    Jackie, thanks for a very helpful video. I have a question though. Why do you think that one shouldn't say yes to the question about citations when they received traffic tickets in the past? Shouldn't they rather answer "yes", but they don't have to document the offense? I would appreciate if you could elaborate on this point.

He previously submitted an application for family unification to me 6 months ago, and I reside in Morocco. We are still in the first stage, the USCIS stage. He now wants to apply. Nationality Can he do this? Will this affect my family unification application? Does he apply for citizenship in the same USCIS account in which he applied for family unification?

    Hi, great video, your tone of voice is pleasant :) May I ask a question: I have a friend that wants to apply for his citizenship, and he wants to make sure he takes the test in Spanish. He qualifies for the 55/15 rule, however, he didn't see a question on the application to indicate that he can take the test in Spanish. I told him that once he enters the date when he became a resident and with his date of birth the interviewer will allow him to. Can you please tell me if there is anything else he needs to do to make sure he takes it in Spanish. Does he have to bring his own interpreter? Thank you so much for your help.

    With the new update for the N-400 form, I found many people asking on various social media websites whether they should choose "Yes" or "No" for certain questions, especially question 16 if they answered "Yes" to question 15b when they mentioned their ticket (a normal traffic ticket without DUI, alcohol, or injury).
    For example, I checked question 16: "If you received a suspended sentence, were placed on probation, or were paroled, have you completed your suspended sentence, probation, or parole?" This is especially confusing for people who have received speeding tickets and checked "Yes" for question 15b. When filling out the form online, if they mention their ticket in question 15b and choose "Yes," they are required to answer question 16 as well. They cannot leave it empty when filing the form online because they have to answer "Yes" or "No" to proceed to the next page. What should they choose in this case since the question does not apply to them?
    When downloading the form, they don't know if they should leave it empty or choose "Yes" or "No" because they mentioned "Yes" in question 15b only for a traffic violation without alcohol or drugs, like a speeding ticket.
    For online filing, I found that if you answer "No" for questions 15a and 15b, question 16 will disappear. However, if they have a speeding ticket, they must say "Yes" to question 15b.
    I am now facing the same problem both online and when downloading the form because I have a speeding ticket and chose "Yes" for question 15b. I don't know what to put for question 16: "If you received a suspended sentence, were placed on probation, or were paroled, have you completed your suspended sentence, probation, or parole?" because it doesn't apply to me.
    If I am filling out the form online, I have to choose "Yes" or "No" to go to the next page. If I am filling out the form manually after downloading it, I don't know if I can leave it blank. Should we leave it blank in the downloaded form if it doesn't apply to us? Is it acceptable for USCIS to leave it blank? How can people filing the form online solve this issue when they must choose either "Yes" or "No" to proceed to the next page of questions? Please help us.

    Can I reapplicate for citizenship? I had a problem when I did it in May last year, and when I applied again when I clicked it took me to the status part, then it showed my old statuses after that it didn't give me the option to reapply

      You first have to wait for the first application closed (denied) before you can reapply.

    I am applying under General provision and i have lived in only 1 address for the past 5 years. I have entered the current physical address but do i still have to enter the same address under the 'List all your addresses in that past 5 years section' even if i have lived in the same address for the past 5 years?

    I have taken a trip outside the US in the last 5 years. However, the note states that only trips from the last 3 years need to be listed if I am applying as the spouse of a US citizen. Should I answer ‘YES’ to the question but only list my travels from the last 3 years? So I will just leave it blank as I didn’t travel for the past 3 years. Thank you!

    I have a speed ticket . When filling out the N-400 application, I answered "No" to "Have you EVER committed, agreed to commit, asked someone else to commit, helped commit, or tried to commit a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested?" and "Yes" to "Have you EVER been arrested, cited, detained, or confined by any law enforcement officer, military official (in the U.S. or elsewhere), or immigration official for any reason, or been charged with a crime or offense, or notified that you were being investigated for a crime?", then I entered both citations into "Crimes and offenses"
    When I go to the next question "If you received a suspended sentence, were placed on probation, or were paroled, have you completed your suspended sentence, probation, or parole?" What should I answer here? "Yes" or "No"?
    It seems both answers don't apply to me and I am not sure what to put here?

      @USCitizenshipTestOrg  2 месяца назад +1

      If your children are under the age of 18 when you take your Oath ceremony, they will derive their citizenship from you as long as they have green cards and live with you in the US. So you do NOT need to file N-400 if that's the case.

    Your video 3 years ago said that the answer is yes for a simple traffic ticket, now with the new n400 version you say that the answer is no? I'm confused

    • @USCitizenshipTestOrg
      @USCitizenshipTestOrg  2 месяца назад

      depending on when you filed your N-400. If you filed it before April 1st, 2024, then it should be "Yes" and if you file on or after April 1st, 2024, depending on the traffic ticket you got and what's involved.
      This question confuses a lot of applicants and USCIS tries to make it a bit more clearer with the new version.

    @7:15 you said, "Don't apply the day of eligibility." Why?

    • @USCitizenshipTestOrg
      @USCitizenshipTestOrg  3 часа назад

      Because I have seen several cases the applicants applied the day of eligibility and USCIS said they applied one day too early. Probably has to do with time zones. So better be safe than sorry.

    I did my application in January 2024 and i applied based on 3 years marriage and it still asked me the last 5 years of my previous work and address. I tried to put only 3 years and it didn’t let me to. Why?

    • @USCitizenshipTestOrg
      @USCitizenshipTestOrg  2 месяца назад +1

      Most likely is because you used the old form. USCIS shouldn't ask you if you apply after April 1st, 2024 based on marriage to a US citizen.

    Thank you
