's badass. Got It all decked out too. Rugged Obsidian9 trilug suppressor, holosun rmr style dot, surefire scout mini with pressure switch.. collapsible brace. Thing shreds
Exactly, if you've held both in your hands you'd know that a Scorpion feels like a cheap plastic toy compared to a B&T. Completely different ball parks.
Admittedly, I have trouble getting to the end of the newer narrators, Didn't want to exclude Alex and some original characters. Unstoppable M240 is one of my favorites, and he has gotten a good bit of my time as well. Keep it up!
I'm a new orleanian and go the St. Bernard Range all the time since I started shooting/practicing this past October! I damn near live at the range now 😂. the guys at the range are super cool, treat me like family and helped me become a way more accurate shooter over a very short period of time! right on!
Oct. 2023 - for anyone who might be interested, the compact GHM9 can now be found new for under $1k. Get one while you can - these things are great in both function and build quality!
The recoil spring is easy to keep in, it took me a couple tries... but if you rock the top in and towards the top of the receiver, you can control the spring.
I feel like the advent of 300 blackout made PCC obsolete, especially if the PCC is semi only. I like the idea of PDW, but there are cheaper and more effect ways of achieving it. Thoughts?
Marc Michel, If cost is a significant factor then get a micro Draco. Small package and cheap soviet ammo. I don't have experience with it but I hear 7.62x39 does well in 19.1 cm barrel. Better performance than 9mm Luger, all things being equal.
agbond003 I think 300 BO is highly overrated. It’s designed for suppressor use, but suppressed 300 has about the same power as .45 acp. Then compare the cost of the 2... Supersonic 300 is similar to a .30-30. Blackout is just an overpriced pile of meh in my opinion.
agbond003 my Scorpion is my #1 in-home defense weapon. If something goes bump in the night, I’m probably not going to have the time or wherewithal to put on hearing protection. I’d rather fire a pcc indoors over my AR or shotgun, and it’s much easier to suppress, too. I’m a big fan of pcc for indoor use for ease of suppression, maneuverability, and they’re much easier to accessorize and use effectively than a pistol. Just my 2 cents. My neighbors would probably prefer me using pistol calibers over 5.56, also. That penetration...
ej732 Every Pistol Mag here is in that range.😡 If it’s anything like the TP9 then it comes with 3 at least. AND if you own other B&T 9mm’s it looks like they are the same Mags as the TP9, etc (USW takes different Mags obviously).
Len M. The price isn’t really what turns me off, more so that fact it’s proprietary. Upside of going the AR route, can get a $7 steel mag on sale and it works in everything.
cbc82 He outed TFB as an organization essentially run solely by sponsors, only doing vids on stuff that people offered to pay them for, essentially overall didn't like the work ethic so he jumped bail. Of course, mindless fans don't care, and immediately go 'hurrrrr he dum'.
+Red McCloud Unfortunately, literally none of that is true, and I don't think Patrick R. ever said any of it. If he did, again, all of it is false. TFB and maybe Mr. GnG and Forgotten Weapons are the only major channels I am aware of that don't do paid reviews. We DO have sponsors, but we disclose that when we review a product from a sponsor. See my Savage MSR10 video for example. - James
you should take a look at the B&T USW universal service weapon. what looks at first glance like just a pistol with a stock becomes much more than just that when you get the concept behind it and see how much better it is than just a normal service pistol, especially in countries where there are no AR or shotguns in policecars.
I just figured out the G H M thing the other day while driving I knew about the grasshopper mouse eating the scorpion and it was taking aim at the Evo 3 but didn't realize until then even the name is Grass Hopper Mouse 9
My Gen 1 is as reliable and accurate as my SP5. The machining is superb and when you charge it you’d think that ball bearings were involved. They’re not. AR type TG is proven. My Scorpion is also reliable but just not as refined-but then again, two different price points. CZ is still an outstanding value regardless of pistol/SG interest.
If given a choice between the two while considering quality, realizability, accuracy, value, and accessories available, CZ is the one. Hopefully nobody here is going into combat any time soon, so from the perspective that either one is mostly for aerating paper at the range, certain features or lack thereof, are negligible. Choose the one that suits your purpose. Either will give you plenty of enjoyment and open up some new personalization possibilities!
You need to do a B&T GHM9 pistol vs the Grand Power Stribog 9mm pistol. They look very close to being the same firearm yet a little bit different looking.
Really enjoy your videos, the mail room thing is a lot of fun, that is a nice pcc for sure. I hate to be “that guy” and somebody else may have caught this, didn’t feel like reading all the comments, but that’s not a grasshopper mouse, it’s a kangaroo mouse.
Everybody hates on the scorpion, but I love mine and it cost me less, with a stamp than this pistol without a stock. Also, I purchased 4 30 round mags for the price of one of these. Call me crazy but both pistols, SBR's whatever do exactly the same thing for a significantly different price.
the scorpion is considerably cheaper though and that's still the main driving force for many people looking for guns. but me? I'd save up for that and wait for the next iteration. I really like this gun.
Compared to the scorpion: It's $500 more expensive, mags cost $40 more, reciprocating charging handle makes it more awkward to use, more work to disassemble and the folding stock is flimsy and super easy to break? Exactly what part of this is a "scorpion killer?"
Yeah... I’ll stick with the Scorpion. -Swappable charging handle. -Non reciprocating charging handle. -Price (MSRP and street). -CZ has great LE/Mil discounts -$20 mags. -About the same 1913 space available. -Just as compact, especially with OEM stock. -Great sight system. -For the same price of the B&T you could have a Scorpion SBR with stock kit and tax stamp. -Looks way nicer.
Great review but I'm sticking with my CZ Scorpion. I can't afford to always shell out loads of money for the latest and greatest. Next purchase will probably be the IWI Masada.
I wont lie... if I'm going to drop 1,200 to 1,500 on a pistol caliber carbine I'm likely going to go with a Kriss Vector. Sure, it's the size of a sail boat, but I can get it in 10mm and it takes Glock mags. To which, I hope they eventually make a magazine extension for 10mm like they did .45 ACP magazines as I'd very much love a 30 round 10mm magazine. While I've already got a 10mm carbine that takes Glock magazines, if I'm going to drop that kind of cash I may as well get one of the best for use with a heavier recoiling caliber. While I'm not a huge fan of 9mm pistols or carbines or just 9mm as a whole, this definitely has a lot of interesting features and honestly I'd love to see one rebarreled for .40 S&W, then it would really catch my eye. I think when you tell people that this is a Scoprion killer, they need to consider why it is. Size, weight, recoil control, accuracy, etc. All of those things really make this a much better gun for the purpose. While I like the Scorpion and think it's pretty cool and all, it's kind of the "budget" expensive carbine. It's nice, but there's better out there. I think if I was going to spend Scorpion money I'd sooner get a Beretta CX4 Storm myself, they are becoming harder to find and I predict they will be on a chopping block soon. But, they are fairly nice for such a simple gun. I have a hard time justifying a 1,200 dollar price tag on a pistol caliber rifle or carbine, but that doesnt mean people arent willing to spend that money on one. I think people are just tired of AR's, want something new and exciting, and more importantly many of those AR PCC's arent very good, and the B&T is most certainly reliable.
I keep watching these new PCC vids and wanted a B&T or Scorpion..but then I take my 10yr old, mostly polymer Beretta CX4 to the range and the f-ing thing just keeps running. For me, these types of firearms are just fun..but it's not replacing my AR or bedside pistol.
Dumping the ginger was addition by subtraction. His "Why I left TFB..." vid was lame. Keep rocking and rolling James. Also, how on earth can B&T expect to be the "Scorpion kill" when their pistol caliber carbine costs as much as a very good AR?
Techsmithmfg .com makes a Tailhook ready converted stock for this badboy... highly popular and we also developed a locking latch for it. Love this gun!!
Glock mags ugly?! Since when do we have to have pretty guns? That hydraulic buffer is problematic, at what point does the fluid freeze or lose its o rings to material fatigue and splooges all over and down the $70 proprietary magazines?
Glock mags suck in full auto, fact of the matter is single feed mags don't work in full auto firearms very well, hence why every ground up sub gun has double feed mags, since this is clearly just a semi auto version of a normal SMG, it shares the full auto mags.
Are there any configurations of the B&T that can take Glock mags, 9mm? and is there a nicer folding stock that can be used, that locks in place? one more thing, what model has the 1/2x28 threads, along with the other 2 options asked about? great video guys, I may have missed a few things though. I had planned for a zenith, but I think I like this better, at least for the cost. I just wish they would do something to eliminate the reciprocating charge handle. AWESOME, I LOVE IT WITH SOME IMPROVEMENTS....longer barrel option too, so I dont do something stupid, I see James in there with his fingers pretty close to the end...dont love that part. Otherwise, a great alternative to the zenith.
No CZ Scorpion hate. Every video about a PCC gets filled up with Scorpion fanboys, which is 100% fine with me. I don't care who watches and comments on my videos and I welcome all comments, good or bad and I love it when the CZ guys get on here and stir the shit. But that said, once you open the door with an "x is better than y" comment, I'll present the info I have if I disagree with you. The CZ has some apparent issues that lead to the receivers cracking. This is based upon my first hand information and what I have read on forums. I'd like to see it fixed because the gun has potential. - James
Todd Le yes. That means they have the benefits of pistols (suppressors work really well with the ammo, small and maneuverable, they have less penetration issues than rifles, etc) with many benefits (easier to use lights, more accurate, less recoil for faster follow up shots, better optic options). Personally, I’m a big fan.
I took my GHM9 out today and it performed horribly. They must have sent you a hand picked one. I couldn't even get through a full mag of fmj rn without a jam. As far as hollow points and flat nose wouldn't feed them at all. Sometimes the gun would malfunction so badly that the gun would jam and the mag would literally fall out. Pretty pissed considering the price tag and that I've already submitted a form 1 on it. I'll be contacting them and see what they have to say.
You can't go wrong with either ... I picked up the GHM9 about a month ago and man the blowback on this baby is as smooth as butter . I want the 45ACP pro now ... Either one or both.
I love your videos but the mpx k gen 3 is far and away a better weapon by a wide margin. the recoil impulse from the mpx k is almost zero due to the piston design and that's not exaggerating either. Its trigger is incredible at about 3.5lbs (timney single stage flat trigger) with about 2 millimeters of travel during reset. In fact its so fast and so short you can almost shoot it at full auto speeds I was floored the first time I took mine out. It is by far the best trigger out of any gun I own and I have a decent collection these days. The mpx accuracy is unbelievable as well with a 4.5in 1&7 twist barrel keeping a 2in shoulder fired group at 50 yards. I'm no pro shooter either and it was EASY to keep tight groups at stupid ranges for a short barrel 9mm. Even at 100 yards it was still impressive. I can't speak to the b&t as I haven't had any trigger time with it but from what I hear its not as accurate. The mags load surprisingly easy all the way through which I know doesn't matter much, but man its nice when shooting lots of rounds in an hour or 2. The two things i hate about my mpx k gen 3 is the price coming in a $2,200 fucking dollars and the brace/stock it comes with. The brace can rotate which is fucking stupid although mine takes a bit of effort to do and didn't affect me in any way I still hate it and will pin it or replace it soon. I think comparing the two is a little unfair because the mpx k gen 3 honestly is a different class of weapon, just the competition trigger it comes with alone sets it apart let alone the design and build quality. I have to admit the b&t does look cool and I eyeballed one pretty hard before finally deciding to spend the extra bucks and get the mpx and I'm glad I did! I hope this helps anyone whos on the fence between the two or even a scorpion which suck btw....they look and feel cheap and when a water test was done with it and the mpx the scorpion had rust showing up on the internal parts even after cleaning and oil while the mpx was perfect....just shows the corners that were cut making the scorpion.
Extra points for the mouse eating the scorpion. That's a bold move B&T
GHM literally stands for Grasshopper Mouse. It's a slap directly in the face of CZ
I love my ghm
I have to buy it just for the cockiness of the engraving now
same!
TFB TV so, the pistol is 922r compliant from the factory?
Yes. Lets throw a random short video with zero context out like a child. Unsubscribe. Jackass
> Calls names
> Takes ball and goes home
lol k
For sure. I like what you do, James... Your videos are fun, well said, and informative. Keep up the good work and by the way... Thank God Patrick doesn't do anymore vids ;) lol
kpelfrey13 Thanks man!
I've had one for several weeks and love it. The mags are rare as hens teeth though.
I just picked up the gen2 today! incredibly solid feeling! Can't wait to shoot it!
She smoov as silk?
I love mine dude. It's badass. Got It all decked out too. Rugged Obsidian9 trilug suppressor, holosun rmr style dot, surefire scout mini with pressure switch.. collapsible brace. Thing shreds
Comments are funny. People still think they can have a golden Rolex with a G-shock price.
Exactly, if you've held both in your hands you'd know that a Scorpion feels like a cheap plastic toy compared to a B&T. Completely different ball parks.
This shooter is no Rolex of a gun
Indeed, a Rolex is more fragile. Lets say Breitiling.
lmao i like this guy
For real, I always tell them to enjoy their hi-point carbine.😂
I'll wait a year or two and see what mods come out and see if that price drops a little bit.
I was waiting and saving for the p26.. just like u... know what happened, they discontinued the damn thing instead!!! What a dissapointment
did they really? i hope they keep this thing
Wish they actually sold for their MSRP
Can't even find them these days.
Yeah if you find them they’re still at least 1600 bucks, and that doesn’t even include the near 700 dollar brace 😂
Worth every penny trust me. Mines incredible
Great Review, James,
Some of the best TFB narration.

Did you ever make that side by side review of the GHM9 and the MPX/Scorpion? If not, please do it!
The upper receiver protruding so far behind the pistol grip makes it look like a modernized Thompson.
That's is a pretty awesome engraving! I would have never put that together.
It looks like a mix of UMP and TEC-9. Very attractive gun.
Love B&T, that said, I'm not selling my Scorpion. I have zero complaints with it, though I did modify it a slight bit with after market parts.
Great video boys, I love B&T rifles as well
The recoil spring is easy to keep in, it took me a couple tries... but if you rock the top in and towards the top of the receiver, you can control the spring.
Thats very clear yet discreet with that mouse killing a scorpion logo
Scorpion assassin for sure. And representing the Parish with all the familiar faces @ SBSC. St. Bernard strong baby! Who Dat!!!!!
I feel like the advent of 300 blackout made PCC obsolete, especially if the PCC is semi only.

I guess for recreation, PCC have a purpose.
I just think there are better performing options for the same role.

Cool gun and nice review. For a whole lot less, my money is on the Diamondback DB9R. It also uses non-proprietary Glock mags.
idk why but the profile of this makes me think Thompson..
LOL good eye! The receiver has the same profile and it protrudes backwards past the pistol grip like the Tommy. - James
Man i want one ive set my mind this is gonna be my next weapon may take me a year and a half but ive set my mind im gonna get one
Did you? :)
Lost me at $70 proprietary mags.

dude everything cant be an AR, thank god. That would be super boring.
D O not to mention, magpul mags are right around the corner. Manticore makes mags. List goes on
Sad to hear that we get them here in switzerland for 40 Bucks included taxes for the 30 rounds. In the other hand we pay much more for AR15 mags
Since the leprechaun Patrick left, we get to have so much more glorious shorts and smediums shirts.
lmfao ☺️
Why all the hate for Patrick R.?
I really liked that guy!
cbc82 Can't say I did myself, found him quite annoying. Preferred him behind the camera filming Alex C

Serious clairvoyance going on in this video
This thing keeps reminding me of the Tec 9
This gun looks amazing.

I just figured out the G H M thing the other day while driving I knew about the grasshopper mouse eating the scorpion and it was taking aim at the Evo 3 but didn't realize until then even the name is Grass Hopper Mouse 9
I just received three 30 round mags for my Scorpion for $60 from CZ themselves...
I'll stick with my EVO thanks..
B&T baby
Thanks for naming the price right at the beginning of the video.
that was some real detective work with deciphering that GHM title and engraving(or maybe im just a little slow)
I just bought a Scorpion. Brand new for 700. The B&T was listing for double.
I’d like to know where they sell for $1300.
I want that KH9 but $2k, I’m still in debt for getting the USW. B&T has by far the best quality SGM style firearms on the market hands down.
Just got one...damn impressive. Damn impressive.
LOVE the innovative, compact HYDRAULIC buffer. THIS is the way to dampen recoil, Forget those wear-prone H&K MP5 bolt rollers.
Holy mackerel, pot down that outro music.
My Gen 1 is as reliable and accurate as my SP5. The machining is superb and when you charge it you’d think that ball bearings were involved. They’re not.

Getting one I love the sneak diss towards the Scorpion 😂😂😂 & the TP9 on my list to get as well
Looks nice. Hopefully they will make a sexy brace for it.
Loved the nature lesson. Totally unexpected.
Looks like a reborn Spectre M4 SMG. Looks great.
You need to do a B&T GHM9 pistol vs the Grand Power Stribog 9mm pistol. They look very close to being the same firearm yet a little bit different looking.

Thanks James!
Real nice, I'd love one. A scorpion killer it may be but I can buy atleast 2 scorpions fir what this thing costs...... great video btw.
OK. Thanks. I have a Beretta CX4 Storm with red dot and I'm going to stick with that but maybe one of these will follow me home someday.
Whitpusmc
Same here but i have other guns on my wish list before another pcc.
Nothing bad to say about my cx4
BBC GHM-9 is on my list
I like that it's not as "clunky" looking as the Scorpion.
Great vid!
Have a SBRed Scorpion and want this for my collection.

its a big mac-10 with the mag moved forward.... I want one!!!
James with the quality video boiiiii
Try B&t apc 9, its superb!
Yeah... I’ll stick with the Scorpion.
-Swappable charging handle.
-Non reciprocating charging handle.
-Price (MSRP and street).
-CZ has great LE/Mil discounts
-$20 mags.
Thanks, Daniel-
I've been considering getting a new HK or MKE but I think I'll go with this.... it ain't $800 but it's Swiss!
Now finding easter eggs on guns
A "premium TEC-9"
Ivan Kurniawan look at the b&t p26. That's their take on the tec 9
@@cameronwilkson2982 the p26 design was sold to beretta and actually competed against the B&T APC9 in the US army pdw contract.
In your opinion what would you take the MPX or GHM-9? I like the look of the MPX.
Better than the Scorpion? The Scorpion has a more robust and comfortable stock, a non-reciprocating charging handle, a lower cost, and cheaper mags.

TFB TV Does this happen often? And how did this happen?
www.czfirearms.us/index.php?PHPSESSID=569be2e357885bbb0d1e0953e56337c4&topic=91371.0
TFB TV Two different malfunctions in 6 years. That's acceptable, right?
I agree, yes. But I know of two dealers/ranges personally who have also had this happen to their guns. It's a bad look. - James
No way this thing is better then the Apc9. Now that’s the best 9mm “subgun”. Hands down.
Haha you may be correct.
B&T actually explains the name of GHM-9 directly on their website, including the part it eats scorpion😂
Techsmithmfg .com makes a Tailhook ready converted stock for this badboy... highly popular and we also developed a locking latch for it. Love this gun!!
Glock mags bro, Glock mags... They would kill it with that being the case
I agree but god *damn* Glock mags look so ugly in a PCC. That angle just kills the vibe. - James
TFB TV It is a sexy bitch but that would cut out paying 70$ a pop for more mags that only work with one gun
Glock mags ugly?! Since when do we have to have pretty guns? That hydraulic buffer is problematic, at what point does the fluid freeze or lose its o rings to material fatigue and splooges all over and down the $70 proprietary magazines?
William Keith my exact question. At what point does it start to fail/leak?
What you want is the APC-9 Pro with the Glock compatible lower
B&T THROWIN SOME SHADE
I prefer the Stribog SP9A1 save about 400 bucks for more ammo/accessories
In other words, you've never shot a B&T lol.
Not arguing that this is a great little gun but whats up with all the CZ Scorpion hate?
No CZ Scorpion hate. Every video about a PCC gets filled up with Scorpion fanboys, which is 100% fine with me. I don't care who watches and comments on my videos and I welcome all comments, good or bad and I love it when the CZ guys get on here and stir the shit. But that said, once you open the door with an "x is better than y" comment, I'll present the info I have if I disagree with you. The CZ has some apparent issues that lead to the receivers cracking. This is based upon my first hand information and what I have read on forums. I'd like to see it fixed because the gun has potential. - James
Stop triggering me BWB
I am in a state of fragility
Backwoodsboy405 - umm ok, say hi to your mother for me.
Definitely getting one
this would be wild with an FRT trigger (if compatible)
Is it worth it to spend the extra money for the APC 9 over the GHM 9 if its a range toy?
I'll stick to my Beretta CX4 ;)
George Mink have one and like it, still this is a very nice weapon.
Do they make a carbine version of this like cz and sig do? (Rifle length)
Unless they are fully automatic, what is the point of having semi-automatic submachine guns? Are they just oversized 9mm handguns?
Todd Le yes. That means they have the benefits of pistols (suppressors work really well with the ammo, small and maneuverable, they have less penetration issues than rifles, etc) with many benefits (easier to use lights, more accurate, less recoil for faster follow up shots, better optic options). Personally, I’m a big fan.
SICK! On my list
Damn, I can't decide between the apc9 or the ghm9. Hmmm... 🤔
You can't go wrong with either ... I picked up the GHM9 about a month ago and man the blowback on this baby is as smooth as butter . I want the 45ACP pro now ... Either one or both.
Love B&T. Top notch stuff but prices in the stratosphere.
I love b&t stuff
Anything b&t is top notch
IF you could only have one which one and why? APC9 vs GHM9?
B&T are dominating the PDW space....
This seems like a good carbine, but I don't think I'd give up my PC9 for it.
