- At the heart of the gateway of Northern Mindanao rises the third state-run university system of the Philippines geared towards excellence in education, research, extension and innovation - the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines - Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO), recognized as a CHED Center of Excellence in Information Technology and Centers of Development in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.
To enhance the learning experience of the students, USTP CDO continuously upgrades buildings to ensure an environment conducive for innovative learning, critical thinking and team building. The brand-new 3-storey technology building offers new lecture rooms designed to accommodate a large number of students. The new Fabrication Laboratory provides classrooms and work areas designed to suit the needs of students taking automotive courses.
The Library offers a wide array of resources from books, journals, online learning materials and publications to enhance learning. It also offers access to hundreds of Open Access Journals that are useful in conducting research.
Undergraduate and graduate students can hold meetings, do small group project presentations and thesis or dissertation defences at the well-equipped discussion rooms.
With its spacious and peaceful venue, conducive for reflection and intellectual introspection, students will surely love to stay at the USTP CDO Library.
USTP CDO constantly hosts forums and conferences at its spacious theaters. These have been venues for both local and international intellectual discussions, socio-cultural performances, and student activities.
The Performing Arts Theater (PAT) can seat as many as 300 persons.
Explore with technology at the College of Technology building’s numerous laboratories. This is where students receive hands-on training on areas such as automation, mechatronics, electrical and electronics circuits.
As an innovation university, USTP encourages students, stakeholders and start-ups to get their creative juices flowing. The Maker Space offers a venue where innovators and entrepreneurs can meet to collaborate and create.
CDO b.i.t.e.s. with USTP and the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology, Research and Development houses start-ups and budding companies engaged in multimedia and ICT-based solutions in our incubator program. It offers office spaces, equipment, mentorship, high-speed internet and more to our incubatees.
