Full of good and easy to understand information, I learn something new from each video I watch! I really like your restorations and cleaning resulting in good usable tools!
I have an old Japanese 1/4 drive ratchet like that. I've used it for years and it's never failed me. You're absolutely right about them not being made to remove head bolts. Its called having the right tool for the job. I used mine to remove small bolts on plastic auto body interior parts with clips where a lot of torque isn't necessary.
I agree, right tool for the job, plus makes your life easier, you got to see the tools box I bought from a body man was loaded with body fasteners, body screws, bulbs, paint chips color cards!
Nice clean-up DJ even a no name ratchet is worth cleaning up and saving. I have one similar to that one that is stamped USA but no manufacturer name. And 1/4" is not going to break when used properly. Your saving so much money. Thanks DJ great video
In a bundle of American made tools i picked up, had a no name round head 3/8 drive ratchet that just says Japan on the handle. Ratchets good, haven't taken it apart yet.
I just cleaned up and re-lubed a used 1/4 SK i bought off of Ebay. It's the 60 tooth version. I dont think it was even used, or at least only a few times. The chrome was still impeccable except for the old "round-head ratchet" wear spot on one side. I usually try to make sure i pay attention and lay them on their back when laying them down. I think im fixing to get a wright ratchet ith the contour handle in the main 3 drive sizes. There's some good prices on them around right now. If i can find a good price on it, i usually try to buy contact cleaner to clean most of my stuff with.
I have a hard time finding contact cleaner around here, I keep some at work for some equipment, I hope you get your wrenches, am looking at online auction now on another site!!!
I am still looking for a good quality rebuild kit for the craftsman 3/8 drive ratchet. If you mentioned it I might have missed it as I have missed a few of your videos.

This gentleman is my kind of guy, we could talk about these projects forever, I’m ocd about my stuff
Thank you for the kind comment, sorry for the delay in my response, I work a lot!
Great tips. I have never disassembled a ratchet head like that. I need to save this video and try it in the future.
Yea, it's not bad at all, a lot of companies made this style!

I have not found any, like you looking all over, lucky to find new old stock, now I buy any old broken ratchets for parts!
