I just clicked on the subscribe button inmediatly after watching the Daniel Roth and Roger Dubuis video and now on this. I'm so tired of videos with so much production and not too deep knowledge. People is more focused nowadays on how you send a message than the message itself. Watching your videos is so satisfying and rewarding. So much knowledge and feels as approachable as if I was sharing a dinner with a true gentleman absorbing the best of horology lessons I could get. Greetings from Canary Islands (Spain). All the best. Fran.
Thank you Francisco. I just like to use these videos for a conversation with others who enjoy horology! While not Spain or even Mexico ... still today is Cenco de Mayo! Take care, Bill
Possible future video topic; a episode on ultra thin watches. My personal criteria for "ultra-thin" are sub 5mm thick for manualwind, sub 7mm thick for automatic.
That Greubel Forsey Handmade is one hell of a grail watch, but that Étudié looks amazing as well 😁 I would definitely love to get a watch with fuse and chain, but the budget won't allow at the moment. Thanks Bill 👍🏽
Very interesting video Bill. I love these videos. I've learned to make the movement a bigger part of my watch collecting philosophy. Best regards, Brian
Good morning! I wanted to reach out and ask you what you think about Vintage Bucherer. I was looking at some really cool vintage watches on line, wondering in their internal works have a history, in your opinion of being good quality. Thank you!
Fascinating. That last "chain" pocket watch, you did not explicitly say if there any examples of current in production watches with the "chain" mechanism. Still I very much enjoyed your discussion. Thank you.
I don't know about current as in 2024 availability but apart from Lange, Breguet, Zenith and Ferdinand Berthoud have had fusee wristwatches in the last few years
As wristwatches go I saw a Leroy (I googled it: Leroy Chronomètre à Tourbillon) a few years ago in a small, but well acclaimed service and I was fascinated by the movement and liked the fact that the watch doesn't 'show-off' with it, it wasn't skeletonized, but had a beautiful traditional style enamel dial.
Hey Bill thanks man! I'm never sure how to pronounce anything since I live with a hearing loss. GRUBL is almost like 'Gerbil' -- 4C is easy! Take care, Bill

Zenith made fusee and chain wrist watches about ten years ago , a tribute to Georges Favre-Jacot the founder of Zenith .
Thanks V-man! Take care, Bill
Came here to say this. Watchfinder has an excellent video featuring the piece or one of them rather than

Abdul, they're not expensive in pocket watches on eBay ... but they're just too thick; even for a pocket watch. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci Yes, I saw a couple of ones on ebay, but I would rather save for the E.4 :D
I've collected a few fusee chain watches to play around with, the verge movement is sort of funky & interesting.

It's possible to decorate junk, Bryan, but what really counts in a mechanical watch is what makes it tick.😉 Take care, Bill
Got an idea for a video. Can you identify manual wind, sub 3 hz, non silicon movements? Thanks.
The only ones that do Fusee and chain wrist watches are: Zenith, A. Lange & Sohne, Brequet, Ferdinand Berthoud, LeRoy, Cabestan and Romain Gauthier.
