I really like this guy's way of playing and almost bluesy singing. Would love to hear more from and about him.

In brief William played mbira from a very young age in the area around Chiriseri in the countryside north east of Harare, but dates developing his expertise and deep grounding in the music from his time in the mhondoro area in the late 1960's. Here he learnt from many great players of the time including the well known Bandambira. He has great ability to both delve into the traditional repertoire, compose new tunes, arrangements and parts and play with western musicians including guitarists.

Is this what William Chitauro would call 'Nherera', @Mike P?

Hi there, I have had a quick chat with William and he is happy if its called Nherera. The Shona word nherera translates as orphan in english and the song is about being kind to orphans, sadly a common situaltion in Zimbabwe at present.
