my roommate started making coffee while i was watching this; and for a solid two minutes before i realized that, it somehow totally made sense to me that i could smell what you were working on.
I was also thinking about the coffee smell while you were working on the lathe! The big question is "How well is the mug holding up?" Given that the beans weren't fully engulfed in resin at the top, I was wondering whether they started coming off.
I made something similar (different kind of bean) and yeah, they did start coming out. I'm guessing it was an effect of the moisture levels causing them to expand/contract when they weren't fully engulfed. I filled the gaps with UV resin for the ones that came out as I was turning, then coated the whole thing in a food safe polyurethane coating. It's only been a few weeks but it's held up well so far.
2:29 Is it possible to make small squares of the raisin before using that process? Because then you could've closed the container off to make everything more aligned with the bottom of the container, by putting something heavy on that square.
Would it be possible to have more space between the beans to get more see-through bits? I guess they are not heavy enough to put into the pre-poured cup to let them sink down.
Dang what a crazy coincidence, as i was watching this i thought to myself how cool it would be to have a cup made of coffee beans here it is a cup made of coffee beans 🤣🤣🤣
coffee and epoxy were irrationally spent, it would be possible to use a round mold for pouring and insert something round inside, as an option, you can make an airtight mold from plastic or use plastic bottles
THANK YOU FOR MAKING SOMETHING DIFFRENT!!!!!! Every channel I watch makes bowls, vases and boxes (very, very beautiful ones) and it gets a bit monotonous after awhile. (Understand I'm not downing that content it's just wonderful to see fresh ideas) AND COFFEE!!!!!!! Need I say more?
thanks for watching please subscribe
I know I’m late but this is just amazing! 10/10

Exactly my thought!

"Man, I asked for a cup of coffee, not a cup made of coffee."
"Is there a difference?"
I want that cup, must smell real nice.
I also want that cup
Me too

"it's a coffee cup, i don't see the problem sir"
i bet the aroma of your shop was awesome for days.
Never done wood turning, could someone explain the physics of the boat? Is it just a fume catch?
That is really cool.
Interesting piece of work. I am sure it made the shop smell wonderful. Thanks for sharing. 👍😁🇨🇱🇺🇸

Why not use a cylindricar mold/container from start? Does it have to be cubic for resin?
I will take a stab at it and say that you literally and figuratively and metaphorically made a beautiful coffee mug.
Bet this one smelled good. Coolest coffee tumbler ever. I'd buy it if for sale.
Love it Villy and as others have said your workshop must have smelt fantastic.
Take care Villy.
Cheers, Huw
Coffee heaven for sure.
The cutest coffee cup ever!
What a cool idea!
AGAIN THANK YOU!
LOVE IT SO MUCH!

I have only one question. Why are blanks square?
Your work always calms me.
Always satisfied at the end.👌👌

Great idea! Awesome result!
Your shop must smell delicious.
Wow , that is so cool, your shop must have smelled amazing while doing this. Love it.
So nice
THIS IS GLORIOUS!!! IT IS WORTHY OF MY COFFEE!!!
Looks beautiful
Doesn't resin soften when heated?
I'm a coffee lover and I love this cup. I bet your workshop smelled awesome. I'd like to make one for myself but I do t have the pressure pot :-(
Without pressure pot you can make little pour to avoid the bubble it took more time but it’s gonna be fine
What fantasy! Very well done!
Well done. Very interesting concept.
And this is why I love crafts (plural for the many craft disciplines)
I love wood turning videos without talking. I love all the sounds thank you

It's 1 am but I want coffee. Nope, better not. That was fascinating and looks good.
Thanks for sharing, cool project and interesting process. Full View and Like 👍
Would painting the outside with some more epoxy be beneficial??
Making this must have smelled AMAZING.
That's one drink I will never try...but that final product is beautiful.
What do you do with all the material that you loose?
That is freaking AWESOME!!!
Thanks 🙏🏻

So did it smell good?
When you turned it did the smell wake you up
What did it smell like turning this?
Is it a bad idea to touch it while its spinning or is it fine?
Fella knows how to take the term "Coffee Cup" to a whole 'nother level
Hermosa pieza, muy original!!!!💖💖💖💖
Especially when a piece narrows down, how do you calculate how far you can go hollowing it out without having a thinner wall deeper in?
Incredible result, I love it
did you get a caffeinehigh from inhaling it?
Can you tell us how delicious that shop smell after the work you made
Very cool idea. I wonder what could be done to prevent the little white spots.
This is cool.. Love it!!
You Sir are a Champion! Thank you!
It's just the things you come up with in the ideas that you have a very unique
I wonder if it smelled like burnt coffee when he was shaving it, or if it just smelled like fresh ground coffee with resin in it
What is This for you can I phone
One question: How'd it smell?
It smell petty insanely good 👍🏻
Sweet.
why do you use a rectangular cup? wouldn’t it be easier and more efficient to use a round one
I bet that smells phenomenal for a coffee lover
Can these be bought. I know so many people who would love this.
cool.....but I don't like all the plastic at the bottom, any thought of sawing that off?
do vanilla beans next.....very expensive.....but very fragrant
Super 👷👍
Oooh, loved this. I wonder if it would be possible with other things like nuts. Would be cool to see

Thanks 🙏🏻

awesome job!!!!what type and brand vessel are you using to cure it? I'm assuming its a pressure chamber and not a vacuum
Yup it’s a pressur pot
It's freaking beautiful work man it's just I can't seem to get over how much waste this creates
I don't get it. Wouldn't once you strip off the epoxy outer layer from the bean wouldn't the inside just be exposed roasted bean?
Were you able to smeel it while turning?
Where do I buy this ?

nvm, saw the end and there is a metal insert
I really love that you’re a South Paw!!!
Thanks
You know, it's not coming like it sounds in my head... You added so many coffee beans😬😬😊😊
