Just watched this for the first time. Going to definitely re-watch over and over. I just bought a 97 Chevy and want to do an LS swap and 6l80 swap. I plan on buying a salvage title truck for all of the power train. What are the main issues I will face doing this swap?
I think i missed it but other then the TU/TD where is the connector for the shifter assembly suppose to go? I think thats one of the headaches for the 6l80. Lots of stuff runs through the BCM, but seeing this harness that changes the whole narrative. I am scratching my head on how its going to shift though.
Shifter is just like the 4L series, connects directly to the shift arm, except the lever arm goes down instead of up. I rotated it up so the aftermarket column shifter works correctly.
@@GenV_Restomods same solution for me. It took me a bit to figure out laying upside down haha. Now just to figure out how to activate tap shift. Not sure if the wire is a ground or what.

Also search for the SwapTime USA channel. Mitch has figured out how to get the BCM functions working on a stock Camaro Gauge set. Speartech sells a tap shift harness and solution.
Tap shift option is something that has to be activated in the ECU, it's a simple checkbox. As far as I know the only what to get it to work is by using HP Tuners or EFI Live. It's simply an option, same holds true for PWM fan control, you can check it off or on and use discrete fans.
automobileman.com/wp/?p=1109 . Harry built a simple switch on his dash to control tap shift. I have the 8L90e in my new Truck and all I do is push on the throttle more to get it to downshift. You can actually downshift 4 gears.
