  • Qatar 2022 is at the and of this year. So I decided to create a compilation about the most iconic moments in the history of the World Cup. These moments are the most memorable from all of the World Cups there've been held over the years. We all remember the headbutt from Zidane in 2006. Which is one of the most iconic moments in football's history. This video is about such moments. Hopefully you enjoyed this video.

      1982 was an underrated tournament.
Austria vs Germany, this was before the final group games were played simultaneously. I think Algeria needed Germany to beat Austria to go through and become the first ever African nation in a World Cup knockout stage but they played out a boring 0-0 draw to ensure that they both went through.
France’s Batiston getting knocked out cold by W. Germany’s goalkeeper Schumacher, then not receiving any punishment whatsoever.
The Brazil of that year are considered along with the Hungarian team of 1954 to be the best team to not win the World Cup with players like Socrates, Zico & Falcao.
Italy vs Brazil in the quarter finals is widely still considered to be one of the greatest games of football ever played.
Paolo Rossi being an absolute magician, Dino Zoff’s heroics, Norman Whiteside of Northern Ireland becoming the youngest player to ever play in a World Cup, the controversy with the Kuwait national team, New Zealand making their World Cup debut, Hungary beating El Salvador 10-1. It had a ridiculous amount of memories and moments but got left out of this video.

@@paccco5491 I agree re. this video, and I'm not sure about YT, but back when TV was the dominant medium, Tardelli's celebration was always shown. With Baggio, his whole tournament was iconic (in the UK, I once watched a show on which the host was trying to summarise every WC tournament ever played, using just 1 or 2 sentences for each. '94 was, I think "It was far too hot and an Italian had a ponytail").
It's just the penalty miss was the last part of that tournament , and lost the match and the cup. It's just the most emotive, iconic moment of his (or anyone's) '94 tournament, so that gets picked out. I'd imagine there are others though, like you say.

Then they get smashed like this, honestly it was poetic. Bayern Munchen smashing Barcelona 8-2 was my favorite score in a club fixture game ever. Literally everyone knew Bayern would win comfortably but never score 8 goals, and it could have been more. Barcelona were lucky it was only 1 game that year and not 2 legged otherwise we could have seen a historic aggregate score in the Champions League.
