I love being out there, well out here. I was out for three hours with my dog today found some cool rocks at least for Massachusetts. I agree it’s very cleansing, cleanses away the sorrow at least temporarily
Thanks! I do not know why it has such little effect on me... Maybe it is all the practice? The first couple times up there I was not nearly so fearless.
Duuuuude we are on top of some Amethyst Nodules too! They can be over 200 lbs here in bc, the mother of the piece I have was 70lb 😮 We definitely need to sit and chat, mark them on maps and see what lies in between our 2 sites. There could be more!
I’m in Lillooet, but the Amethyst site is within 100km of Kamloops. I won’t say anymore than that on public forum 😝 I can meet up anywhere near my area thou if we go dig one day

This was my first time back on the mountain after my mother passed, she was my best friend. I like to hope her and gramma helped me find that new spot. It did make me feel better to finally show my mom my place, she couldn't make the trip before.

Very cool, me and my wife have been avid hikers and now started rock hounding, it all started with some Flowerstone and Dallasite on the beach by our house, definitely going to be exciting to head up in the mountains!!! we are in the CR area 😉
Thanks. I do use my geo pick as a mountaineering tool, it is invaluable. I bought those flash new red gloves that morning at the gas station and it was sure worth it on a cold day. I did buy a few of those head and body mounts for my gopro, but it broke and now I use my phone. I bought a gimbal, but its huge and I cant work it. I have outdoor skills and not tech skills, so I give what I can :)
All your videos are awesome....but this one is tops! My new favorite of yours. Had it all...sketchy exploring, killer rocks and crystals, majestic beautiful nature, whimsical and zany comedy 😁 and, fun and interesting informative geology stuff. That amethyst geode was insane! There was a rather interesting specimen at 13:40 (I think it was.) That is very cool you found an amazing new spot with agates and geodes popping out. I loved that green vein too! You pulled out that one chunk with all those juicy green layers. It's good to know you are able to be refreshed and rejuvenated by being out there. I hope you are able to find solace out there. Appreciate this awesome video. I was totally looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint. Oh, and I enjoyed seeing some of the worked rocks you found. Take care, my friend! 👍👍
Wow. What an excellent comment. Thanks man, I appreciate it. The videos take a long time because I like to work some of the better pieces a little bit so you all can see them at their best. II am working on another one, just finishing up some pieces to show. Thanks again. :)
hi, hows it going, just wanted to thank you for your support over the last year and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year , take care and catch you 🎄😊🎄😊
My wife and I just started rockhounding with a trip to New Mexico. So we're using youtube to scout new places to hunt in the future. Arizona, Arkansas, Missouri, and so on. You're climbing slopes there's no way my wife and I would tackle but we would in general like to know where you're hunting. Sounds like Canada though. I immediately subscribed as you have good content. Thanks for sharing!
@@MrEvelTattoo Thank you sir. Right now I am trying to accumulate a representation of choice specimens of all the varieties of treasure up there. Its no small task, she shows me new minerals every time!
That.🌴ree. @ 9:20 in the video is going to cause that Lip on the mount an to fracture off and slide down the mountain side. The Roots will search down each time water seeps into the cracks.
I am guessing this volcano is extinct, and no chance of it erupting again? Do you know how old it is? I know you said you had a mine permit and Canada has strict rules on what can and cant be done on the land. Now this might be a dumb question and the terrain may make it impossible anyway, but what goodies do you think you will find if you started back hoeing the volcano? So far, you have found some pretty cool rocks and minerals, but I am curious about what is in there deeper. It is so cool that you climb up an ancient volcano!
To my knowledge, I am the first person to call it a volcano. I assume it is dormant. I can only date the eruptions by the fossils I find in it. Late Eocene is all I can say. So, around 50-60mya. I dont think I need to mine it, as it is basically a mountain cut in half to form those cliffs. I kind of already am on the inside when walking on the face. It is very cool and has been a fantastic journey of discovery and understanding.
