The game, which featured a pitch invader and a tense penalty, saw La Roja make history with their first ever international title win. Olga Carmona's first-half goal settled a tense finale to the tournament played out in front of 75,000 fans at Stadium Australia in Sydney. Spain fans celebrated their team's success wildly throughout while England fans looked defeated but many still insisted that they were 'proud' of their girls despite the defeat for taking the women's game forward in popularity.

Penalty definitely should have been retaken. Most obvious goalkeeper moving towards kicker

The unsportsmanlike behavior of the English during the penalty is a reflection of what they produced during the last 6 minutes, as pitiful as they were pathetic, of their European title. As always British fair play is a vast joke. Congratulations to Spain for this well-deserved victory! Moreover, the penalty should have been withdrawn!

If Kelly would stop trying to hurt players at every game, she would be an excellent and fair player and everyone would be talking about her. It's a pity that she decided otherwise.

Congratulations to both the winning team and runner up team. I expected a final score of 2 - 0 in favor of England. Spain had dropped their key primary 12 players in retaliation for participating in a strike against the national coach, accusing him of harassment, and this is the back up Spanish team. The Spanish team wanted a new coach. Instead they got the World Cup Football (soccer in the US) for Spain. I wonder if the allegations are true. The false accusations levelled by the main team players include his alleged attempts to kiss players on the lips. Spanish Football federations say there is no video proof, and that coach has friends in high places in Spain. Coach defense : "I am a married man."
