First down on the 26 with 1:30 left you call your timeout and you script your next three plays. Keep it on the ground if you're worried about chubba. Call your next three plays during the timeout. Run those three plays not necessarily in a "hurry up" offense. But with pace and if you run your three plays and it's 3rd and 3 on the 19, you can use your last timeout with a few seconds left and kick it.
Was at the game. Chubba looked spectacular. EJ and AG looked great! Fidone looked great. The OL whiffed on some really important blocks. Satterfield is still awful. The touchdown run was a pass play that Chubba was forced to improvise. Realistically Satterfield called ONE touchdown play. I think Rhule's decision on clock management at the end had just as much to do with his lack of trust in his OC than anything else. Getting the plays in late was not Chubba either, it was Satt being slow. Also noticed WR's were not open and the route running was ridiculously weak. I know they are freshman, but c'mon. Also, where was Fleeks????
Thanks or the pod. So they are 1 of 27 in one score games. I was living in Houston when Charles Barkley dubbed them "Choke City". Given that, 1 of 27 says we are now "Choke Varsity". Houston did change it to "Clutch City", lets hope we can do the same. GBR
Being at the game,.most notable mistake was clock management at the end! And my stupid question would be--why do teams play to the same end zone in overtime, which was obviously loud and in the BADger's student section?
I hate it but I wasn't upset at the time I realized we were playing for OT because I thought about all the horrible turnovers this year yet at the same time I had little to no confidence we would win in OT. It's hard being a Husker fan lol GBR
I cant find it, I remember reading r/CFB and seeing people talk about the Rhule hire and someone said something along the lines of... Congratulations Huskers! Don't judge him on his NFL tenure He will rebuild the program and get you winning again. OUTSIDE OF SOME BIZZARE CLOCK MANAGEMENT HE HAS HAD AT EVERY STOP He is a fantastic talent evaluator and developer. its been stuck in my head since last December.
How about the fact that Rhule has only won a G5 conference championship yet we pay him like he's developed a national championship team. How about his college career win-loss record, out of the seven previous years only three of them with 10 wins. Oh in the NFL, he let the Panthers QB room on fire, figuratively of course, and his record there was not so great. Lastly, in preseason he said that Sims was NFL QB material. So either that was a crock of PR BS, or he actually thought Sims was that good which is far more concerning.
Here's the deal whether you like him or not Rhule is way overpaid for the job he is here for. Dude has a college career 50/50 win-loss record, three seasons where he went 10 wins, and one G5 conference championship. Yet we pay this man like he won several national championships bringing up each of those teams that he coached. He only won one G5 conference championship and he is one of the highest paid coaches in college football. Let that sink in. Oh can we also bring up his time in the NFL, because that's certainly worthy of the salary he was given😂
Looking back really doesn't mean anything for evaluating the Rule staff, except this: Both Rule AND Frost have/had OCs that can only score OUTSIDE the Red Zone. I'd be interested in scoring stats outside vs. inside the Red Zone this year and past years. Once again, this year, we have an OC that plays checkers instead of chess. Up by 14 he's calling multiple gadget plays instead of just playing straight up football. Where are the naked QB bootleg run sprints to the sideline, the jet sweeps to the sideline, the pitch sweeps to the sideline? We literally have a fast enough backfield to get 3 to 5 yards by beating slow Big10 teams to the sideline! And clock management should have been reversed the last 2 games. Versus Maryland you're already tied so run-run-run to burn out the clock, the kick FG to win in regulation. Against Whiskey, you're 3 points down, so you save clock to try for a TD until FG is your only option.
When it comes to being critical of Rhule in his first year, people have a short memory. People say "yeah yeah, there are injuries, whatever", and they gloss over that. But, Rhule is still forced to work with the very limited chess pieces he has available, and he has to play these games with what hes got in the cupboard. I think theres a huge difference between "a couple of injuries", and 8 of your starters being lost for the season on offense. Because of that, we have a bunch of young players shoved into service. That is why they dont always look well-coached, and they look like they dont always know what theyre doing. We are playing against good coaches, who know how to manipulate young, inexperienced players, giving them different looks, etc. You couple that with the unfortunate whiff on Jeff Sims, and now we are starting 2nd and 3rd string QBs for most of the season, and yeah, we are going to be looking bad on offense. The fact we have been competitive in games is a miracle, honestly. Also, yeah, Wiscy has been bad, but that bad sretch was without Braelon Allen. He was back in the mix again vs Neb, and they won, using him in critical situations. I agree with Bo, this year is his first year, and basically, it is what it is. Next year we will see much more of the picture. Keep up the great work Fellas! Love the show!
@dashcamcalifornia5003 We only needed a 20 yd punt. We were on the 33 yard line. Just pin them down at the 10 yard line and let our defense do work. Iowa does it year in and year out and are always in the Top 25🤔
I like Rhule but he makes some bad decisions with game clock decisions and a few others like the unwillingness to have his guy return punts a couple weeks ago during the Maryland game. And while I'm on this rant, the lack of competition in games with all three quarterbacks has finally led us to Chubba appearing. Makes no sense. Almost like when Joe Ganz had to wait forever in the 2007 season until an injury to Sam Keller. Smh. Coaches are Way Overpaid. Last notation, NBC needed to stop showing over and over the Wisconsin sideline of linebacker Hunter walking back and forth yelling like he's a coach. We get it he's emotional, but not showing him every two seconds. Ugh.

I said 'I can't believe it's not Chubba' and then 6 seconds later y'all said it. Legends lmao
Good show guys! Chubba Chatter!
These two every week just bust out laughing at their own kokes and I look like a loon at work laughing at the same dumb jokes! Thos show is awesome

46:10 ha, Nick sounding like Sipple here.

So basically you are saying Rhule and Shitterfield SUCK
Also, Buscini looked injured. He was constantly stretching and warming up on the sideline and his punts were really inconsistent.

Nick gets it. He said everything I would’ve said, word for word. Love ya Nickster. Little Bo peep & the sheep 😂

We projected what the opportunities would be, but given what they actually were ...evaluate from there, hmmm
PUNT, PUNT, PUNT!!! Quit going for it on 4th downs. We have a GREAT defense. Field position wins games!!!
Did you see our punting game? A 20-yard punt is pretty concerning. Pretty sure chubbuck could have thrown it further

Glad I'm not in the Bowl Package Travel game. Yipes.
Obviously the coach doesn't know our recent history with OT games
