  • Join knightarcana, vantasticmess, and gryfeathr we take an in-depth look at Persona 4 and address some of the key themes that show up in the game, such as:
Jungian psychology and Jung's concepts of the "persona" and the "shadow".
Tarot, the major arcana, the Journey of the Fool, and how the cards symbolically tie into the characters they represent.
Japanese mythology, the story of Izanami and Izanagi, Shintoism, and some of the cultural themes that tie heavily into the game's story.
And why everything you thought you knew about Adachi Tohru was wrong.
This is NOT a spoiler-free panel, so please enjoy with caution!
    Steak, sadly, not included.
(With special thanks to GrandeMagnifico for filming and ktjayne @ tumblr for audio!)

I disagree about Adachi being Despair and Namatame as Emptiness. I think Adachi is well suit for Emptiness than Namatame. At heart, Adachi is really empty compared to Namatame. He lost everything (dream and hope, advance in his career) and even reject everything that come into his life by not taking it meaningfully, that's why to him everything is dull and pointless. While Namatame still have his own justice-type of thought left, there are still some thing that he saw as meaningful, like saving people, that give him a meaning for living but Adachi has none. But because being in desperate situation, the way Namatame expresses his justice was messed up (like not doubting if inside the TV's really a safe place to throw people in to?).
But this is a great panel! I like to see Persona 4 analysis and Adachi is my favorite character too! xD

Thank you. x3 A lot of stuff is making a lot more sense to me now.
I've always had this certain sense and connection that this game/anime has a lot more to it. It just seemed very deep. But I could never put my finger on exactly what it was. This helps a lot though. :)
