Yay, glad you liked that duo and VR! I have been using them constantly, equally awesome mid-summer as mid-winter which has been great. Thank you so much for the watch!

I use the Angels and Ancestors Oracle with Ancestral Path Tarot. The imagery of both decks play well together with their depictions from various cultures and the ancestral theme they both share offers such synergy. I was able to view the Ancestral Path Tarot guidebook through my Scribd subscription. I haven’t spent much time with it, but the quick flip through I did showed some interesting perspective and insight into the cards.
This was a great video. Exploring deck pairings is kind of an obsession for me, so I hope lots of folks jump on the bandwagon.

Me too - I love getting ideas from watching what others pair together. And thanks so much for the suggestion!! I have Angels and Ancestors but haven't put them next to each other. Going to check it out now! So helpful, thank you!

I am truly sorry! I see you and I feel your pain🤣
It is a great way to think about using decks you already have or narrowing down your wishlist to things that will complement what you already have. But dangit if ultimately the joy of seeing all the beautiful decks translates mostly to an even more ridiculous wishlist...

Animal apothecary and Kawaii Tarot (one with unicorns), gentle tarot and magical spirit oracle, iris and pip speak. Tarot of the sweet twilight and energetic of color or iris deck paired maybe. Sacred symbols can be paired with all of your decks and soul cards could be paired with hoodoo tarot. Those are my votes.

I very rarely use my combined 1 & 2 Soul Cards. Usually only used for a huge life event. But one card really sums it up and says it all. So I never use it with another deck.

This is such a fun tag and I’ve been really wanting to start making some videos , if I do get around and stop procrastinating I will definitely be doing my take on your tag!
I have a question. I started my spiritual/divination journey about a year and a half ago, so I’m still very much at the absorbing & experience stage, however there’s a few decks that I really resonate with but I don’t own (yet) because of the themes & culture of these decks-the hoodoo & Santa Muerte. I’m an Italian born & raised in NYC and I just wanted your opinion regarding working with these decks as it seems like some find it disrespectful and others don’t, it seems there’s a fuzzy grey area and I just wanted your own feedback (or anyone else reading this) regarding working with certain decks that are not of the same culture? I know that I obviously don’t need permission and can buy these decks however I’m really interested in what others feel & think and I like to know about their takes as well.
Hope I made sense, lol. It’s 1:30 am and I’m tired so who knows if I’m just rambling nonsense lol.

It does make sense! And I appreciate anyone that works with these dilemmas in an effort of respect and thoughtfulness. I agree that it is a challenging call that everyone has to work out on a personal level and I respect those that choose not to work with decks of other cultures. I have had a similar wrestle with my yoga practice as I do with sharing some of these decks. (A great book reference I studied in Yoga and applies in many ways to this tarot question is "Embrace Yoga's Roots: Courageous Ways to Deepen Your Yoga Practice" by Susanna Barkataki ) She also has a great blog that tackles cultural appropriation issues.
My first check that I do is if the creator of the deck is someone from that culture. Hoodoo and Medicine deck are 2 examples where that is true - I haven't looked at Santa Muerte. (My rule exception here is mythology decks or goddess decks that derive from multiple cultures as long as they are well researched)
While this is a personal opinion, I believe that spirituality is one part of culture that is intended (by most but certainly not all cultures) to be spread and shared outside of its native lands. Where I think it goes wrong is when that spirituality is turned toward profits or superficiality and the depth of the practice and its cultural significance is completely diluted or adopted with a too-shallow effort at study.
I think it's also important in our effort at cultural sensitivity that we don't shut down our curiosity for other spiritual traditions. I hear the oracle's voice speak through astrology and all of my tarot and oracle decks whether they are created from one cultural perspective or another. For me though I draw the line at using those decks with others or anything that would approximate profiting from a spiritual practice that was not a deeply adopted part of my life. I learn from the experiences (and decks) of others, but I don't pretend I "know". It's even uncomfortable for me to talk about these decks in my videos because I know I'll never be as sensitive and well researched as I should be - but I also think these decks are amazing and want more people to appreciate them too! I hope that is helpful even a little bit and thank you again for asking the question and being thoughtful in your journey:)
