I bought a PSA 101 to try out. I'm going to release a video in late July. Here are the cliff notes just based off visual inspection (I haven't fired it yet ). The front trunnion is based on the akm and the bolt is based off the AK74. This is weird because normally AK 556 are either based totally on the AKM (like the arsenal 106) or the AK74 (like the Beryl- which is based on the tantal that was copied from the 74). You see one or the other to maintain proper lock and unlock between the trunnion and bolt. Also, to maintain an appropriate feed angle. You do see proprietary designs work like the Wasr 3 (based on the aims 74) or the WPB (completely original design). But ... To have an AKM sized trunnion and 74 sized bolt is weird and creates issues with feed angle and lock/ unlock. What I see is a bolt that is not fully unlocking before it starts to move backwards so the bolt is dragging on the trunnion as it cycles. Great opportunity for increased stress on the parts.
I mean.....it'll probably work .... But I'm predicting premature wear on the bolt and trunnion that will lead to head space or feeding issues as we get around 1000 rounds.
Their are other issues like the riveting, Dimpling, magazine height, ECT.....but those can be fixed. The core parts being this bad .... cannot be fixed.
Again....this is visual inspection only and my predictions. I need to shoot it.

First, thank you for commenting and adding this knowledge! This why you’re the expert lol. I hadn’t noticed any of that and don’t have the technical knowledge to even be able to identify any of that. Thanks for all of that info.
I’m planning to have 1k RDS through it by the end of July myself and would love to send you pictures of the internal wear patterns if you’d be willing to take a look.

@@conceptualconcepts6.9 I'm definitely not an expert.....I'm just a hobbyist who spends too much time building Kalashnikovs. Just tag me when you publish the follow up video. I'll see it. If you break the rear trunnion, let me know. It'll take me about 45 min to replace it correctly (dimpled with swell necks using 4.5mm long rivets not 4mm that PSA uses).

You already lied on your video about Palmetto not dimpling receiver. And then disabled comments like a co ward. Should have cut the receiver live for such claims. It doesn't matter , Palmetto dominates out of shape chumps like u. And they also released Krinkov 😏

I've seen Lemon Grenade's video about the dimpled rivets on the PSA. What company dimples their rivets? I haven't seen any AKs with dimpled rivets. I've seen Zastava, PSA, WASRs, etc...

@@m26_lemon_grenade55I don’t believe they’ve made official a statement. But have seen this mentioned from multiple sources. Hopefully that means something. Especially since dimpling and providing a deeper taper on the river holes in the trunnions can’t be that expensive of a change. Fingers crossed it’s not a politicians promise.

The issue i had with the Zastava mags is the gen 1 mags fit but not the gen 2 or 3 they are wide to fit in the magwell. I actually got rid of my Zastava mags and just bought the bulgarian 5.56 mags from gunmag warehouse. They fit in all my 5.56 guns PSA AK101, 102, Zastava m85 and m90.

Much more affordable than the Arsenal. I ordered a couple because I trust them and they fit well too. I’ll have to pick up some Bulgarians from the same site too. Thanks for the info!
